5.Locate the lower bodyside hinge andloosely install the door alignment pinby hand.
Note:The door alignment pin is includedwith your vehicle’s tool kit.
6.Lower the door on the body hinges.
Note:Make sure the doors are fully open.
Note:If the door hinge spacing is notadequate, loosen the hinge mounting bolts,adjust, and retighten.
7.Remove the alignment pin from thelower hinge.
8.Hand start the hinge pin bolts to theupper and lower door hinges.
9.Use the provided hex tool to tightenthe hinge pin bolts to 22 lb.ft (30 Nm).
10.Make sure the latch alignment iscorrect by gently closing the door. Ifthe alignment is not acceptable,make the necessary vertical orhorizontal adjustments. See LatchAlignment Adjustments later in thissection. If the alignment isacceptable, continue to Step 11.

11.Make sure that the door bumperarrow is aligned to the service coverplate mark.
12.Gently close the door to the fullyclosed position and make sure thatthe bumper is under slightcompression. If the bumper is notslightly compressed while the door isin the fully closed position, adjust thebumper as needed.
Note:To avoid body damage, do not slamthe door until the bumper adjustments arefinalized.
13.Open and close the installed door afew times to make sure it is properlyaligned and that it operates normally.
14.To install additional doors, repeatSteps 3-13.
15.Return the hex tool and dooralignment pin to the tool kit andsecure the tool kit in the vehicle’scenter console.
16.Return the mirrors to the drivingposition.
Note:Rear seat occupant alert does notfunction with tube doors.
Latch Alignment Adjustments
Vertical Adjustments
To make vertical adjustments:
1.Loosen the upper and lower hingemounting bolts.
2.Engage the latch on the striker to makesure it is properly aligned.
3.Tighten the upper and lower hingemounting bolts, but do not apply finaltorque.
4.Disengage and reengage the latch fromthe striker and confirm properalignment.
5.Tighten the upper and lower hingemounting bolts to 41 lb.ft (55 Nm).
Horizontal Adjustments
To make horizontal adjustments:

2.Add or remove shims as necessary toattain proper latch alignment, startwith no shims.
3.Tighten the upper and lower hingemounting bolts, but do not apply finaltorque.

5.Tighten the upper and lower hingemounting bolts to 41 lb.ft (55 Nm).
Removing the Doors
WARNING: Removal of doors foroff-road use only. Removing the doorsfrom the vehicle will affect protectionprovided by the doors and may affectsafety system performance, includingsafety canopy and front seat mountedside airbags, during a crash or rollover.
1.Switch your vehicle off.
2.Fold the mirrors completely toward thefront of your vehicle before removingthe front doors.
3.Fully open the door you are removing.
4.Use the provided hex tool to loosenand remove the lower hinge bolt.
5.Loosen and remove the upper hingebolt.
Note:You can store the hinge bolts in thetool pouch zipped pocket, if needed.
6.Lift the door vertically to separate itfrom the vehicle.
Note:Use caution when removing the doorsas they are heavy.
Note:Store the doors in a secure area.
Note:Store the doors out of the elementsto prevent damage.
7.To remove additional doors, repeatSteps 3-6.
8.Return the hex tool to the tool kit andsecure the tool kit in the vehicle’scenter console.
9.Return the mirrors to the drivingposition.
Note:When you remove the doors, the rearseat occupant alert no longer functions.
Note:When you remove the doors or whenyou have tube doors installed on the vehicle,a warning message related to the electricalsystem appears on the instrument clusterdisplay with each ignition cycle. Themessage no longer displays when all factorydoors are re-installed. If the messagepersists after you install all factory doors,check the wiring connectors on all the doorsto confirm that you properly connectedthem.
Cleaning the Tube Doors
We recommend that you wash the tubedoors with mild soap and rinse with astandard pressure water hose. Whilerinsing, avoid spraying water directly ontothe latch mechanism. Dry with a microfibercloth or leave to air dry.

Remove the front panels and center panelbefore removing the rear roof panel.
1.Open the rear doors.
2.Open the tailgate window. SeeOpening and Closing the Windows(page 113).
3.Locate the wire harness and washerhose on the driver side rear insidecorner of the vehicle.
4.Release the locking tab by pushing itdown.
5.Push the tab inward when pulling downto disconnect and remove the wiringharness.
6.Push the release button on the hoseconnector and pull down to removethe washer hose.

7.Secure the wiring harness to the bodyside by plugging it into the receptacleand pushing up on the locking tab.
8.Secure the washer hose by snapping itinto the top of the body sidereceptacle.
9.Remove the two fasteners that securethe rear roof panel at the C-pillar usingthe provided head driver and ratchet.
10.Remove the four fasteners on eachside of your vehicle that secure therear roof panel to the vehicle usingthe provided head driver and ratchet.
11.With the tailgate window open, grabthe opening with one hand andslightly lift with the other hand. Liftthe rear roof panel straight up andoff. Place the rear roof panel on a softsurface to prevent damage.
Note:Store the rear roof panel with thetailgate window open to prevent damageto the glass seal.
12.To install, reverse the removalprocedure. Torque the fasteners thatsecure the rear roof panel to yourvehicle to 15 ± 2 lb.ft (20 ± 3 Nm).
Note:Make sure the locating pins on therear roof panel sit flush in your vehicle wheninstalled.
Note:Do not overtighten the fasteners. Youcan strip the fasteners if they areovertightened.
