No
modifications
or
additions
should
be
made by
the
user
that
will
either
prevent
the
seat
belt
adjusting
devices
from
operating
to
remove slack,
or
prevent
the
seat
belt
assembly
from
being
adjusted
to
remove
slack.
WARNING
The
protective
function
of
the
seat
belts
may be
limited
or
may
even
fail
completely
in
the
following
situations:
'xIf
the
seat
belts
or
belt
buckles
are
damj
aged,
dirty
or
have
been
modified
in
anj other
way.'xIf
the
belt
tensioners
or
belt
retractorshave
been
modified.
Seat
belts
can
be
damaged
in
an
accident
withj
out
the
damage
necessarily
being
apparent. There
is
a
risk
of
injury
or
even
death.
Do
notmodify
seat
belts,
belt
buckles,
belt
tensioners,
belt
retractors
and
belt
anchor
points
and
enj sure
that
they
are
kept
clean.
After
an
accident,
have
the
seat
belts
inspected
at
a
Service
Partj ner
of
the
manufacturer
or
another
qualified
Service
Partner
or
a
specialist
workshop.
Correct
seat
belt
use
'xPlace
the
seat
belt
tightly
over
the
pelvis
and
shoulder,
close
to
the
body
and
without
twistj ing.'xMake
sure
that
the
seat
belt
is
positioned
low
at
the
hips
in
the
area
of
the
pelvis.
The
seat
belt
must
not
press
on
the
abdomen.'xThe
seat
belt
must
not
be
rubbed
on
sharp
edges,
be
routed
over
solid
or
breakable
obj
jects
or
be
trapped.'xAvoid
wearing
bulky
clothing.'xKeep
the
seat
belt
taut
by
occasionally
pulling upwards
on
the
upper
section.Adjustment
for
automatic
retracting
seat
belts'xDraw
the
buckle
tongue
attached
to
the
seat belt
across
the
body
and
press
it
into
the
buckle
catch
until
a
rclicks
is
heard.'xAdjustment
of
the
belt
length
is
very

To
adjust
the
lap
belt
and
check
whether
the
buckle
has
locked
correctly,
pull
upwards
on
the
shoulder
strap
until
the
lap belt
fits

length

diagonal

strap
adjjusts
itself
automatically
to
allow
freedom
of

Fastening
the
seat
belt
1.When
fastening
the

belt,
guide
it
slowlyover
the
shoulder
and
pelvis.2.Insert

belt
tongue

reminder

driver

front
passenger
seat
General The
seat
belt
reminder
is
activated
when
the
seat
belt
on
the
driver's
side
is
not
fastened.
On
some
country
variants,
the
seat
belt
reminder
is
also
active
if
the
front
passenger
seat
belt
is not
fastened
and
heavy
objects
are
on
the
frontpassenger
seat.

Front
head
restraints
General
The
current
head
restraint
position
can
be
savedwith

function.

If
the
head
restraints
are
removed
or
incorrectly adjusted,
they
cannot
provide
protection
as

tended
and
head
and
neck
injuries
may
result.
There
is
a
risk
of
injury.

a

re-install
any
removed
head
restraints
on
all
occupied
seats.'xAdjust
the
head
restraint
so
that
its
centre
supports
the
back
of
the
head
at
eye
level
where

distance
so

back of

the
backrest

Adjusting

height
Press
the
switch
up
or
down.

prevent
the
head
restraint
from
colliding
with the
roof
lining,
the
height
of
the
head
restraint
cannot
be
adjusted
in
certain
seat
positions.
To adjust
the
head
restraint,
move
the
seat
to
a
lower
position.
Adjusting
the
distance The
distance
from
the
back
of
the
head
is
adjusj
ted
by
the
seat
backrest
angle.
Adjust
the
distance
so
that
the
head
restraint
is as
close
as
possible
to
the
back
of
the
head.
Removing
The
head
restraints
cannot
be
removed.
Exterior
mirror
General The
mirror
setting
is
saved
for
the
current
driver
profile.
If
a
driver
profile
is
selected,
the
saved
position
is
called
up
automatically.
The
current
exterior
mirror
position

be
saved
with
the
memory
