vehicle
supports

and MP3
players.
Software
updates
are
provided
for
many
of
the
supported
devices.
Regular
updating
of
the
vehicle
software
keeps

vehicle
up
to date.

Hybrid
system
Principle
This
BMW
is
a
hybrid
vehicle.
As
well
as
the
inj
ternal
combustion
engine,
the
vehicle
is
equipj
ped
with
a
high-voltage
system
consisting
of
an
electric
motor
and
a
high-voltage
battery,
amongst
other
components.
The
hybrid
system
can
move
the
vehicle
under
electric
power
alone,
or
support
the
internal
comj
bustion
engine
in
certain
situations.
General
When
driving
under
electric
power
alone,
the
vej hicle
does
not
consume
any
fuel.
For
example,
this
allows
particularly
environmentally
friendly
driving
in
inner-city
areas,
without
generating
emissions.
When
the
internal
combustion
engine
is
used,
the
hybrid
system
helps
to
reduce
fuel consumption
further
by
providing
support.
In
addition,
the
electric
motor
acts
as
a
generaj
tor:
the
electric
motor
converts
the
kinetic
energy
of
the
vehicle
into
electrical
energy
when
braking
and
when
rolling
in
overrun
mode.
The
electrical
energy
is
saved
in
the
high-voltage
battery
and
is
used
to
drive
the
electric
motor.
