App lies to vehicles: with e ngin e speed limitat ion
Ill Engine speed maximum XXXX RPM
The engine speed is automatically limited to the
speed displayed in the instrument cluster. This
protects the eng ine from overheating.
The engine speed limitation deactivates once the
engine is no longer in the critical temperature
range and you have released the accelerator ped­
al.
If the engine speed limitation was activated by
an engine control malfunction, the
Im indicator
light also turns on. Make sure that the speed
does not go above the speed d isplayed. Drive to
an authorized Audi dealer or authorized Audi
Service Facility immediately to have the malfunc­
tion corrected .

• Oil level! Sensor defective
If the symbol illuminates, contact your author­
ized Audi dealer and have the oil sensor inspect ­
ed. Until you have th is done, check the oil level
each time you refuel just to be on the safe side

Fuel has entered the engine oil, either from low
outside temperatures or frequent short d rives.
Drive until the engine is warm so that the fuel in
the eng ine oi l wi ll evaporate. Avoid high eng ine
speeds, full accelerating and heavy engine loads
when doing this .

Vehicle lights: Malfunction
There is a malfunction in the headlights or the
light switch.

Ligh ts a nd Vi sion
by moving the lever to position ® within 10 sec ­
onds after the afterwipe. The afterwipe function
is reactivated the next time you switch the ign i­
tion on.
Cleaning the headlights *. The headlight washer
system* operates only when the low beam head­ lights are on. If you move the lever to position
® , the headlights and the night vision assist
camera* are washed in intervals.
A WARNING
-The rain sensor is only intended to assist the
dr iver . The driver is st ill responsible for
manually switching the wipers on according
to the v is ibility conditions.
- The w indshield may not be treated w ith wa­
te r-repell ing windsh ield coating agents. Un­
favorable conditions, such as wetness, dark­ ness or low sun, can resu lt in increased
glare, which increases the risk of an acci ­
dent. Wiper blade chatter is also possible.
- Properly functioning w indshield w iper
blades are required for a clear view and safe
driving ~

- If there is frost, make sure the windshield
wiper blades are not frozen to the wind ­
s h ield. Switching on the winds hield wipers
when the blades are frozen to the wind­
sh ield can damage the wiper blades.
- Prior to using a car wash, the winds hield
wiper system must be switched off (lever in
position 0). This prevents unintentional
switching on and damage to the w indshield
wiper system.
(Di Tips
- The windshield wipers switch off when the
i gnition is turned off. You can act ivate the
windsh ield wipers after the ignition is
switched back on by moving the windsh ield
wiper lever to any pos it ion.
- Worn or dirty windshield w iper blades result
i n streaking. This can affect the rain sensor
so
f unction. Check your w indshield wiper
blades regu larly .
- T he washer fluid nozz les o f the windshie ld
washer system are heated at low tempera­
t ur es when the ignition is on.
- When stopping temporarily, such as at a traffic light, the speed of the windshield
wipers automatica lly reduces by one leve l.
Cleaning windshield wiper blades
Clean the wiper blades when you see wiper
streaks. Use a soft cloth and a glass cleaner.

Engine oil specifications
The engine oil used must conform to exact speci ­
fications.
The service inte rval disp lay in the instr ument
cl us ter of your vehicle will inform you whe n it i s
time for an oi l change . We recommend that you
have your oil changed by an authorized A ud i Serv­
i ce Advisor .
If you have to top off the o il between oi l changes,
use the Audi oil quality standard specifie d in the

Never use a fast charger as a booster to start
the engine . This w ill seriously damage sensi­
tive electron ic components, such as control
units, relays, radio, etc., as well as the battery
charger.
Battery replacement
The new battery must have the same specifica­
tions and dimensions as the original equipment
battery .
Intelligent energy management in your vehicle is
responsible for distributing the electrica l energy
throughout your vehicle
c:> page 194. The intell i­
gent energy management system will keep the
engine battery charged better than vehicles w ith­
out this system . To make sure the additional elec­
tr ical energy is available once again after you
have changed the battery, we recommend that
you install batteries of the same type and manu­ facture only (the same as those installed at the
time your veh icle was delivered). Specif ications
are listed on the battery housing. Your author­
ized dealer must code the battery in the energy
management system to enable you to use the en­
e rgy management functions correctly after re­
p lacing the battery.
The new battery must have the same capacity ,
voltage (12-volts), amperage, construction and plug sealing .
When installing the battery, make sure the igni­
tion and all electrical consumers are switched off.
Make sure the ventilation hose on the s ide of
the battery is connected, otherwise fumes or
battery acid can leak out.
- Vehicles with the Start-Stop-System* are equipped with a special cycle-proof AGM battery. Installing a different type of bat­
tery can cause problems in the vehicle elec­
trical system. When replacing the vehicle
battery, always install one with the same
specifications as the original battery.
Checking and Filling
{® For the sake of the environment
Because of the prob lem of proper disposal of
a battery, we recommend your authorized
Audi dealer change the battery for you. Bat­
teries contain sulfur ic acid and lead and must
always be disposed of properly in compliance
with all environmental regulations. Disposing
of vehicle batteries improperly is very danger­
ous to the environment.

The Gross Axle Weight Rating is the maximum
load that can be applied at each axle of the vehi ­
cle ¢& .
Vehicle capacity weight
The vehicle capacity we ight (max. load) is listed
eithe r on the driver's side B-pillar or inside the
fue l filler f lap.
A WARNING
- The actual Gross Axle Weight Rating at the
front and rear axles should not exceed the
permissible weights, and their combination
must not exceed the Gross Vehicle Weight
Rating .

Exceeding permissible weight ratings can

sonal injury.

-The vehicle capacity weight figures apply
when the load is distributed evenly in the
vehicle (passengers and luggage). When
transporting a heavy load in the luggage
compartment, carry the load as near to the
rear axle as possible so that the vehicle's
hand ling is not impaired.
- Do not exceed the maximum permissible
axle loads or the maximum gross veh icle
we ight. Always remember that the vehicle's
hand ling will be affected by the extra load.
