quirements for In-Car O1ce:
R The In-Car O1ce service is activated in your
Mercedes me user account.

R You ha veset a Mercedes me PIN.
R You ha vesynchronised your Mercedes me
user account in theve hicle and via Mercedes
me.
R You ha vea user account with an online
service, e.g. with O1ce 365 or Gmail, and
ha ve connected the user account with In-Car
O1ce.
Alternatively you can link this user account
from the multimedia system toyour Mercedes
me user account. You will be o.ered a QR
code that will take youto thewe bsite from
which you can make the link.

functions on your mobile phone via the multime-
dia system displa y.
Only one mobile phone at a time can be connec-
te d via Smartphone Integ ration tothe multimedia
system. Also for use with two phone mode with
smartphone integ ration, only one additional
mobile phone can be connec ted using Blue tooth ®
with the multimedia system.
The full range of functions for Smartphone Inte-
gr ation is only possible with an Internet connec-
tion. The appropriate application must be down- loaded on
the mobile phone touse Smartphone
Integ ration. The mobile phone must be switched
on and connec tedto the multimedia system via
th e USB port using a suitable cable.

When using Smartphone Integ ration, cer tain vehi-
cle data is transfer redto the mobile phone. This
enables youto get the best out of selected mobile
phone services. Vehicle data is not directly acces-
sible.
The following system information is transmitted:
R SoTware release of the multimedia system
R System ID (anonymised)
The transfer of this data is used tooptimise com-
munication between theve hicle and the mobile
phone.
To do this, and toassign se veralve hicles tothe
mobile phone, a vehicle identi/er is random lyge n-
erated.
This has no connection totheve hicle identi/ca-
tion number (VIN) and is dele ted when the multi-
media system is reset (/ page 386).
The following driving status data is transmitted:
R Transmission position engaged
R Distinction between par ked, standstill, rolling

The transfer of this data is used toalter how con-

The Mercedes-Benz emer gency call system is not

The following applies for bo themer gency call sys-
te ms:
R The transfer of speci/c data is requ ired forthe
intended function of bo themer gency call sys- te
ms. This will be explained in the "Data trans-
fe r" section (/ page 412).
R Both emer gency call systems are included as
standa rdequipment in your vehicle and are
activated at thefa ctor y.
R The use of bo themer gency call systems is
ex em ptfrom charge s.
R Both emer gency call systems only function in
areas in which the mobile phone network pro-
viders o.er mobile phone co verage.

age from the mobile phone network providers
can result in an emer gency call not being

R The Mercedes-Benz emer gency call system is permanently logged in to
th e mobile phone networ k.
R Automatic and manual Mercedes-Benz emer gency calls are transmitted
to a Mercedes-Benz emer gency call centre.
In theev ent that the emer gency call centre of the Mercedes-Benz emer-
ge ncy call system cannot be reached (e.g. due toa lack of network co v-
erage), the 112 emer gency call is ca rried out automaticall y.R
Ifyo u decide on the 112 emer gency call system (EU eCall) onl y,then the
system only logs in tothe mobile phone network aTer the triggering of a
manual or automatic emer gency call.
R The 112 emerg ency call system (EU eCall) transmits automatic and
manual emer gency calls directly topublic coordination centres. %
The 112 emer gency call system (EU eCall) in
yo ur vehicle meets the delegated regulation
EU 2017/79. Proper and full functionality of
th e 112 emer gency call system (EU eCall)
depends on circumstances be yond the in0u-
ence of Mercedes-Benz AG. This includes
mobile network co verage and thete ch nical
infrastructu reofthe public reception cent res
in there specti vecount ries.
% Please obser vethat in theev ent of a repair
ge nuine Mercedes-Benz bat teries must be
used which ha vebeen certi/ed pursuant to
th e delegated regulation EU 2017/79 (Appen- dix I). Other manu
facturers are also permitted
pr ov ided their batteries are certi/ed accord-
ing tothe delegated regulation EU 2017/79.
There is the option of deactivating the Mercedes-
Benz emer gency call system and using only the
112 emer gency call system (EU eCall). Contact
add ress for car rying out deactivation of the
Mercedes-Benz emerg ency call system arethe
local dealers. Mercedes-Benz
recommends the activation of the
Mercedes-Benz emerg ency call systemforth efo l-
lowing reasons:
R In emer gency situations when abroad, you can
also get support in a langua geyou speak.
R Several transmission tech nologies are used to
accelerate the transfer of the accident data
and impr overeliability of the transmission.
R The Mercedes-Benz emer gency call system is
permanently logged in tothe mobile phone
networ k,which ensu resfa ster placement of 410 410

accident data.
Measu resfo rre scue, reco very or towing away
can then be initiated in quickl y.
R With a Mercedes-Benz emer gency call, the
accident data is only transfer redto the public
coordination centre with the appr oval of the

In theev ent of an automatically triggered
emer gency call in which there is no voice con-
ta ct, the accident data is transmitted immedi-
ately tothe public emer gency call centre.
R Ifth e Mercedes-Benz emer gency call centre is
not available, the 112 emer gency call is ca r-

as well as the 112 emer gency call system (EU
eCall) can help toreduce the time between an
accident and the ar riva l of emer gency services at
th e site of the accident. They help locate an acci-
dent site in places that are di1cult toaccess. Bo
th emer gency call systems can initia tean emer-
ge ncy call automatically (/ page 411) or man-
ual ly ( / page 412).
Only make emer gency calls if you or others are in
need of rescue. Do not make an emer gency call in
th eev ent of a breakdown or a similar situation.

on or the emer gency call system is malfunc-
tioning. This does not necessarily indicate

The display only refers to theve hicle and does
not take account of theav ailability of mobile
phone networ ksand the Mercedes-Benz emer-
ge ncy call centre.
The functional readiness of the emer gency call
system on theve hicle can be seen when the
SOS NOT READY displaydisappears once the
ve hicle is switched on. R
G: The icon appears in the display during
an active emer gency call.
% Ifth ere is a malfunction of the emer gency call
system, the loudspeakers, microphone, airbag
or the SOS button, forex ample, are faulty.
