door lock is activated
If th e additional door lock is activated, the
doors can no longer be opened from the
inside.
If th ere are persons in theve hicle, they can
no longer le aveth eve hicle, e.g. in hazardous
situations. #
Never lea vepersons unattended in the
ve hicle, particularly children, elderly
persons or persons in need of help. #
Ifth ere are persons in theve hicle, do
not activate the additional door loc k. The additional door lock is automatically activa‐
te d:
R After locking theve hicle with thekey.
R After locking theve hicle using KEYLESS-GO.
% After locking theve hicle, the horn can be
operated for a short time.
% After locking theve hicle, pressing the button
to centrally unlock theve hicle from inside
will trigger an alarm (→ page72). If
th e additional door lock is activated, the doors
cann otbe opened from the inside.

If th eve hicle has been par kedfo r longer than
two weeks, the NFC aerial in the door handle is
deactivated. #

The NFC aerial is activated. #
Touch the door handle on the driver's door in
th e area where NFC aerial 1is located with
th e part of the mobile phone where the NFC
aerial is located.
The vehicle is loc ked or unloc ked alternately.
If yo u lose your mobile phone, deactivate the
"digital vehicle key" service in Mercedes me con‐
nect via http://www.mercedes.me. %

Ifyo u wish tolock theve hicle entirely using
th e emer gency key element, firs t press the
button for locking from the inside while the
driver's door is open. Then proceed tolock
th e driver's door using the emer gency key
element. #
Insert the emer gency key as far as it will go
into opening 1inthe co ver. #
Pull and hold the door handle. #
Pull the co ver on the emer gency key as
st ra ight as possible away from theve hicle
until it releases. #
Release the door handle. #
Tounlo ck:turn the emer gency key anti-
clo ckwise toposition 1. #
Tolock: turnthe emer gency key clo ckwise to
position 1.
% Right-hand drive vehicles: turnthe emer‐
ge ncy key in the opposite direction in each
case. #
Carefully press the co ver onto the lock cylin‐
der until it engages and is seated firm ly. Boot

WARNING Risk ofexhaust gas poisoning
Combustion engines emit poisonous exhaust
ga ses such as carbon monoxide. Exhaust
ga ses can enter theve hicle interior if the
boot lid is open when the engine is running,
especially if theve hicle is in motion. #
Alw ays switch off the engine before
opening the boot lid. #
Never drive with the boot lid open. 76

ing feature: withthe boot lid stopped in an intermediate position, pull it upwards and
re
lease as soon as it begins toopen.
Wi th th e boot lid opening limiter switched on,
manually pull thestopped boot lid upwards.
Ve hicles with boot lid conve nience closing:if
an object restricts the boot lid during the auto‐
matic opening process, the obs tacle de tection
st ops the boot lid. The obs tacle de tection func‐
tion is only an aid and is not a substitu teforyo ur

If objects, luggage or loads are not secured
or not secured suf ficientl y,they could slip,
tip ove r or be throw n around and thereby hit
ve hicle occupants.
