REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY
TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the
cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to
prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
2. REMOVE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ROD
(a) Disconnect the accelerator pedal position sensor
connector.
(b) Remove the 2 bolts and accelerator pedal rod.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL ACCELERATOR PEDAL ROD
(a) Install the accelerator pedal rod with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf)
(b) Connect the accelerator pedal position sensor
connector.

1. CHECK ECM
(a) Measure the voltage of the ECM connector.
HINT:
The standard normal voltage between each pair of
ECM terminals is shown in the table below. The
appropriate conditions for checking each pair of
terminals are also indicated. The result of checks
should be compared with the standard normal
voltage for that pair of terminals, displayed in the
Specified Condition column. The illustration above
can be used as a reference to identify the ECM
terminal locations.
