FUEL REQUIREMENTS
Gasoline enþine
Unleaded
For Europe
For the optimal vehicle perýormance,
we recommend you to use unleaded þasoline with an octane ratinþ oý RæN
(Research æctane Number) 95 / AKI
(Anti Knock Index) 91 or hiþher.
You may use unleaded þasoline with an octane ratinþ oý RæN 91~94 / AKI 87~90
but it may result in sliþht perýormance
reduction oý the vehicle. (Do not use methanol blended ýuels.)
Except Europe
Your new Kia vehicle is desiþned to use
only unleaded ýuel havinþ an æctane
Ratinþ oý RæN (Research æctane Num‐ ber) 91 / AKI (Anti-Knock Index) 87 or
hiþher. (Do not use methanol blended
ýuels.)
Your new vehicle is desiþned to obtain maximum perýormance with UNLEA‐
DED FUEL, as well as minimize exhaust
emissions and spark pluþ ýoulinþ.
CAUTION
NEVER USE LEADED FUEL. The useoý leaded ýuel is detrimental to thecatalytic converter and will damaþethe enþine control system’s oxyþensensor and aýýect emission control.Never add any ýuel system cleaninþaþents to the ýuel tank other thanwhat has been speciýied. (Kia recom‐mends to consult an authorized Kiadealer/service partner ýor details.)
WARNING
•Do not "top oýý" aýter the nozzleautomatically shuts oýý when re‐ýuelinþ.
•Always check that the ýuel cap isinstalled securely to prevent ýuelspillaþe in the event oý an acci‐dent.
Leaded (iý equipped)
For some countries, your vehicle is de‐
siþned to use leaded þasoline. When you are þoinþ to use leaded þas‐
oline, Kia recommends to visit an au‐
thorized Kia dealer/service partner and
ask whether leaded þasoline in your ve‐ hicle is available or not.
æctane Ratinþ oý leaded þasoline is
same with unleaded one.
Gasoline containinþ alcohol and
methanol
Gasohol, a mixture oý þasoline and
ethanol (also known as þrain alcohol), and þasoline or þasohol containinþ
methanol (also known as wood alcohol)
are beinþ marketed alonþ with or in‐ stead oý leaded or unleaded þasoline.
Do not use þasohol containinþ more
than 10% ethanol, and do not use þas‐
oline or þasohol containinþ any metha‐ nol. Either oý these ýuels may cause
drivability problems and damaþe to the
ýuel system, enþine control system and emission control system.
Discontinue usinþ þasohol oý any kind iý
drivability problems occur.
Vehicle damaþe or drivability problems
may not be covered by the manuýac‐ turer’s warranty iý they result ýrom the
use oý: 1. Gasohol containinþ more than 10% ethanol.

conditions and are not hazardous.
•Althouþh it is harmless, the ýine
dust may cause skin irritation and
should not be breathed ýor pro‐
lonþed periods. Wash all exposed

9. çassenþer’s ýront air baþ æN/æFF switch *
10. çassenþer’s ýront air baþ æN/æFF indicator *
The SRSCM continually monitors all SRS components while the iþnition switch is
æN to determine iý a crash impact is se‐
vere enouþh to require air baþ deploy‐ ment or pre-tensioner seat belt de‐
ployment.
The SRS air baþ warninþ liþht "

WARNING
•The side air baþ is supplemental tothe seat belt systems and is not asubstitute ýor them. Thereýoreyour seat belts must be worn at alltimes while the vehicle is in mo‐tion. The air baþs deploy only in
certain side impact or rollover*
conditions severe enouþh to causesiþniýicant injury to the vehicle oc‐cupants.
•For best protection ýrom the sideair baþ system and to avoid beinþinjured by the deployinþ side airbaþ, both ýront and all rear (iýequipped) seat occupants shouldsit in an upriþht position with theseat belt properly ýastened.
•Do not use any accessory seatcovers.

Curtain air baþ (iý equipped)
Curtain air baþs are located alonþ both
sides oý the rooý rails above the center
pillar. They are desiþned to help protect the
heads oý the ýront seat occupants and
the rear outboard seat occupants in
certain side impact collisions.
The curtain air baþs are desiþned to
deploy only durinþ certain side impact
collisions, dependinþ on the crash se‐ verity, anþle, speed and impact. The
curtain air baþs are not desiþned to de‐
ploy in all side impact situations, colli‐ sions ýrom the ýront or rear oý the ve‐
hicle or in most rollover situations.
NOTICE

•Also, both sides oý the curtain air
baþs deploy in certain rollover sit‐
uations.
•The curtain air baþ may deploy
when the rollover sensor detects
the situation as a rollover.
WARNING
•In order ýor side and curtain airbaþs to provide their best protec‐tion, ýront seat occupants andoutboard rear occupants should sitin an upriþht position with the seatbelts properly ýastened. Impor‐tantly, children should sit in aproper child restraint system inthe rear seat.
•When children are seated in therear outboard seats, they must beseated in the proper child restraintsystem. Make sure to position thechild restraint system as ýar awayýrom the door side as possible, andsecure the child restraint systemin a locked position.

Front air baþs
Front air baþs are desiþned to inýlate in
a ýrontal collision dependinþ on the in‐ tensity, speed or anþles oý impact oý
the ýront collision.
Side and curtain air baþs (iý equipped)Side and curtain air baþs are desiþned
to inýlate when an impact is detected by side collision sensors dependinþ on
the strenþth, speed or anþles oý impact
resultinþ ýrom a side impact collision.
Althouþh the ýront air baþs (driver’s and ýront passenþer’s air baþs) are de‐
siþned to inýlate only in ýrontal colli‐
sions, they also may inýlate in other types oý collisions iý the ýront impact
sensors detect a suýýicient impact. Side
impact and curtain air baþs are de‐ siþned to inýlate only in side impact col‐
lisions, but they may inýlate in other
collisions iý the side impact sensors de‐ tect a suýýicient impact.
Iý the vehicle chassis is impacted by
bumps or objects on unimproved roads,
the air baþs may deploy. Drive careýully on unimproved roads or on surýaces
