Radio connections
To gain access to the wiring and connectors in order to connect a radio and fascia speakers, open the radio cover flap by pressing on the centreand bottom of the flap. The wiring is designed so that power can be supplied to either of the locations 1or 2.
The radio can be fitted in either of locations
1or 2.

Fitting speakers
A speaker location is provided at each end of the fascia. Unclip and pull out the grille, connect the speakers, secure them by screwing them intoposition, replace the grille. The speakers for this vehicle are of a specific height, contact an approved
dealer.
Diameter of the fascia speakers: 100 mm / 35 mm (Tweeter).
TO FIT SPEAKERS WITH A DIAMETER OF 165 MM (COVER DIAMETER
OF 100 MM) IN THE FRONT DOORS. Aerial. For good reception the aerial should be set at the same angle as the slope of the windscreen.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS On / off
With the ig nition key in the ACCESSORIES or IGNITION p osition, p ress the "M"b utton to switc h the set on or off.
ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM
The first time you use the set following d isc onnec tion of the set or the b attery, you must enter the c onfid ential c od e
whic h was g iven to you on hand over of your vehic le. Entering the code
Switc h the set on.
The d isp lay shows "CODE"then the set c hang es over to c od e req uest mod e and "- - - -"is d isp layed .
Enter your four-digitc od e numb er using b uttons "1"to "6".
For example: if your c od e is 5345 p ress b uttons "5", "3" , "4" and "5"in turn.
When the fourth numb er has b een entered c orrec tly, the rad io starts automatic ally. Error in entering the code
If an error is mad e when entering one of the first three d ig its, d o not c ontinue the op eration and switc h off the rad io to
p revent b loc king it.
Eac h inc orrec t c od e entry will result in the set b eing b loc ked for a p eriod of from 5 sec ond s to 30 minutes, after the
7th inc orrec t entry.
To unb loc k the set, leave it switc hed on d uring the waiting p eriod . When "- - - -"is d isp layed , you c an enter the c od e
ag ain.
If the set is switc hed off d uring the waiting p eriod , this waiting p eriod will restart when the set is switc hed on ag ain.
After 14 inc orrec t c od e errors the rad io will b e p ermanently b loc ked .
ADJUSTING THE SOUND Adjusting the volume
Turn the "M"b utton to inc rease or d ec rease the volume of the set.

AUDIO SETTINGS
Press the ÒAUDIOÓ b utton several times in suc c ession to ac c ess the b ass (BASS), treb le (TREB), loud ness (LOUD),
fad er (FAD) and b alanc e (BAL).
Exit from aud io mod e is automatic after a few sec ond s, without p ressing any b utton or b y p ressing the ÒAUDIOÓb ut-
ton after ad justing the b alanc e. Note : b ass and treb le setting s are sp ec ific to eac h sourc e. It is p ossib le to set them d ifferently for rad io, c assette and
CD*. Bass setting
When ÒBASSÓ is d isp layed , p ress the ÒGÓor ÒHÓ b uttons to vary the setting .
Ð ÒBASS Ð9Ó for a minimum b ass setting ,
Ð ÒBASS 0Ó for a normal p osition,
Ð ÒBASS +9Ó for a maximum b ass setting .
Treble setting
When ÒTREBÓ is d isp layed , p ress the ÒGÓor ÒHÓ b uttons to vary the setting .
Ð ÒTREB Ð9Ó for a minimum treb le setting ,
Ð ÒTREB 0Ó for a normal p osition,
Ð ÒTREB +9Ó for a maximum treb le setting .
Adjusting the loudness
This func tion automatic ally emp hasises b ass and treb le tones when the volume is low.
Press the ÒGÓor ÒHÓ b uttons to switc h this func tion on or off.
Setting the front/rear sound distribution (Fader)
When ÒFADÓ is d isp layed , p ress the ÒGÓor ÒHÓ b uttons to vary the setting .
The ÒGÓ b utton inc reases the volume at the front.
The ÒHÓ b utton inc reases the volume at the rear.
Setting the right/left sound distribution (Balance)
When ÒBALÓ is d isp layed , p ress the ÒGÓor ÒHÓ b uttons to vary the setting .
The ÒGÓ b utton inc reases the volume on the rig ht-hand sid e.
The ÒHÓ b utton inc reases the volume on the left-hand sid e.

RADIO Notes on radio reception
Your c ar rad io rec eiver is sub jec t to p henomena whic h d o not affec t d omestic sets. Both amp litud e mod ulation
(MW/LW) and freq uenc y mod ulation (FM) rec ep tion are sub jec t to various forms of interferenc e whic h are not a reflec -
tion on the q uality of your set, b ut are d ue to the nature of the sig nals and the way in whic h they are transmitted .
On MW/LW, interferenc e may b e notic ed when p assing und erneath hig h voltag e p ower lines or b rid g es or in tunnels.
On FM, interferenc e may b e the result of d istanc e from the transmitter, reflec tion of the sig nal b y ob stac les (mountains,
hills, b uild ing s etc ), or of b eing in a shad ow area (an area whic h is not c overed b y a transmitter). Selecting the radio
Press the "SRC"b utton, until the rad io is selec ted .
Selecting a waveband
By short p resses on the "BND/AST"b utton, you c an selec t the FM1, FM2, FM3 and AM waveb and s.
Automatic station search
Briefly p ress b utton "J" or "K" to searc h for the next station up or d own the waveb and . By c ontinuing to p ress the b ut-
ton in the d irec tion selec ted , you will ob tain c ontinous sc rolling of the freq uenc y.
The sc rolling stop s at the first station found as soon as you release the b utton.
If the TA traffic p rog ramme is selec ted , only stations b road c asting this typ e of p rog ramme are selec ted .
Searc hing for a station oc c urs first in "LO"sensitivity (selec tion of the most p owerful transmitters, while sc anning the
waveb and , then in "DX"sensitivity (selec tion of weaker and more d istant transmitters).
Manual station search
Press the ÒMANÓb utton.
Briefly p ress b utton ÒJÓor ÒKÓ resp ec tively to inc rease or red uc e the freq uenc y d isp layed .
By c ontinuing to p ress the b utton in the d irec tion selec ted , you will ob tain c ontinuous sc rolling of the freq uenc y.
Sc rolling stop s as soon as you release the b utton.
Pressing the ÒMANÓb utton ag ain returns you to automatic station searc h.

Manual storing in memory of stations
Selec t the station req uired .
Press for more than two sec ond s one of the b uttons Ò1Óto Ò6Ó .
The sound stop s then b ec omes aud ib le ag ain, c onfirming that the station has b een stored in memory. Automatic storing in memory of FM stations (autostore)
Press the ÒBND/ASTÓ b utton for more than two sec ond s, to automatic ally store the 6 stations with the strong est sig nal
in FM. These stations are stored in the FM3 waveb and .
Ð If it is not p ossib le to find 6 stations, the remaining memories are emp ty. Recall of stations stored in memory
For eac h waveb and , b riefly p ressing the b uttons Ò1Óto Ò6Ó rec alls the c orresp ond ing stored station.
RDS FUNCTION Using the RDS (Radio Data System) function on FM
RDS allows you to c ontinue to listen to the same station, whatever freq uenc y it is using for the reg ion you are g oing
throug h.
Switc h the func tion on or off b y b riefly p ressing the ÒRDSÓb utton.
RDS station following
The d isp lay ind ic ates the name of the station selec ted . The rad io is c ontinually searc hing for the station whic h has the
b est rec ep tion and whic h is transmitting the same p rog ramme.

Traffic information programmes
Press the "TA"b utton to switc h the func tion on or off.
Any traffic information flash will b e g iven p riority, whatever sourc e you are listening to (rad io, c assette or CD).
If you wish to interrup t a messag e, p ress the "TA"b utton; this switc hes off the func tion.
Note : the volume of the traffic information announcements is independent of the volume of normal radio lis-
tening. You can adjust it using the volume button. The setting will be stored and will be used when the nextmessages are broadcast.
While traffic information is b eing b road c ast, the d isp lay will alternately show ÒTRAFFICÓand the name of the station.
When the station selec ted c annot b road c ast traffic information, the d isp lay shows ÒNO TAÓ.
Regional following mode (REG)
When they are p art of a network, c ertain stations b road c ast reg ional p rog rammes in the various areas they serve.
With reg ional following mod e you c an keep listening to the same p rog ramme.
To d o this p ress the ÒRDSÓb utton for more than two sec ond s to switc h this func tion on or off.
