To set the parking brake, fully
pull the parking brake lever
while depressing the brake
pedal.
To release the parking brake,
slightly raise the lever and
lower it completely while press-
ing the button.
Parking brake engaged warning buzzer
A buzzer will sound if the vehicle is driven at a speed of approximately 5 km/h
(3 mph) or more with the parking brake engaged. (P. 597)

NOTICE
Before driving
Fully release the parking brake.
Driving the vehicle with the parking brake set will lead to brake components
overheating, which may affect braking performance and increase brake
wear.

To sound the horn, press on or
close to the mark.
After adjusting the steering wheel
Make sure that the steering wheel is securely locked.
The horn may not sound if the steering wheel is not securely locked.

Except hybrid model: This system allows the headlights to be turned
on for 30 seconds when the engine switch is turned off.
Hybrid model: This system allows the headlights to be turned on for
30 seconds when the power switch is off.
Except hybrid model: Pull the
lever toward you and release it
with the light switch in (if
equipped) or after turning
the engine switch off.
Hybrid model: Pull the lever
toward you and release it with the
light switch in (if equipped)
or after turning the power
switch off.
The lights are turned off in the fol-
lowing situations.

AFS (Adaptive Front-lighting System) secures excellent visibility at
intersections and on curves by automatically adjusting the direction of
the light axis of the headlights according to vehicle speed and the
degree of the tire’s angle as controlled by steering input.
AFS operates at speeds of 10 km/h (6 mph) or higher.

Deactivating AFS
Turn on the AFS OFF switch.
The indicator turns on when the
AFS is deactivated.
