RDS FUNCTION Using the RDS (Radio Data System) function on FM
RDS allows you to c ontinue to listen to the same station, whatever freq uenc y it is using for the reg ion you are g oing
throug h.

The d isp lay ind ic ates the name of the station selec ted . The rad io is c ontinually searc hing for the station whic h has the

Traffic information programme
Press the ÒTAÓb utton to switc h the func tion on or off.
Any traffic information flash will b e b road c ast as a p riority, whether you are using the rad io, CD, CD multi-c hang er.
If you wish to interrup t a messag e, p ress the ÒTAÓb utton; this switc hes off the func tion.
Note : the volume of the traffic information announcements is independent of the volume of normal radio lis-
tening. You can adjust it using the volume button. The setting will be stored and will be used when the nextmessages are broadcast.
While traffic information is b eing b road c ast, the d isp lay will alternately show ÒTRAFFICÓand the name of the station.
When the station selec ted c annot b road c ast traffic information, the d isp lay shows ÒNO TAÓ.
Regional following mode (REG)
When they are p art of a network, c ertain stations b road c ast reg ional p rog rammes in the various areas they serve.
With reg ional following mod e you c an keep listening to the same p rog ramme.
To d o this p ress the ÒRDSÓb utton for more than two sec ond s to switc h this func tion on or off.
PTY function
This allows you to listen to stations b road c asting a sp ec ific typ e of p rog ramme (news, c ulture, sp ort, roc k etc .).
With FM selec ted , p ress the ÒTAÓb utton for two sec ond s to switc h this func tion on or off.
To find a PTY p rog ramme:
Ð switc h on the PTYfunc tion,
Ð b riefly p ress b utton ÒGÓor ÒHÓ to sc roll d own the list of the various typ es of p rog rammes offered ,

VI-2BATTERY
Emergency starting from another battery
A vehicle with a discharged battery can be started with either an electrically isolated slave battery or the battery of another vehicle.
To avoid risks of explosion, correctly follow the orderindicated below.
Slave battery
Earth point on failed vehicle.
Check that the voltage of the slave battery is correct (12 volts).
If using the battery of another vehicle, its engine must be switched off. The two vehicles must not be in direct contact
with each other. Connect the battery cables as shown in the diagram in the orderindicated. Make sure that the cable clips are pro-
perly connected (risk of sparks).Start the engine of the assisting vehicle and let it run under slight acceleration for about a minute.
Start the engine of the vehicle with the discharged battery. Caution Do not touch the cable clips during the operation.Do not lean over the batteries.
Disconnect the cables in the reverse order to connection ensuring that they do not touch one another.

Two fuse boxes are located under the dashboard and one fuse box is located in the engine compartment.Engine compartment fuses
To access the fuse box located in the engine compartment (beside the bat- tery), unclip the cover as indicated in the diagram.
At the end of the operation, close the cover very carefully.
WARNING Operations on the MAXI second-level protection fuses, located at B,
