Driving





Cruise control

System which automatically maintains thespeed of the vehicle at the value programmed
by the driver, without any action on the
accelerator pedal.

The cruise control is switched on
manually: it
requires:


- a minimum vehicle speed of 25 mph(40 km/h),

- the engagement of 2nd gear or higher,

- position A.

Cruise control is switched off manually or byfpressing the brake pedal or on triggering of theESC system for safety reasons.

It is possible to exceed the programmed speed
temporarily by pressing the accelerator pedal.
To return to the pro
grammed speed, simply
release the accelerator pedal.

Switching off the ignition cancels any programmed speed value. 1

Steering mounted controls
The cruise control cannot, in any circumstances,replace the need to observe speed limits,
nor can it replace the need for vigilance andresponsibility on the part of the driver.
This information also appears in thehead-up display.
For more information on the head-updisplay, refer to the relevant page in this"Driving" section. The programmed in
formation is grouped
together in the instrument panel screen.

, the cruise control is activatedbut remains paused.

Set the programmed speed by
accelerating to the required speed,
then press button 2 or 3(e.g.: 70 mph (11 0 k m / h)).
Programming
You can then change the programmed speed using buttons 2
and 3
:
- by + or - 1 mph (km/h) = shor t press,
- by + or - 5 mph (km/h) = long press,
- in steps of + or - 5 mph (km/h) = maintained press. )Pause the cruise control by pressing button 4
: the screen confirms the suspension with with "Pause".)Switch the cruise control back on by pressing button 4
again.
Exceeding the programmed speed
Intentional or unintentional exceeding of the programmed speed results
in flashing of this speed on the display.
Return to the programmed speed, by means of intentional or
unintentional deceleration of the vehicle, automatically cancels theflashing of the speed.
When the cruise control is switched on, be careful if you maintain the pressure on one of the programmed speed changing buttons: this may result in a very rapid change in the speed of your vehicle. Do not use the cruise control on slippery roads or in heavy traffic. On a steep descent, the cruise control will not be able to prevent the vehiclefrom exceeding the programmed speed. To a v o i d a ny risk of jamming of the pedals:


- ensure that the mat is positioned correctly,

- never fit one mat on top of another.
In the event o
f a cruise control fault, the speed
is cleared resulting in flashing of the dashes.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.

This system indicates the proximity of an
obstacle (person, vehicle, tree, gate, etc.) which comes within the field of detection of sensorslocated in the bumper.
Certain types of obstacle (stake, roadworkscone, etc.) detected initially will no longer bedetected at the end of the manoeuvre due to
the presence of blind spots.






Parking sensors


This function cannot, in any circumstances, take the place of the vigilance and responsibility of the driver.The s
ystem is switched on by engaging reverse
gear. This is accompanied by an audible signal.
The system is switched off when you exit reverse gear.
Rear parking sensors
Audible assistance
The proximity information is given by an intermittent audible signal, the frequency of whichincreases as the vehicle approaches the obstacle.
The sound emitted by the speaker (right or left) indicates the side on which the obstacle islocated.
When the distance between the vehicle and
the obstacle becomes less than approximately
thirty centimetres, the audible signal becomes continuous.



Visual assistance
This supplements the audible signal bydisplaying bars in the multifunction screen
which move progressively nearer to the vehicle.
When the obstacle is near, the "Danger" symbol is also displayed in the screen.

In bad weather or in winter, ensure that the sensors are not covered with mud, ice or snow. When reverse gear isengaged, an audible signal (long beep)indicates that the sensors may be dirty.
When the vehicle is moving at a speed below 6 mph (10 km/h), cer tain sound sources (motorcycle, lorry, pneumatic
drill, etc.) may trigger the audiblesignals of the parking sensor system.
In th
e event of a malfunction
of the system, when reverse gear is engaged this warninglamp is displayed in the instrument panel
and/or a message appears in the screen,
accompanied by an audible signal (short beep).
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified
wor
kshop.

Operating fault
In addition to the rear parking sensors, the front
parking sensors are triggered when an obstacle
is detected in front and the speed of the vehicle
is still below 6 mph
(10 km/h).
The front parking sensors are interrupted if
the vehicle stops for more than three seconds
in
forward gear, if no fur ther obstacles are
detected or when the speed of the vehicle exceeds 6 mph (10 km/h).
Front par king sensors
The function will be deactivated automatically if a trailer is being towed or a bicycle carrier is fitted (vehicle fitted with a towbar or bicycle carrier recommended by PEUGEOT).



Deactivation/Activation of the front and rear parking sensors

The function is deactivated by pressing this button.The indicator lamp in the button comes on.
Pressing this button again reactivates the function. The indicator lamp in the button goes off.

The sound emitted by the speaker (frontor rear) indicates whether the obstacle is in front or behind.

It measures the size of the space and gives you
information on:


- the possibility of fitting into a free space,
depending on the dimensions of your
vehicle and the distances needed for manoeuvring,

- the level of difficulty of the parkingmanoeuvre.
The system does not measure spaces whichare clearly much smaller or larger than the size of the vehicle.
The warning lamp in the control A
can have two different states:

When you have identified a parking space:
)Put the gear lever in position A.)Press button Ato star t the system. )Operate the direction indicator on the
side where the space is to be measured;
a message is displayed and the warning lamp flashes to confirm that measurement is in progress. )During measurement, go for ward the length of the space, at a speed less than
12 mph (20 km/h), to prepare for your manoeuvre.)Once the measurement has beencompleted, the system informs you of
the level of difficulty of the manoeuvre
by a message in the multifunction screen accompanied by an audible signal.


The system displays one of the following messages:
Parking possible
Parking difficult
Parking not advised


If the lateral distance between your vehicle and the parking space is toogreat, the system may not be able tomeasure the space.


The system remains available after each measurement and can therefore measure several spaces in succession.
In poor or wintry weather, ensure thatthe sensors are free of dir t, ice or snow.
The parking space sensor system deactivates the front parking sensorswhen measuring forwards.
If there is a fault, have the system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop.
The s
ystem switches itself off automatically:


- when you engage reverse gear,

- when
you switch off the ignition,

- if measuring is not requested,

- within five minutes of switching on thesystem,

- if the vehicle speed exceeds the threshold
o
f 45 mph (70 km/h) for one minute.

Lighting controls System for selection and control of the various front and rear lamps providing the vehicle's lighting and signalling.


Main lighting

There are various lamps on the vehicle:


- sidelamps, to be seen,

- dipped beam headlamps to see without
dazzlin
g other drivers,

- main beam headlamps to see clearly when
the road is clear,

- directional headlamps for improved
visibility when cornering.

Additional lighting
Other lamps are installed to fulfil therequirements of particular driving conditions:
- rear foglamps to better signal the presence
of the vehicle in foggy conditions,
- daytime running lamps to be seen duringthe day.



Automatic lighting functions

Various automatic lighting functions are also
available depending on options:


- guide-me-home lighting,

- directional headlamps,

- welcome li
ghting,

- daytime lighting (daytime running lamps),

- automatic illumination of headlamps,

- adaptive lighting.
