the components liable to affect the
emission of the gaseous pollutants in
the vehicle in normal use despite the
use to which it may be subjected\b
comply with the provisions of Rule 115(2) of the Central Motor Vehicle
Rules\b 1989 hereinafter referred to
as the “Inuse emission standard”\b
and further warrants that if on exam
ination by a dealer duly authorized
by HMIL\b the vehicle is discovered to
be failing to meet the Inuse emis
sion standard as specified in the said
rule\b our Authorized Dealer shall take
such corrective measures as may be
necessary and shall at its sole dis
cretion either repair or replace free of
charge\b such components of emis
sion control system as are specified
in paragraph 3 hereof.
1. Warranty period
This warranty will be in addition to
and run parallel to the New Vehicle
Warranty and shall exist for a period
of 36 months or until the vehicle has
been driven for a distance of 8\f\b\f\f\f
kilometers from the date of delivery
to the first purchaser\b whichever
occurs first. This warranty is transfer
able to subsequent owner for the
remaining warranty period.
2. What is covered Our Authorized Dealers shall either
repair or replace\b any Hyundai gen
uine part listed in paragraph 3 here
of\b that is acknowledged by HMIL to
be defective in material or workman
ship within the warranty period stipu
lated above\b after examinations car
ried out to confirm that none of the
original settings have been tampered
with\b at no cost to the owner of the
Hyundai vehicle for parts or labour.
Such defective par ts which have
been replaced will become the prop
erty of HMIL.

4. What is not covered
This Emission Warranty shall not apply to:
o Normal maintenance ser vices including without limitation\b
engine tuning\b oil/fluid changes\b
filters replenishment\b etc.
o Replacement of parts as a result of normal wear and tear such as
spark plugs\b filters\b etc.
o The vehicle reported without valid ‘Pollution Under Control’ certifi
cate for the period immediately
preceding the test during which
the failure is discovered.
o The vehicle which has been run on adulterated fuel or lubricant or
fuel/lubricants other than those
specified by HMIL.
o Damage or failure resulting from: vNegligence of proper mainte
nance as required in this
Owner’s Manual and Service Booklet.
v Misuse\b abuse\b accident\b theft\b
flooding or fire.
v Use of improper or insufficient
fuel\b fluids or lubricants.
v Any repair carried out other
than by Hyundai Authorized
Dealer/ Service Centre.
v Use of par ts other than
Hyundai Genuine Parts.
v Any device and/or accessories
not supplied by HMIL.
v Modifications\b alterations\b
tampering or improper repair.
v Parts used in applications for
which they were not designed
or not approved by HMIL.
v Any penalties that may be
charged by statutory authori
ties on account of failure to
comply with the Inuse emis
sion standards.
v The vehicle in which the
odometer has been tampered
with\b changed or been discon
nected.
o Any consequential repairs or replacement of parts which may
be found necessary to establish
compliance to Inuse emission

under Emission Warranty\b will not
be made free of cost unless such
parts are also found to be in war
rantable condition within the
scope and limit of the New
Vehicle Warranty.
o Incidental or consequential dam ages\b including without limitation\b
loss of time\b inconvenience\b loss
of use of vehicle or commercial
loss.
This warranty is the entire warranty
given by HMIL for Hyundai vehicles
and no dealer or its or his agent or
employee is authorized to extend or
enlarge this warranty and no dealer
or its or his agent or employee is
authorized to make any oral warran
ty on HMIL’s behalf.
HMIL reserves the right to make any
change in design or make any
improvement on the vehicle at any
time without any obligation to make
the same change on vehicles previ
ously sold.
HMIL reserves the right for the final
decision in all warranty matters. OWNER'S RESPONSIBILITIES
o Proper use\b maintenance and care of vehicle in accordance with
the instructions contained in this
Owner’s Manual and Ser vice
Booklet. If the vehicle is subject
to severe usage conditions\b such
as operation in extremely dusty\b
rough\b more repeated short dis
tance driving or heavy city traffic
during hot weather\b maintenance
of vehicle should be done more
frequently as mentioned in this
Owner’s Manual and Ser vice
Booklet.
o In order to maintain the validity of this Emission Warranty\b the vehi
cle must be serviced by Hyundai
Authorized Dealer or Ser vice
Centre in accordance to the
Owner’s Manual and Ser vice
Booklet.
o Retention of maintenance service records. It may be necessary for
the customer to show that the
required maintenance has been
performed\b as specified in this
Owner’s Manual and Ser vice
Booklet.
o Immediate Delivery of the vehicle to any authorized Hyundai Dealer upon discovery of failure to comply
with the Inuse emission standard
inspite of proper use\b mainte
nance and care of vehicle in
accordance with the instructions
contained in this Owner’s Manual
and Service Booklet.
o Production of “Pollution Under Control" (PUC) certificate valid for
the period immediately preceding
the test during which the failure is
discovered\b the test having been
carried out either for obtaining a
new certificate\b or pursuant upon
being directed by an officer as
referred to in subrule (2) of Rule
116 of the Central Motor Vehicles
Rules.
