Component Description
ITS control unit • Being connected with rear view camera via ITS communication, receives vehicle detection signal 
and transmits Moving Object Detection indicator signal and Moving Object Detection indicator  
dimmer signal to rear view camera
• Being connected with rear view camera unit via ITS communication, receives detected rear con-
dition signal
• Receives steering angle sensor signal from steering angle sensor via CAN communication 
• Judges a Moving Object Detection indicator ON/OFF state and an approach state to the rear 
proximity of the vehicle. 
• Activates the warning buzzer and warning systems ON indicator
• Transmits Moving Object Detection lamp signal to combination meter via CAN communication
Blind Spot Warning indicator LH/  
RH Receives Moving Object Detection indicator operation signal from rear view camera and turns OFF, 
turns ON or blinks
Warning system switch Inputs the switch signal to ITS control unit 
Warning system switch indicator

The switch does  not turn ON
• When the Moving Object Detection system setting is ON , the Moving Object Detection ON indicator does not
illuminate even if the warning  system switch is depressed.
The switch does not turn OFF
• The Moving Object Detection ON indicator does not turn  off even if the warning system switch is pressed
when the Moving Object Detection ON indicator illuminates.
Diagnosis ProcedureINFOID:0000000009464953
1.CHECK MOVING OBJECT DE TECTION SYSTEM SETTING
1. Start the engine. 
2. After starting the engine wait for 5 seconds or more.
3. Check that Moving Object Detection system setting on the navigation screen is ON. 
Is Moving Object Detection system setting ON?
YES >> GO TO 2. 
NO >> Enable the Moving Object Detection system setting.
2.MOD SWITCH INSPECTION
1. Start the engine. 
2. Check that “mod SW” operates normally in  “DATA MONITOR” of “AVM” with CONSULT. 
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >> GO TO 3.
NO >> GO TO 5.
3.CHECK MOVING OBJECT DETE CTION ON INDICATOR CIRCUIT
1. Start the engine.
2. Select the active test item “MOD ON IND” of “AVM” with CONSULT.  
3. Check if the Moving Object Detection ON indica tor illuminates when the test item is operated. 
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >> GO TO 6.
NO >> GO TO 4.
4.PERFORM THE SELF-DIAGNOSIS OF COMBINATION METER
1. Perform “All DTC Reading” with CONSULT. 
2. Check if the DTC is detected in self-di agnosis results of “METER/M&A”. Refer to  MWI-27, "DTC Index"
.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >> GO TO 5.
NO >> GO TO 6.
5.PERFORM THE SELF-DIAGNOSIS
1. Perform “All DTC Reading” with CONSULT. 
2. Check if the DTC is detected in self-diagnosis results of “AVM”. Refer to  DAS-239, "DTC Index"
.
Is any DTC detected?
YES >> GO TO 6.
NO >> GO TO 7.
6.REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS. 
Repair or replace malfunctioning parts. 
>> GO TO 7.
7.CHECK MOVING OBJECT DETECTION SYSTEM

• Moving Object Detection system setting is not  selectable on the vehicle information display screen.
NOTE: 
When the ignition switch is in ACC position, Movi ng Object Detection system settings cannot be changed.
- “Moving Object Detection” is not indica ted on the vehicle information display screen.
- The switching between ON and OFF cannot be performed  by operating the vehicle information display set-
ting system selection.
- The item “Moving Object Detection” on the vehi cle information display screen is not active.
• The Moving Object Detection system setting diff ers from the one set at the previous driving. 
NOTE: 
Turn OFF the ignition switch and wait for 5 seconds or more.

1.CHECK MOVING OBJECT DE TECTION SYSTEM SETTING
1. Start the engine. 
2. Check that the Moving Object Detection system sett ings is selectable on the vehicle information display
screen.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >> GO TO 3. 
NO >> GO TO 2.
2.PERFORM THE SELF-DIAGNOSIS
1. Perform self-diagnosis with CONSULT. 
2. Check if the DTC is detected in self-diagnosis re sults of “AVM”, “MULTI AV” and “METER/M&A”. Refer to
the following.
-AVM:  DAS-239, "DTC Index"
- MULTI AV (with BOSE):  AV-328, "DTC Index"
- MULTI AV (without BOSE):  AV-231, "DTC Index"
- METER/M&A: MWI-27, "DTC Index"
Is any DTC detected?
YES >> Repair or replace malfunctioning parts. 
NO >> Inspection End.
3.CHECK DATA MONITOR OF ITS CONTROL UNIT
Check that “MOD SELECT” operates normally in  “DATA MONITOR” of “AVM” with CONSULT. 
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >> Refer to  DAS-233, "CONSULT Function (AVM)".
NO >> GO TO 4.
4.CHECK MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH
Operate the multifunction switch to check that the  audio, navigation system, and air conditioner operate prop-
erly. 
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >> Replace the ITS control unit. Refer to  DAS-68, "Removal and Installation".
NO >> Repair or replace malfunctioning parts.

4. Remove rear door lower hinge bolts (A) and lower hinge.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal. 
Tighten rear door hinge nuts and bolts to specified torque. 
CAUTION: 
• Apply anticorrosive agent  onto the hinge mating surface.
• After installation, check rear doo r open/close, lock/unlock operation.
• After installation, perform the rear  door adjustment procedure. Refer to  DLK-191, "DOOR ASSEMBLY
: Adjustment".

REMOVAL
1. Fully close the rear door glass. 
2. Remove rear door speaker (if equipped). Refer to  AV-204, "Removal and Installation"
 (DISPLAY AUDIO
WITH BOSE), or  AV-424, "Removal and Installation"
 (NAVIGATION WITH BOSE).
3. Remove door check link bolt from body.
4. Remove door check link bolts on door panel. 
5. Remove door check link (1) through the hole in door panel (2).
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal. 
CAUTION: 
• After installation, check rear doo r open/close, lock/unlock operation.

CAUTION: 
• Be careful not to scratch instrument panel pad and other parts. 
• Whenever a suitable tool is used, always wrap a  cloth around the end of the tool to protect compo-
nents from damage.
• Before servicing, turn ignition swit ch OFF, disconnect both battery terminals and wait at least three
minutes.
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative and positive bat tery terminals, then wait at least three minutes. Refer to  PG-73,
"Removal and Installation (Battery)"
2. Remove the instrument side finishers (1) (LH/RH) using a suit-
able tool.
NOTE: 
LH side shown; RH side similar.
3. Remove the front pillar finishers (LH/RH). Refer to  INT-21, "FRONT PILLAR FINISHER : Removal and
Installation".
4. Remove the dash side finishers (LH/RH). Refer to  INT-20, "DASH SIDE FINISHER : Removal and Instal-
lation".
5. Remove the front speakers (LH/RH). Refer to  AV-48, "Removal and Installation"
.
6. Remove the center speaker (if equipped). Refer to  AV-202, "Removal and Installation"
.
7. Remove the instrument lower panel LH. Refer to  IP-21, "Removal and Installation"
.
8. Remove the audio unit (BASE AUDIO). Refer to  AV-47, "Removal and Installation"
.
9. Remove the AV control unit. Refer to  AV-108, "Removal and Installation"
 (DISPLAY AUDIO WITHOUT
BOSE),  AV-198, "Removal and Installation"
 (DISPLAY AUDIO WITH BOSE),  AV-298, "Removal and
Installation" (NAVIGATION WITHOUT BOSE) or  AV-418, "Removal and Installation" ( N AV I G AT I O N  W I T H
BOSE).
10. Remove the combination switch. Refer to  BCS-81, "Removal and Installation"
.
11. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to  ST-31, "Removal and Installation"
.
12. Remove the combination meter. Refer to  MWI-82, "Removal and Installation"
.
13. Remove the glove box assembly. Refer to  IP-22, "Removal and Installation"
.
14. Remove the center console assembly. Refer to  IP-18, "Removal and Installation"

1.CHECK CONNECTOR
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF. 
2. Disconnect the battery cable from the negative terminal. 
3. Check the terminals and connectors of the AV c ontrol unit for damage, bend and loose connection (unit
side and connector side).
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >> GO TO 2.
NO >> Repair the terminal and connector.
2.CHECK HARNESS FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
1. Disconnect the connector of AV control unit. 
2. Check the resistance between the AV control unit harness connector terminals. 
- With navigation system without BOSE audio system 
- With navigation system and BOSE audio system
Is the measurement value within the specification?
YES >> GO TO 3. 
NO >> Repair the AV control unit branch line.
3.CHECK POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT
Check the power supply and the ground circuit of the AV control unit. Refer to the following. 
• With navigation system without BOSE audio system:  AV-270, "AV CONTROL UNIT : Diagnosis Procedure"
• With navigation system and BOSE audio system:  AV-376, "AV CONTROL UNIT : Diagnosis Procedure"
Is the inspection result normal?
YES (Present error)>>Replace the AV control unit. Refer to the following.
• With navigation system without BOSE audio system:  AV-298, "Removal and Installation"
• With navigation system and BOSE audio system: AV-418, "Removal and Installation"
YES (Past error)>>Error was detected in the AV control unit branch line. 
NO >> Repair the power supply and the ground circuit.
