Ruffled storage pockets 1 are located on
the back of the front seats.
Cupholders

Do not place objects with a combined
weight of more than 4.4 lbs (2 kg) into the
ruffled storage pocket. Otherwise, the Occu-
pant Classification System OCS (
page 47)
may not be able to properly approximate the
occupant weight category.
The ruffled storage pocket is intended for
storing light-weight items only.
Heavy objects, objects with sharp edges or
fragile objects may not be transported in the
ruffled storage pocket. In an accident, dur-
ing hard braking, or sudden maneuvers, they
could be thrown around inside the vehicle
and cause injury to vehicle occupants.
The ruffled storage pocket cannot protect
transported goods in the event of an acci-
dent.

In order to help prevent spilling liquids on
vehicle occupants and/or vehicle equip-
ment, only use containers that fit into the
cupholder. Use lids on open containers and
do not fill containers to a height where the
contents, especially hot liquids, could spill
during braking, vehicle maneuvers, or in an
accident. Liquids spilled on vehicle occu-
pants may cause serious personal injury.
Liquids spilled on vehicle equipment may
cause damage not covered by the
Mercedes-Benz Limited Warranty.
When not in use, keep the cupholders
closed. An open cupholder may cause injury
to you or others when contacted during
braking, vehicle maneuvers, or in an acci-
dent.

Do not use the vanity mirror while driving.
Keep the vanity mirrors in the sun visors

and pivot it to the side.

Useful features
Rear window sunshade
The switches are on the rear doors.

You can also operate the rear window sun-
shade via COMAND (
page 271) or via
the favorite button (
page 263).
Switch on the ignition (
page 370).
Press upper part 1 of the rocker
switch briefly to extend the sunshade.
Press lower part 2 of the rocker
switch briefly to retract the sunshade.
Reverse the extending or retracting
procedure: Press lower part2 or up-
per part1 of the rocker switch.Warning!

When operating the rear window sunshade,
be sure that there is no danger of anyone be-
ing harmed by the extending or retracting
procedure.

Operating the rear window sunshade from
the rear is not possible if you activate the over-
ride switch (
page 64).

If you operate the rear window sunshade via
COMAND or via the favorite button, this takes
precedence over the rear window sunshade but-
tons on the rear doors.

The rear window sunshade is switched off at
temperatures below -4°F (-20°C).
