Installation
1.
remove glovebox assembly. Refer to 76.52.03.
2. Disconnect glovebox damper cord end loop from damper and
route cord through the liner guide.
3. Slacken and remove the two damp er securing nuts and remove damper from liner.
1. Position damper on liner
2. Fit and tighten damper securing nuts.
3. Route damper cord through liner guide and connect end loop to
damper.

1.
Remove glovebox refer to 76.52.03.
2. Remove glovebox lid. Tefer to 76.52.02.
3. Remove glovebox damper. Refer to 76.52.22.
4. Release damper cord guide retaining tangs and remove guide
from bracket.
5. Position liner for access and ca refully remove switch assembly
from housing.
1. Route illumination switch harness into switch housing.
2. Connect switch to harness mult iplugs and fit and fully seat
switch in housing.
3. Secure harness in liner clips.
4. Fit lid damper to liner. Refer to 76.52.22.
5. Fit damper cord guide to bracket.
6. Route damper cord through guide and connect to damper.
7. Fit glovebox lid. refer to 76.52.02.
8. Fit glovebox. Refer to 76.52.03.

1.
Turn ignition key to position II.
2. Move steering column to lowest and fully extended position.
3. Turn ignition key to position 'O'.
4. Remove battery cover and disc onnect ground cable from
battery terminal. Refer to 86.15.15.
5. Release veneer panel from retaining clips.
6. Remove veneer panel from vehicle.
7. Remove and discard all retaining clips.
1. Fit new retaining clips to instrument surround.
2. Fit and fully seat veneer pa nel to instrument surround.
3. Connect ground cable to battery terminal and fit battery cover.
Refer to 86.15.15.
4. Turn ignition key to position II.
5. Return steering column to original position.
6. Turn ignition key to position 'O'.

1. Adjust steering column to full y extended and lowered position.
2. Remove battery cover and disc onnect ground cable from
battery terminal. Refer to 86.15.19.
3. Remove veneer from instrument panel. Refer to 76.47.24.
4. Using a small screwdriver, de press fog lamp switch upper
retaining tang and release sw itch from gauge surround.
5. Position fog lamp switch fo r access, disconnect harness
multiplug and remove switch.
6. Using a small screwdriver, depress trip keyboard upper
retaining tang and release ke yboard from gauge surround.
7. Position trip keyboard for ac cess and disconnect harness
multiplug.

Removal
1. Turn ignition switch to position II.
2. Motor driver and front passenger seats rearward.
3. Position steering wheel in stra ight ahead position and fully
lower and extend steering column.
4. Turn ignition switch to position O.
5. Remove battery cover and disc onnect ground cable from
battery terminal. Refer to 86.15.19.
6. Remove 'J' gate finish er. Refer to 76.25.24.
7. Remove 'J' gate finisher retain ing panel. Refer to 76.25.26.
8. Remove centre console veneer panel. Refer to 76.47.26.
9. Disconnect and remove radio.
10. Remove centre console switch module. Refer to 86.80.32.
11. Remove centre console. Refer to 76.25.01.
12. Slacken and remove centre cons ole vent duct rear securing
screw and withdraw duct assemb ly from air conditioning unit
manifold.
13. WARNING: BEFORE ANY AIRBAG/SRS SERVICE IS
PERFORMED, AT LEAST ONE MINUTE MUST ELAPSE AFTER
DISCONNECTION OF THE BATTERY CABLE, TO ALLOW
DISSIPATION OF BACK-UP POWER SUPPLY ENERGY.
Remove driver airbag. Refer to 76.73.39.
14. Remove steering wheel. Refer to Section 211-04.
15. Remove steering column lo wer cowl. Refer to 76.46.03.
16. Remove steering column u pper cowl. Refer to 76.46.02.
17. Remove driver side unders cuttle. Refer to 76.46.11.
18. Remove combined windshield wiper/washer switch and
audible warning speaker assembly. Refer to 86.65.42.
19. Remove glovebox. Refer to 76.52.03.
20. Remove 'A' post lower trim pads. refer to 76.13.30.
21. Carefully withdraw driver stowage bin trim, remove bin
securing screw and remove bin from facia.

44. Remove illumination control module.
1. Disconnect illumination control module harness
multiplug.
2. Slide module upwards to release it from facia.
45. Remove captive bolt retaining body processor module harness multiplug and disconnect multiplug.
46. Remove three nuts securing body processor module to facia
and remove module.
47. Turn facia around to fa ce outwards on bench.
48. Remove instrument panel veneer. Refer to 76.47.24.
49. Remove major gauge module. Refer to 88.20.24.
50. Remove and discard instrument panel veneer retaining plastic
inserts from facia.
51. Release in-car sensor/trunk release switch assembly from
facia for access and disconnect trunk release switch harness

23. WARNING: ENSURE THAT THE AIR BAG AND
RETAINING CLIPS ARE FULLY SEATED.
Install deployment door.
Install and fully seat deployment door retaining clips in
facia.
Install and fully seat deployment door in clips.
24. Position trunk release switch/housing at facia and connect in-
car sensor to housing.
25. Connect trunk release switch multiplug to facia harness and
install in-car sensor/trunk release switch assembly to facia.
26. Install new major gauge module retaining screw inserts to
facia.
27. Install major gauge module in facia. Refer to 88.20.24.
28. Install instrument panel veneer panel. Refer to 76.47.24.
29. Reposition facia on bench wi th back facing outwards.
30. Position body processor module in facia and install securing
nuts.

1. WARNINGS:
FOLLOWING DISCONNECTION OF THE BATTERY, A PERIOD
OF AT LEAST ONE MINUTE MUST BE ALLOWED TO ELAPSE
BEFORE ANY WORK IS CARRIED OUT ON AN AIR BAG MODULE.
IN THE EVENT OF A FAULT RUPTURING THE 10A BATTERY
SUPPLY FUSE (F4 LOCATED IN THE FUSE-BOX AT THE DRIVER'S
END OF THE FASCIA), THE FUSE MUST NOT BE RENEWED UNTIL
THE AIRBAG/SRS SYSTEM HAS BEEN DE-ACTIVATED. FUSES OF
ANY OTHER VALUE MUST NEVER BE USED, AS THIS CAN CAUSE
DISARM FAILURE.
Remove battery cover and disconnect ground cable from
battery terminal. Refer to 86.15.19.
2. Using a plastic lever, carefu lly release passenger airbag
deployment door from mounting cl ips, position for access and
remove and discard retaining clips.
3. Remove major gauge module veneer panel for access. Refer to
76.47.24.
4. Using a thin plastic lever, care fully release the four centre
veneer panel dowels from fascia clips.
5. Remove and discard the veneer pa nel to fascia securing clips.
