Five Second Unstored Messages
When the appropriate conditions oc-
cur, this type of message takes control
of the main display area for five sec-
onds and then returns to the previous
screen. Examples of this message type
are "Memory System Unavailable -
Not in Park" and "Automatic High
Beams On".
The Reconfigurable Telltales section
is divided into the white telltales area
on the right, amber telltales in the
middle, and red telltales on the left.
When the appropriate conditions ex-
ist, the EVIC displays the following
messages:

Blind Spot System Off — This mes- sage is displayed when the ignition
is turned to ON to indicate the Blind
Spot System has been turned off.
Blind Spot System Not Available — This message is displayed to indi-
cate the Blind Spot Monitor (BSM)
system is temporarily unavailable
due to sensor blockage, electronic
interference, or other "temporary"
conditions. When this message is
displayed both outside rear view
icons will be illuminated. If elec-
tronic interference is present, the
BSM system will illuminate the icon
only on the side of interference as
long as interference is present.
Service Blind Spot System — This message is displayed to indicate the
Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) system is
permanently unavailable. The
driver will receive an EVIC mes-
sage and the BSM display warning
in both mirrors will be permanently
illuminated. If this message is pres-
ent see an authorized dealer.

Electronic Speed Control SETThis light will turn on when
the electronic speed control
is SET. For further infor-
mation, refer to “Electronic
Speed Control” in “Understanding
The Features Of Your Vehicle.”
EVIC AMBER TELLTALE
LIGHTS
This area will show reconfigurable
amber caution telltales. These tell-
tales include:
Low Fuel Light
When the fuel level reaches
approximately 11.0 L this
light will turn on, and remain on until
fuel is added.
Loose Gascap Indicator (for
versions/markets, where provided)
If the vehicle diagnostic sys-
tem determines that the fuel
filler cap is loose, improp-
erly installed, or damaged,
a loose gascap indicator will display in
the telltale display area. Tighten the
fuel filler cap properly and press the SELECT button to turn off the mes-
sage. If the problem continues, the
message will appear the next time the
vehicle is started.
A loose, improperly installed, or dam-
aged fuel filler cap may also turn on the
Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL). Windshield Washer Fluid Low
Indicator
This light will turn on to
indicate the windshield
washer fluid is low.
Wait To Start Light — Diesel
Engines Only The Wait To Start Light will
turn on when the ignition key
is first turned to the ON/RUN posi-
tion. Wait until the Wait To Start
Light turns OFF to start the engine.
(Refer to “Starting Procedures” in
“Starting And Operating” for further
information). Water In Fuel Indicator Light —
Diesel Engines Only
Indicates there is water de-
tected in the fuel filter. If
this light remains on, DO
NOT start the vehicle be-
fore you drain the water from the fuel
filter to prevent engine damage. Refer
to “Maintenance Procedures/ Drain-
ing Fuel/Water Separator Filter” in
“Maintaining Your Vehicle” for water
drain procedure.
EVIC RED TELLTALE
LIGHTS
This area will show reconfigurable red
telltales. These telltales include:
Door Ajar
This light will turn on to
indicate that one or more
doors may be ajar.
Oil Pressure Warning Light
This light indicates low engine
oil pressure. The light should
turn on momentarily when the engine
is started. If the light turns on while
driving, stop the vehicle and shut off

the engine as soon as possible. A chime
will sound when this light turns on.Do not operate the vehicle until the
cause is corrected. This light does not
show how much oil is in the engine.
The engine oil level must be checked
under the hood.
Charging System LightThis light shows the status of
the electrical charging system.
The light should come on when the
ignition switch is first turned ON and
remain on briefly as a bulb check. If
the light stays on or comes on while
driving, turn off some of the vehicle's
non-essential electrical devices or in-
crease engine speed (if at idle). If the
charging system light remains on, it
means that the vehicle is experiencing
a problem with the charging system.
Obtain SERVICE IMMEDIATELY.
See an authorized dealer.
If jump starting is required, refer to
“Jump Starting Procedures” in “What
To Do In Emergencies”. Electronic Throttle Control
(ETC) Light
This light informs you of a
problem with the Electronic
Throttle Control (ETC) sys-
tem. The light will come on
when the ignition is first turned ON
and remain on briefly as a bulb check.
If the light does not come on during
starting, have the system checked by
an authorized dealer.
If a problem is detected, the light will
come on while the engine is running.
Cycle the ignition key when the ve-
hicle has completely stopped and the
shift lever is placed in the PARK posi-
tion. The light should turn off.
If the light remains lit with the engine
running, your vehicle will usually be
drivable. However, see an authorized
dealer for service as soon as possible.
If the light is flashing when the engine
is running, immediate service is re-
quired. You may experience reduced
performance, an elevated/rough idle
or engine stall and your vehicle may
require towing. Engine Temperature Warning
Light
This light warns of an over-
heated engine condition. As
temperatures rise and the gauge ap-
proaches H,this indicator will illumi-
nate and a single chime will sound
after reaching a set threshold. Further
overheating will cause the tempera-
ture gauge to pass H,a continuous
chime will occur until the engine is
allowed to cool.
If the light turns on while driving,
safely pull over and stop the vehicle. If
the A/C system is on, turn it off. Also,
shift the transmission into NEUTRAL
and idle the vehicle. If the tempera-
ture reading does not return to nor-
mal, turn the engine off immediately
and call for service. Refer to “If Your
Engine Overheats” in “What To Do In
Emergencies” for more information.
Transmission Temperature
Warning Light
This light indicates that the
transmission fluid tempera-
ture is running hot. This

Coolant Temp
Displays the actual coolant tempera-
ture.
Oil Pressure
Displays the actual oil pressure.
Engine Hours
Displays the number of hours of en-
gine operation.
MESSAGES
Press and release the UP or DOWN
button until “Messages: XX” displays
highlighted in the EVIC. If there is
more than one message, pressing the
SELECT button will display a stored
warning message. Press and release
the UP and DOWN buttons if there is
more than one message to stepthrough the remaining stored mes-
sages. If there are no message, press-
ing the SELECT button will do noth-
ing.
UNITS
Press and release the UP or DOWN
button until “Units” displays high-
lighted in the EVIC and press the
SELECT button. The EVIC, odom-
eter, and navigation system (for
versions/markets, where provided)
can be changed between English and
Metric units of measure. To make
your selection, scroll up or down until
the preferred setting is highlighted,
then press and release the SELECT
button until a check-mark appears
next to the setting, showing that the
setting has been selected.
KEYLESS ENTER-N-GO
DISPLAY (for versions/
markets, where provided)
When the ENGINE START/STOP
button is pressed to change ignition
switch position, current ignition sta-
tus will be displayed in the lower right
corner of the EVIC display to the right
of the odometer value.

COMPASS /
TEMPERATURE DISPLAY
(for versions/markets,
where provided)
The compass readings indicate the di-
rection the vehicle is facing. The
EVIC will display one of eight com-
pass readings and the outside tem-
perature.
NOTE: The system will display
the last known outside tempera-
ture when starting the vehicle and
may need to be driven several min-
utes before the updated tempera-
ture is displayed. Engine tempera-
ture can also affect the displayed
temperature; therefore, tempera-
ture readings are not updated
when the vehicle is not moving.

Remote Unlock Sequence
WhenDriver Door 1st Press is se-
lected, only the driver's door will un-
lock on the first press of the Remote
Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter UN-
LOCK button. When Driver Door 1st
Press is selected, you must press the
RKE transmitter UNLOCK button
twice, to unlock the passenger's
doors. When All Doors 1st Press is
selected, all of the doors will unlock
on the first press of the RKE transmit-
ter UNLOCK button. To make your
selection, press and release the SE-
LECT button until a check-mark ap-
pears next to the feature showing the
system has been activated or the
check-mark is removed showing the
system has been deactivated. RKE Linked To Memory (for
versions/markets, where
provided)
When this feature is selected the
memory seat, mirror, and radio set-
tings will return to the memory set
position when the RKE transmitter
UNLOCK button is pressed. If this fea-
ture is not selected then the memory
seat, mirror, and radio settings can
only return to the memory set position
using the door mounted switch. To
make your selection, press and release
the SELECT button until a check-
mark appears next to the feature
showing the system has been activated
or the check-mark is removed showing
the system has been deactivated.Flash Lamps with Lock
When ON is selected, the front and
rear turn signals will flash when the
doors are locked or unlocked with the
RKE transmitter. This feature may be
selected with or without the sound
horn on lock feature selected. To
make your selection, press and release
the SELECT button until a check-
mark appears next to the featureshowing the system has been acti-
vated or the check-mark is removed
showing the system has been deacti-
vated.
Automatic High Beams (for
versions/markets, where
provided)
When this feature is selected, the high
beam headlights will deactivate auto-
matically under certain conditions. To
make your selection, press and release
the SELECT button until a check-
mark appears next to the feature
showing the system has been acti-
vated or the check-mark is removed
showing the system has been deacti-
vated. Refer to “SmartBeam™” in
“Understanding The Features Of
Your Vehicle” for further information.
Headlamp Off Delay
When this feature is selected, the
driver can choose to have the head-
lights remain on for 0, 30, 60, or 90
seconds when exiting the vehicle. To
make your selection, scroll up or
down until the preferred setting is
highlighted, then press and release the
SELECT button until a check-mark

that the setting has been selected.
Headlamps with Wipers
(Available with Auto Headlights
Only) (for versions/markets,
where provided)
When ON is selected, and the head-
light switch is in the AUTO position,
the headlights will turn on approxi-
mately 10 seconds after the wipers are
turned on. The headlights will also
turn off when the wipers are turned
off if they were turned on by this
feature. To make your selection, press
and release the SELECT button until
a check-mark appears next to the set-
ting, showing that the setting has been
selected.
NOTE: Turning the headlights on
during the daytime causes the in-
strument panel lights to dim. To
increase the brightness, refer to
“Lights” in “Understanding The
Features Of Your Vehicle.”Intermittent Wiper Options (for
versions/markets, where
provided)
When this feature is selected, the
driver can choose to have the stan-
dard intermittent wiper operation or
rain sensing auto wiper operation that
senses moisture on the windshield and
automatically activates the wipers. To
make your selection, scroll up or
down until the preferred setting is
highlighted, then press and release the
SELECT button until a check-mark
appears next to the setting showing
that the setting has been selected.
Key-Off Power Delay
When this feature is selected, the
power window switches, radio,
Uconnect™ phone (for versions/
markets, where provided), DVD video
system (for versions/markets, where
provided), power sunroof (for
versions/markets, where provided),
and power outlets will remain active
for up to 10 minutes after the ignition
switch is turned OFF. Opening either
front vehicle door will cancel this fea-
ture. To make your selection, scroll upor down until the preferred setting is
highlighted, then press and release the
SELECT button until a check-mark
appears next to the setting, showing
that the setting has been selected.
Illuminated Approach
When this feature is selected, the
headlights will activate and remain on
for up to 90 seconds when the doors
are unlocked with the RKE transmit-
ter. To make your selection, scroll up
or down until the preferred setting is
highlighted, then press and release the
SELECT button until a check-mark
appears next to the setting, showing
that the setting has been selected.
Flashers with Sliding Door (for
versions/markets, where provided)When this feature is selected the signal
lamps activate when power or manual

NOTE: The seat will return to the
memorized seat location (if Recall

Tilt Mirror In Reverse (for
versions/markets, where provided)When this feature is selected and the
vehicle is placed in a reverse gear, the
driver's side mirror will tilt downward
to allow the driver to see into the
previous blind spot and avoid objects
in close proximity to the rear of the
vehicle. To make your selection, press
and release the SELECT button until
a check-mark appears next to the fea-
ture showing the system has been ac-
tivated or the check-mark is removed
showing the system has been deacti-
vated.
Blind Spot Alert (for
versions/markets, where provided)There are three selections when oper-
ating Blind Spot Alert (“Blind Spot
Alert Lights”, “Blind Spot Alert
Lights/CHM”, “Blind Spot Alert
Off”). The Blind Spot Alert feature
can be activated in “Blind Spot Alert
Lights” mode, when this mode is se-
lected the Blind Spot Monitor (BSM)
system is activated and will only show
a visual alert in the outside mirrors.
The Blind Spot Alert feature can be
activated in “Blind Spot Alert Lights/
CHM” mode, in this mode the Blind
Spot Monitor (BSM) will show a vi-
sual alert in the outside mirrors as
well as an audible alert when the turn
signal is on. When “Blind Spot Alert
Off” is selected the Blind Spot Moni-
tor (BSM) system is deactivated.

Turn on the VES™ player (forversions/markets, where provided
on Dual Screen System) by pushing
the Power button, located on the far
left, or by pressing the button on
the Remote Control.
When the Video Screen(s) are open and a DVD is inserted into the
VES™ player, the screen(s) turn(s)
on automatically, the headphone
transmitters turn on and playback
begins.
For Dual Video Screen System, Channel 1 on the Remote Control
and Headphones refers to Screen 1
(second row) and Channel 2 on the
Remote Control and Headphones
refers to Screen 2 (third row). Refer
to the Dual Video Screen section for
more information.
Play Video Games
Connect the video game console to the
Auxiliary RCA input jacks (1 set or 2
depending on vehicle) located on the
back of the center console or on left
side behind the second row seat. When connecting an external source
to the AUX input, be sure to follow the
standard color coding for the VES™
jacks:
Ensure the Remote Control and
Headphone switch is on Channel 1.
Using The Remote Control
1. Press the MODE button on the Re-
mote Control.
2. While looking at the video screen,
highlight VES AUX 1 or 2 (depending
which AUX input the gaming console
is plugged into), by either pressingUp/Down/Left/Right buttons or by
repeatedly pressing the MODE but-
ton, then press ENTER on the Remote
Control.
Using The Touch-Screen Radio
Controls
1. Press the MENU hard-key on the
radio faceplate.
2. Touch the Rear VES soft-key to
display the Rear VES Controls. If a
channel list is displayed, press the
HIDE LIST soft-key to display the
Rear VES Controls screen.
3. Touch the 1 soft-key and then
touch either AUX 1 or AUX 2 in the
VES column (depending which AUX
input is used). To exit press the back
arrow soft-key at the top of the screen.
