Cockpit over view
Indicator lights
Description
The indicato r lights in the inst rument cluste r
b link or t urn on. They indicate funct ions or ma l­
functions .
Messages may appear with some indicator lights .
A wa rni ng signal w ill sound at the same time.
The indica to r lights and messages in the instru­
ment cluster display can be covered by other d is­
p lays. To show them again, select the second tab
with the mu ltifunction steering wheel
¢ page 12 .
If there are several malfunctions, you can display
them one at a time using the thumbwheel.
Some ind icator lights in the disp lay can display in
several colors .
& Central indicator light
If the . or Q indicator light turns on, check
the message in the instrument cluster .
Overview
Some indicator lights turn on briefly as a function
check when you switch the ign ition on . These sys­
tems are marked with a./ in the following tables .
I f one of these indicato r lights does not turn on,
there is a malfunction in that system .

With th e garag e door open er (Homelink), you
can activate systems such as the garage doors,
security systems or house lights from inside you r
veh icle. Three buttons are integrated in the head­
liner that can be programmed to up to three re­
mote controls .
To be able to operate systems u sing the gar age
door opener, the buttons in the headliner must
first be programmed .
_& WARNING
When operating or programming the garage
door opener, make sure that no people or ob­
jects are in the area immediately surrounding
the equipment. Peop le can be injured or prop­
erty can be damaged if struck when closing .

- For security reasons, we recommend that
you clear the programmed buttons before selling the vehicle .

-The garage door opener may need to be

- The programming process can take up to 30 seconds. The hand transmitter may need to
be operated again during the process.
- Make sure the batteries in the hand trans­
mitter are charged before starting the pro­
gramming process.

(D -Rain sensor mode. The winds hield wipers
switch on once the vehicle speed exceeds app rox ­
imately 2 mph (4 km/h) and it is raining. The
h igher the sensitivity of the rain sensor that is set
(switch ® to the right), the earlier the wind·
shie ld wipers react to moisture on the wind­
shield . You ca n deactivate the rain sensor mode
in the Infota inment system, which switches the
intermittent mode on. To do th is, select :

onds of the afterwipe . The afterwipe function is
reactivated the next time you switch the ignit ion
o n .
Clean the headlights*. The headlight washer sys­
tem* operates only when the low beam head­ lights are o n. If you move t he lever to posit io n
® · the headlights and the night v is io n assist
camera* are cleaned at inte rva ls .
® -Wipe t he rear window. The number of w ipes
depe nds on the windsh ield wiper movement .
The rear wiper automat ica lly switches on when
the reverse gear is selected and the front wind­
shield wipers are on and running.
(J) -Clean the rear window . The number of wipes
depends on how long the lever is held in pos ition
(J) .
A WARNING
-The rain sensor is on ly intended to ass ist the
d river. The drive r may still be responsib le
for manually switching the wipers on based on visibili ty cond itions .
- The winds hield may not be t reated w ith wa ­
ter- repelling w indshield coating agents. Un­
f a vorable co ndit io ns, su ch as wet ness, da rk­
ness o r low su n, can resu lt in increased
g la re, which increases the risk of an acci­
dent . Wiper blade chatter is also possib le.

closed while dr iving to reduce the risk of in­
jury .
- Only use the storage compartments in the
door trim panels to store small objects that
will not stick out of the compartment and
impair the range of the side airbags.
- Make sure that the view to the rear is not
obstructed by hanging garments.
- Hang only lightweight clothing and be sure
that there are no heavy or sharp-edged ob­
jects in the pockets.
- Do not use coat hangers to hang the cloth­
ing because this could impair the effective­
ness of the side curtain airbags .
