Speedome ter
The stored speed is highlighted on the speedom‐
et er. If the speed of theve hicle in front or the
speed adjustment is less than thestored speed
due tothero ute event ahead, the segments in
th e speedome ter light up. Deactivation of Active
Dis tance Assi stDISTRONIC, as well as altera‐ tions
tothe speed due tomanual or auto matic
adoption of the speed limit, are displa yed in the
control feedback of the multifunction display on
a single line.

Start Assist holds theve hicle for a short
time when pulling away on a hill under thefo l‐
lowing conditions:
R The transmission is in position hork.
R The elect ric pa rking brake is released.
This gives you enough time tomo veyour foot
from the brake pedal tothe accelera tor pedal
and depress it before theve hicle begins toroll
aw ay. &

Deactivating the HOLD function #
Depress the accelerator pedal topull away.

play disappears from the multifunction dis‐
pla y.
The HOLD function is deactivated in thefo llow‐
ing situations:
R Active Dis tance Assi stDISTRONIC is acti va‐
te d.
R The transmission is switched toposition j.
R The vehicle is secured with the electric park‐
ing brake. In
thefo llowing situations, theve hicle is held by
transmission position jorby the electric park‐
ing brake:
R The seat belt is unfas tened and the driver's
door is opened.
R The vehicle is switched off.
R There is a malfunction in the sy stem or the
po we r supp lyis insuf ficient.
Fu nction of the intelligent cr awler mode
The intelligent crawler mode assists you when
pulling away, manoeuv ring and pa rking on uphill
or downhill inclines. When the brake pedal is
re leased, theve hicle rolls in the direction of the
engaged transmission position. The cr awler tor‐
qu e is adap tedto the uphill incline.
In recuperation le velhÃ, (/ page161) the
intelligent crawler mode also assists you up to
speeds of appr oximately 20 km/h byfollowing
th eve hicle in front at appr oximately the same
speed.
The intelligent cr awler mode is only an aid. The
driver is responsible for maintaining a suf ficient
di st ance totheve hicle in front. Sy
stem limits
The intelligent crawler mode does not automati‐
cally stop theve hicle if theve hicle in front stops.
The vehicle must be brought toast andstill using
th e brake pedal. Fu

rear axle le vel control ensures a con stant
ve hicle le vel on there ar axle, even wi tha laden
ve hicle.
The rear axle le vel control consists of:

Camera
If Ac tive Parking Assist is deactivated and an
obs tacle is de tected in the path of theve hicle, a
pop-up window forPa rking Assist PARKTRONIC
1 appears in the multimedia sy stem at speeds
below 10km/h.
The colour of the individual segments of the
wa rning display is based on the dis tance tothe
de tected obs tacle:
R Yellow segments: obstacles at a di stance
between appr ox. 0.6 m and 1.0 m R
Orange segments: obstacles at a di stance
between appr ox. 0.3 m and 0.6 m
R Red segments: obstacles at a very short
dis tance of appr ox. 0.3 m or less
Sy stem limits
Pa rking Assist PARKTRONIC does not necessa‐
ri ly take into account thefo llowing obs tacles:
R Obs tacles below the de tection range, e.g.
pe rsons, animals or objects.
R Obs tacles ab ovethe de tection range, e.g.
ove rhanging loads, overhangs or loading
ra mp s of lor ries.
The sensors must be free of dirt, ice and slush.
Otherwise, they may not function cor rectl y.
Clean the sensors regular ly,ta king care not to
scratch or damage them.

dia sy stem (/ page 238), the image from
re ve rsing camera 1is shown in the media dis‐
play when there ve rsege ar is engaged. Dynamic
guide lines show the path theve hicle will take
with thesteering wheel in its cur rent position. This helps
youto orient yourself and toavo id
obs tacles when reve rsing.
The reve rsing camera is only an aid. It is not a
substitute foryo ur attention tothe sur roundings.
The responsibility for safe manoeuvring and
parking remains with you. Make sure that there
are no persons, animals or objects etc., in the
manoeuvring area while manoeuvring and park‐
ing.
The guide lines in the media display show the
dis tances to yourvehicle. The dis tances dis‐
pl ay ed only apply toroad le vel.
Depending on theve hicle equipment, you can
select from thefo llowing vie ws:
R Normal view
R Wide-angle view
R Trailer view
The area behind theve hicle is displa yed as a
mir ror image, as in the inside rearview mir ror.

Sy stem limits
The reve rsing camera will not function or will
only partially function in thefo llowing situations:
R The tailgate is open.
R There is heavy rain, snow or fog.
R The light conditions are poor, e.g. at night. R
The camera lens is obstructed, dirty or mis‐
ted up. Obser vethe no tes on cleaning the
re ve rsing camera (/ page 469).
R The camera or rear of your vehicle is dam‐
aged. In this case, ha vethe camera and its
position and setting checked at a qualified
specialist workshop.
% Do not use there ve rsing camera in these
types of situation. You could otherwise injure
ot hers or collide with objects when parking
th eve hicle.
If th eve hicle is car rying a heavy load, leaving the
st andard height can result in inaccuracies in the
guide lines and in the display of thege nerated
ima ges, depending on tech nical conditions.
The field of vision and other functions of the
re ve rsing camera may be restricted due toaddi‐
tional accesso ries on there ar of theve hicle (e.g.
licence plate brac ket or bicycle rack ).
% The contrast of the display may be impaired
by direct sunlight or by other light sources,
e.g. when driving out of a garage . In this
case, pay particular attention. 234

ex ample, pixel er rors considerably restrict its

nction of the 360° Camera
The 360° Camera is a sy stem that consists of
fo ur cameras. The cameras co verth e immediate
ve hicle sur roundings. The sy stem assists you,
e.g. when parking or at exits with reduced visibil‐
ity.
Vi ew s from the 360° Camera are available for
fo rw ard tr avel up toa speed of appr ox.16 km/h
and al ways available when reve rsing.
The 360° Camera is only an aid and may show a
dis torted view of obs tacles, show them incor‐
re ctly or not show them at all. It is not a substi‐
tute foryo ur attention tothe sur roundings. The
re sponsibility for safe manoeuvring and parking
re mains with you. Make sure that there are no
persons, animals or objects etc., in the manoeu‐
vring area while manoeuvring and parking. The sy
