4.Pull the head of the pushpin out sospace between the head and body ofthe pushpin is about 0.626 in(15.9 mm).
Note:The pushpin should now be loose inthe bumper cover.
5.Pull the pushpin out from the bumpercover.
Note:Complete removal of the pushpinhead is not necessary to remove thepushpin. The head and stem of the pushpinmay come apart from the body of thepushpin during removal. The pushpin is notbroken. You can reinsert the head into thebody later during installation. Make sure toremove the body of the pushpin from thebumper cover to allow removal of thebumper cover.
6.Repeat Steps 2-4 to remove the restof the pushpins.
7.Remove the center front bumper cover.
Note:Avoid setting the front bumper coverdown on hard or sharp surfaces to preventdamage.
8.From behind the front bumper,disengage the lamp electricalconnector from the docking plug bypressing and holding down on therelease tab on the vehicle-sideconnector when pulling the connectorsapart from the docking plug.
Note:The docking plug is attached to thebumper and you do not need to remove itfrom the vehicle to perform this step.
9.Locate the tool pouch and remove thedocking plug protective caps stored inthe pouch during bumper end capremoval.
10.Insert the docking plug protective caponto the docking plug attached to thebumper and push together until youfeel them click together.
Note:It is important to reinstall the dockingplug protective cover on the docking plugto prevent damage to the vehicle lampconnector the next time you use the dockingplug.
Note:Make sure you do not press therelease tab on the lamp connector whenpushing the connectors together, this wayyou can feel them click together.

11.Use the hex tool to remove the threebolts from the bumper end cap lowerattachment and one bolt from thefront top attachment.
12.Loosen the top rear bolt of thebumper end cap.
Note:Make sure the bolt does not touchthe end cap
Note:You do not need to remove the bolt.Removal could cause damage to the bodypanel above the bolt. The end cap at thislocation has a slot to allow removal in thenext step.
13.Slide the end cap with the lampassembly straight in from the side ofthe vehicle.
Note:Make sure the front bumper end capslot is under the top rear bolt head on thebumper.
14.Align the holes in the end cap andbumper at the front lowerattachment.
15.Hand start the three bolts at the frontbumper end cap lower attachmentand the one bolt from the front topattachment.
Note:Do not tighten or torque the bolts.
16.Locate the lamp bolt stored in thetool pouch during the front bumperend cap removal.

17.From behind the bumper, hand startthe lamp bolt at the top center of thelamp housing.
Note:Do not tighten or torque the bolt.
18.Using the hex tool, tighten the fourbolts installed in Step 15. Thentighten the bolt loosened in Step 12.Lastly, tighten the bolt installed inStep 17.
Note:We recommend that you use a torquewrench to make sure that you tighten all thebolts to 16 lb.ft (22 Nm).
19.Insert the vehicle-side lamp wiringconnector onto the lamp plugattached to the lamp housing andpush together until you feel it clicktogether.
Note:Make sure you do not press therelease tab on the lamp connector whenpushing the connectors together, this wayyou can feel them click together.
Note:The lamp-side wiring connector isattached to the lamp housing and does notneed to be removed to perform this step.
20.To install the additional front bumpercap, repeat Steps 8-19 on theopposite side.
21.Reinstall the center front bumpercover in the original location.
22.Install the 17 pushpins removed inSteps 2-6. Do not press the pushpinheads in until all pushpins are inplace.
23.Lock the pushpins in place by pushingthe head in until it stops.
Note:There should be a gap of about0.10 in(2.5 mm) between the head and body ofthe pushpin.
24.Return the hex tool to the tool pouchwith the docking plug protective capsand lamp bolts, and then secure thetool pouch in the vehicle.

WARNING: Do not store removeddoors or roof panels in vehicle withoutusing the Ford onboard storage kit, andverifying they have been secured perinstructions. Failure to follow thisinstruction could result in personal injuryor death.
Note:Cargo can shift under severe vehicleuse, to reduce the risk of damage, avoid highspeed or extreme rock crawl off-roadsituations when storing the doors in thecargo area.
Note:Inspect the bags and harnessperiodically to make sure they are notdamaged. Inspect the door retentionharness straps to make sure there are nonicks, tears or cuts. Replace if necessary.

Storing the Front Roof Panels
1.Remove the front roof panels. SeeRemoving and Installing the FrontRoof Panel (page 385).
2.Open the bag and pull out the divider.Place the first panel into the bag.Replace the divider before placing thesecond panel into the bag.
3.Zip the bag closed.
4.Gently slide the roof panel bag into thecargo area.
Securing the Front Roof PanelsVertically
1.Raise the bag to the vertical position.
2.Secure the upper roof bag strap aroundthe rear seat headrests. Adjust thetension on the strap until it is snug.
Note:Do not overtighten the strap. Thismay cause damage to the headrest.
3.Secure the lower bag hooks to theforward cargo rings.
Note:Some vehicle accessories mayprevent vertical storage of the panels.

Securing the Front Roof PanelsHorizontally
1.Install the loops through the twoD-rings and secure the panels.
Note:Do not place objects on the roofpanel bag to avoid damaging the panels.
Securing the Door RetentionHarness
1.Install the eyebolts located in the Fordonboard storage kit into the rear cargoarea pillars.
2.Use the ratchet tool provided in the kitto assist in tightening the eyebolts. Theeyebolts should rest in the groove ofthe handle. Using the tool as a lever,apply force until fully tightened.

Note:We recommend tightening theeyebolts to 13 lb.ft (17 Nm).
Note:The eyebolts can remain installed onthe vehicle. Make sure the eyebolts are fullytightened each time they are used.
3.Fully open the tailgate and rear liftglass, or open the soft top cargo accessand connect the prop rod to hold open.
4.Install the door retention harness.
Note:Refer to harness label for image.
5.Attach upper straps 1 and 2 to theeyebolts. Attach lower straps 3 and 4to the forward cargo rings.
6.Place the narrow strap loop over all therear headrests and tighten until snug.
Note:Do not overtighten the strap. Thismay cause damage to the headrest.
7.Place the remaining harness over theseat so it is out of the way.
Storing the Front Doors
1.Adjust the seat backrest to the optimalseating position. Pull the lever up, andpush the backrest rearward whenstoring the two front doors. Thiscreates more space between the frontdoor sail and the upper trim. Make surethe cargo area is clear of any otheritems. See Adjusting the SeatBackrest (page 148).

3.Open the passenger side front door andinstall the door bag See Removingand Installing the Doors (page 376).

4.Zip the bag fully closed and gentlyplace the door in the cargo area. Avoidcontacting the rear pillars, speakers,striker, and trim. For soft tops, take careto avoid contacting the prop rod.
5.Slide the door into position with thebag label facing rearward. Center thedoor to make sure there is spacebetween the door and cargo box trimpanels.
6.Push the lower edge of the doorforward until it stops to create spacefor the door peak.
7.Secure the door bag to the retentionharness with the clip.
8.Repeat Steps 3-5 for the driver sidefront door. Secure the bags using theclips on the bags.
9.Lift the retention harness over thedoors. Make sure the straps arestraight.
10.Secure the upper straps 5 and 6 tothe eyelet bolts and lower straps 7and 8 to the rear cargo rings.
11.Tighten all adjustable straps tosecure the doors.
12.To prevent the doors from moving,fold the unused rear door bags to useas a spacer and place them betweenthe doors and lower cargo hooks asshown.
Note:The doors should not move whenpressure is applied.

12.Tighten all adjustable straps tosecure the doors and roof panels.
Note:The doors and roof panels should notmove when pressure is applied.
Storing all Four Doors
1.Adjust the rear seat backrest to theupright position and raise the centerheadrest to the highest position. Pullon the seat backrest to make sure thatit has fully latched. Make sure the cargoarea is clear of any other items. SeeAdjusting the Seat Backrest (page148).
