Install these updates, or else the security of your
multimedia system cannot be ensured.
The multimedia system displa ysa cor responding

If
th eAutomatic online update option is active,
soTware updates are downloaded automaticall y.If
th e option is deactivated, you will be informed of
new soTware updates once. The soTware updates
are available for downloading for a limited period
of time.
Car rying out a soTware update:
R You can start soTware updates via the com-
munication module.
R You can start soTware updates via a Wi-Fi hot-
spot.
R You can start map updates from an extern al
medium.
% Online soTware updates cann otbe per form ed
via extern al Wi -Fi hotspots that are encryp ted
using TKIP.
% Tocomple tesoTware updates via the commu-
nication module, theve hicle must be connec-
te d with the Internet and a Mercedes me user
account.
% Tocomple tesoTware updates via Wi-Fi, the
ve hicle must be connected toan extern al Wi-
Fi hotspot. A soTware update consists of
thre e steps:
R Downloading or copying of the data requ ired
fo r installation
R Installation of the downloaded soTware
update
R Activation of the downloaded soTware update.
% It may be necessary torestart the MBUX mul-
timedia system aTer completion of a soTware
update.
% While some soTware updates are being down-
loaded, the multimedia system cannot be
operated and theve hicle functions may be
re stric ted.
% Some soTware updates requ ire a safe vehicle
status forth e installation tobe comple ted.

During the installation of soTware updates, it is
not possible touse theve hicle, cent ral display
and driver displa y.Yo u may receive thefo llowing
display message when an installation is running: %
The display message does not appearevery
time a soTware update is ins talled.
In rare cases, an er ror can occur during the ins tal-
lation. The multimedia system automatically
attem ptsto restore the pr evious version. MBUX multimedia system

If th e driver display fails or there is a malfunction,
yo u may not recognise limitations in the functions
of systems releva nt tosaf ety or the speed displa y,
fo rex ample. The operating saf ety of theve hicle
may be impaired. Drive on carefully and ha vethe
ve hicle checked at a quali/ed specialist workshop
immediately (/ page 515).

te ms such as there ve rsing camera, PARKTRONIC
or climate control are no longer available. Drive
on carefully and consult a specialist workshop as

be connected.

The connection types shown depend on the
device tobe connected. The function must be

nection established must be selected on the
multimedia system and on the device tobe

nection can be established with the MBUX rear
ta blet.

The Rapid charging function increases the maxi-
mum possible charging capacity at charging sta-
tions up to60 kW in order tocharge theve hicle's
high- voltage battery faster. ATer thech arging

"S tandard" charging prog ram is again limited to
20 kW in order toprotect the high-voltage batter y.
