CAUTION
■When the rear sunshade is being operated
Do not place fingers or other objects in the fastener section or in the opening.
They may get caught, causing injury.
NOTICE
■To prevent 12-volt battery discharge
Do not operate the rear sunshade when the engine is not running not operating>.
■To ensure normal operation of the rear sunshade and rear door sunshades
Observe the following precautions.
●Do not place excessive load on the moto r or other components of the rear sun-
shade.
●Do not place objects where they may hinder opening and closing operations.
●Do not attach items to the rear sunshade and rear door sunshades.
●Keep the opening clean and clear of obstructions.
●Do not operate the rear sunshade cont inuously for long periods of time.

Trunk storage extension
Fold down the armrest.
Fold down the handle and open
the armrest door.
: If equipped
Long objects can be loaded into the vehicle by utilizing the trunk space
and rear seat area.

In the event of sudden braking, items stored in the trunk may be thrown forward

Coat hooks
The coat hooks are provided with
the rear assist grips.
CAUTION
■Items that cannot be hung on the coat hook
Do not hang coat hangers or other hard or sharp objects on the hook. If the SRS
curtain shield airbags deploy, these items may become projectiles, causing death
or serious injury.

Assist grips
An assist grip installed on the ceiling
can be used to support your body
while sitting on the seat.
CAUTION
■Assist grip
Do not use the assist grip when getting in or out of the vehicle or rising from your
seat.
NOTICE
■To prevent damage to the assist grip
Do not hang any heavy object or put a heavy load on the assist grip.

Garage door opener
The garage door opener (HomeLink® Universal Transceiver) is manufac-
tured under license from HomeLink
®.
The HomeLink
® compatible transceiver in your vehicle has 3 buttons
which can be programmed to operate 3 different devices. Refer to the
programming method below appropriate for the device.

■Before programming HomeLink®
●During programming, it is possible th at garage doors, gates, or other
devices may operate. For this reason, make sure that people and
objects are clear of the garage door or other devices to prevent
injury or other potential harm.
●It is recommended that a new bat tery be placed in the remote con-
trol transmitter for mo re accurate programming.
●Garage door openers manufactur ed after 1995 may be equipped
with rolling code protection . If this is the case, you will need a step-
ladder or other sturdy, safe device to reach the “Learn” or “Smart”
button on the garage door opener motor.
The garage door opener can be programmed to operate garage doors,
gates, entry doors, door locks, home lighting systems, security systems,
and other devices.

Point the remote control trans-
mitter for the device 1 to 3 in.
(25 to 75 mm) from the
HomeLink
® buttons.
Keep the HomeLink® indicator
light in view while programming.
For U.S.A. owner’s
Press and hold the
HomeLink
® button you want
to program and the handheld
transmitter button simulta-
neously. When the
HomeLink
® indicator light
changes from a slow to a rapid
flash, you can release both but-
tons.
Programming has completed when
the indicator light changes to a
rapid flash.
Programming an entry gate (for U.S.A. owners)/Programming a
device in the Canadian market
With one hand, press and hold the HomeLink
® button you want to
program. With your other hand, press and release the remote con-
trol transmitter every 2 seconds an d repeat this cycle until the
HomeLink
® indicator light starts to fl ash rapidly. Then, release the
buttons.

Test the HomeLink® operation
by pressing the newly pro-
grammed button and observ-
ing the indicator light:
●If the indicator light is solid/
continuous, programming
has been completed and
your device should activate
when the HomeLink
® but-
ton is pressed and released.
●If the indicator light blinks
rapidly for 2 seconds and
then turns into a solid/con-
tinuous light, proceed with
the following instructions
for programming a roll-
ing code system.

Programming a rolling code
system
Locate the “Learn” or “Smart”
button on the garage door
opener motor in the garage.
This button can usually be found
where the hanging antenna wire is
attached to the unit. The name and
color of the button may vary by
manufacturer. Please refer to the
operator’s manual supplied with
the garage door opener motor for
details.
Press and release the “Learn”
or “Smart” button.
Perform within 30 seconds
after performing .
