Secure the roof luggage rack to the fastening
points beneath covers 1.Comply with the installation instructions of the
roof luggage rack manufacturer.Secure the load on the roof luggage rack.
Cup holder
Installing the cup holder in or removing it from the center console
&WARNING !

InstallationInsert cup holder housing 1 into the stowage
compartment at a slight angle.Place cup holder housing 1 in the stowage
compartment, aligning the recesses with the
two hubs 2 so that they Nt.Push the cup holder down.LockingSlide locking catch 1 toward the side wall of
the center console.
The cup holder will be locked.RemovingSlide locking catch 1 toward the cup holder.
The cup holder will be unlocked.First pull the cup holder up in the direction of
arrow 2 and then tilt it slightly to remove it

Using the cup holderPlace a beverage container in the cup holder.Bottom 2 of the cup holder will lower auto-
matically and side walls 1 of the cup holder
will move forward automatically.\bThe cup holder will automatically adjust to the size of the container placed in it.The side walls of the cup holder can also be acti-vated manually in diMerent ways:
= Press the bottom down slightly with the bever-
age container.
= Press on the grooved surface on the side wall
of the cup holder.\bCheck whether the beverage container is held
Nrmly by the cup holder. Some beverage con-
tainers will not be secured adequately in the cup holder due to their shape or size.
Original position
When the cup holder is not in use, the side walls of the cup holder can be retracted manually. The
bracket arms of the cup holder will automatically
be retracted as well, and the cup holder\bs holding
function will then no longer be available.

Opening or closing the cup holder and small stow-

Press cover trim 1 a second time.
The mobile phone holder will be closed.\bThe mobile phone holder is designed for two
mobile phones or one tablet. The devices can also be charged in the holder by inserting thecharging cable into the devices through the
opening on the underside of the holder.\bObserve the notes on loading the vehicle
(  page 119).
Opening or closing the cup holders in the rear
armrest
To open: press cover trim 1 twice.
The cup holder will open in the direction of the
arrow.Place a container in or remove a container
from the cup holder.To close: slide the cup holder back into the
rear armrest.
Sockets
Using the 12 V socket
Requirements: = Only connect devices up to a maximum of
180 W (15 A).
Depending on the vehicle equipment, the vehicle
has 12 V sockets in the front passenger footwell
and in the cargo compartment.
Example: 12 V socket in the front passenger footwell
Fold up socket cap 1.Insert the plug of the device.Make sure that no cables are running through
or secured in the air bag deployment area
when using the socket. Also observe the notes

USB ports
Depending on its equipment, the vehicle has thefollowing USB ports:
= In the stowage compartment in the front cen-
ter console
= In the stowage compartment under the front
armrest
= In front of the stowage tray under the central
display of the multimedia system
= In the electronics compartment in the center
console of the rear passenger compartment
You can charge a USB device, such as a mobile phone, at the USB ports using a suitable charging
cable. Depending on the vehicle equipment, the
devices can be charged with up to 20 V (5 A)
when the vehicle is switched on.
Wireless charging of the mobile phone and con-
nection with the exterior antenna
Notes on wirelessly charging the mobile phone
&WARNING Risk of injury due to objects
being stowed incorrectly
If objects in the vehicle interior are stowed
incorrectly, they can slide or be thrown around
and hit vehicle occupants. In addition, cup
holders, open stowage spaces and mobile
phone receptacles cannot always retain all
objects within.
There is a risk of injury, particularly in the
event of sudden braking or a sudden change
in direction.
Always stow objects so that they cannot
be thrown around in such situations.Always make sure that objects do not
protrude from stowage spaces, parcel
nets or stowage nets.Close the lockable stowage spaces before starting a journey.Always stow and secure heavy, hard,
pointed, sharp-edged, fragile or bulky
objects in the trunk/cargo compart-
ment.Observe the notes on loading the vehicle.&WARNING Risk of Nre from placing objects
in the mobile phone storage compartment
Placing other objects in the mobile phone storage compartment could constitute a Nre
hazard.
Apart from a mobile phone, do not place
any other objects in the mobile phone
storage compartment, especially those
made of metal.*NOTE Damage to objects caused by plac-
ing them in the mobile phone storage
compartment
If objects are placed in the mobile phone stor-
age compartment, these may be damaged by
electromagnetic Nelds.

Do not place credit cards, storage
media, ski passes or other objects sensi-
tive to electromagnetic Nelds in the
mobile phone storage compartment.*NOTE Damage to the mobile phone stow-
age compartment caused by liquids
If liquids enter the mobile phone stowage
compartment, the compartment may be dam-
aged.
Ensure that no liquids enter the mobile phone stowage compartment.
Always observe the notes for persons with elec- tronic medical aids (  page 34).
= Depending on the vehicle equipment, the
mobile phone is connected to the vehicle\bs exterior antenna via the charging module.
= The charging function and wireless connection
of the mobile phone to the vehicle\bs exterior
antenna are only available if the vehicle is
switched on.
= Small mobile phones may not be able to be
charged in every position of the mobile phone stowage compartment.
= Large mobile phones which do not rest Oat in
the mobile phone stowage compartment may not be able to be charged or connected with
the vehicle\bs exterior antenna.
= The mobile phone may heat up during the
charging process. This may also depend on
the applications (apps) currently open in the
background.
= To ensure more ePcient charging and connec-
tion with the vehicle\bs exterior antenna,
remove the protective cover from the mobile
phone. Protective covers which are necessary
for wireless charging are an exception.
Wirelessly charging a mobile phone in the front
Requirements: = The mobile phone is suitable for wireless
charging.

Depending on the vehicle\bs equipment, the vehi-
cle has the following options for wirelessly charg-
ing a mobile phone in the cockpit:
= In the front stowage compartment of the cen-
ter console
Example: wirelessly charging the mobile phone in the
front stowage compartment (with MBUX hyper-
screen)

Place the mobile phone as close to the centerof mat 1 as possible with the display facing
upwards.
When the charging symbol is shown in the multi- media system, the mobile phone is being charged.
In addition, malfunctions during the mobile
phone\bs charging process will be shown on the multimedia system display.
\bThe mat can be removed for cleaning, e.g.
using clean, lukewarm water.
Wirelessly charging a mobile phone in the rear
passenger compartment
Requirements: = The mobile phone is suitable for wireless
charging.

Wireless charging in the rear passenger compart-
ment in vehicles without MBUX rear passenger com- partment tablet
Fold down the rear passenger compartment
armrest.Place the mobile phone as close to the center of mat 1 as possible with the display facing
upwards.
When the indicator lamp at the front of the mobile phone system lights up, the mobilephone is being charged. In addition, malfunc-
tions during the mobile phone\bs charging proc-
ess will be shown by the indicator lamp Oash-
ing three times.
Wireless charging in the rear passenger compart-
ment in vehicles with MBUX rear passenger compart- ment tablet
Fold down the rear passenger compartment
armrest.Open the stowage compartment in rear

of mat 2 as possible with the display facing
upwards.
