HEATING/VENTILATION
The heating and ventilation can only operate when the engine is running.
1. Temperature adjustment
Turn the control from blue (cold) to red
(hot) to adjust the temperature to suit
your requirements. Windscreen and side windows
(demisting/defrosting).
2. Air distribution adjustment
Windscreen, side windows and
footwells. Footwells.
Centre and side vents.
The air distribution can be adjusted by
placing the control in an intermediate

4. Air intake/Air recirculation
The recirculation of interior air prevents
exterior odours and smoke entering the
passenger compartment.
The intake of exterior air prevents and
eliminates misting of the windscreen
and side windows. Air intake.

Move the manual control 4 to the right for
t h e " I n t e r i o r a i r r e c i r c u l a t i o n " p o s i t i o n .
Move the manual control 4 to the left to
r e t u r n t o t h e " E x t e r i o r a i r i n t a k e " p o s i t i o n
as soon as possible to prevent deteriora-
tion of the air quality.
These settings are recommended for
cold climates.
This setting is recommended for hot
climates.

The air conditioning system can only operate when the engine is running.

Used simultaneously with the air condi-
tioning, the air recirculation improves its
performance.
Used in a damp climate, the air recircu-
lation may cause condensation to form
on the windows.
Return to exterior air intake mode as soon
as possible to avoid deterioration of the
air quality and prevent condensation.

movement of the vehicle, can still be
felt.

Demisting - defrosting
To quickly demist or defrost the wind-
screen and side windows:
place the air intake control 4 in the
" E x t e r i o r a i r i n t a k e " p o s i t i o n ,
place the air distribution dial 3 in the
" W i n d s c r e e n " p o s i t i o n ,
place the temperature dial 1 and the air
fl o w d i a l 2 in the maximum position,
close the central vents,
switch on the air conditioning by
pressing the "A/C" button.
5. Air conditioning On/Off

Press the "A/C" button, the associ-
ated indicator lamp comes on.
The air conditioning does not operate

HEATED REAR SCREEN

The heated rear screen can only oper-
ate when the engine is running.
Press this button to demist/defrost the
rear screen. The indicator lamp asso-
ciated with the button comes on.
S w i t c h i n g o f f
The heated rear screen switches off
automatically to prevent an excessive
consumption of current.
It is possible to stop the demist-
ing/defrosting operation before it is
switched off automatically by press-
ing the button again. The indicator
lamp associated with the button
switches off.
If the engine is switched off before the
heated rear screen is switched off auto-
matically, demisting/defrosting will resume
next time the engine is switched on.
Switch off the heated rear screen as
soon as appropriate as lower cur-
rent consumption results in reduced
fuel consumption. The control button is located on
the air conditioning system con-
trol panel.
The air conditioning is designed
to operate effectively in all sea-
sons, with the windows closed.
It enables you to:
- lower the temperature, in summer,
- increase the effectiveness of the demisting, in winter above 0 °C.

The value indicated on the display cor-
responds to a level of comfort and not
to a temperature in degrees Celsius or
Fahrenheit.
3. Automatic visibility programme
The automatic comfort programme may
n o t b e s u f fi c i e n t t o q u i c k l y d e m i s t o r d e -
frost the windscreen and side windows
(humidity, several passengers, ice...).
This system is designed to operate ef-
fectively in all seasons, with the win-
dows closed.
When the engine is cold, to prevent
too great a distribution of cold air, the
a i r fl o w w i l l o n l y r e a c h i t s o p t i m u m l e v e l
gradually.
In cold weather, it favours the distribution
of warm air to the windscreen, the side
windows and the footwells only.
The air conditioning can only operate with the engine ru
nning.
Press the "AUTO" button.
The "AUTO" symbol is dis-
played.
Press the arrows 1 (up and
down) to change this value.
In this case, select the auto-
matic visibility programme.
We recommend that you use this mode:
it provides optimised automatic con-
trol of all of the functions, passenger
c o m p a r t m e n t t e m p e r a t u r e , a i r fl o w , a i r
distribution and air recirculation, in ac-
cordance with the comfort value that
you have selected. The system automatically controls the
a i r c o n d i t i o n i n g , t h e a i r fl o w a n d t h e a i r
intake and provides optimum distribu-
tion of the ventilation to the windscreen
and side windows.
To exit this programme, press the
"AUTO" button again.
A setting around 21 provides an opti-
mum level of comfort. Depending on
your requirements, a setting between
18 and 24 is usual.
On entering the vehicle, if the interior
temperature is much colder or warmer
than the comfort value, there is no need
to alter the value displayed in order to
obtain the required level of comfort. The
system corrects the temperature differ-
ence automatically and as quickly as
possible.

Manual control
Depending on your requirements, you
can make a different selection from that
offered by the system by changing a
setting. The other functions will still be
controlled automatically.

Deactivation of the system
Avoid prolonged operation in inte-
rior air recirculation mode (risk of
condensation and of deterioration
of the air quality).
Avoid driving for too long with the
air conditioning deactivated.
Press this button to switch
the air conditioning off. The
"ECO" symbol is displayed.
Press this button several
times in succession to direct

This action deactivates all of the func-
tions of the air conditioning system.
The temperature is no longer main-
tained at a comfortable level. However,
a s l i g h t fl o w o f a i r , d u e t o t h e m o v e m e n t
of the vehicle, can still be felt.
Press the "OFF" , "AUTO" or "visi-
bility" button again to reactivate the
system with the values which were
set before it was deactivated.
Switching the system off may result in
some discomfort (humidity, condensa-
tion).
Press the button again to return
to automatic operation of the air
c o n d i t i o n i n g . T h e s y m b o l " A/C " i s
displayed.

Lift the control and slide the seat for-
wards or backwards.
2 - Height adjustment
Pull the handle upwards.
Remove your weight from the seat to
raise, or press on the seat to lower.
3 - Access to the rear seats
(3-door), A or B according to model

handles and push forwards to fold
down the seat back and move the
seat forwards.
When put back, the seat returns to its initial position.
No person or object must prevent the seat from returning to its initial
position. Returning to this position is
necessary for the seat to lock. 4 - Seat back angle adjustment
Push the handle towards the rear.
5 - Head restraint height adjustment
To raise the head restraint, pull it up-
wards.

upper edge of the head restraint is
l e v e l w i t h t h e t o p o f t h e h e a d .
T h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t i s fi t t e d w i t h a f r a m e
with notches, which prevent the head
restraint dropping down (this is a safety
device in case of impact).
FRONT SEATS
Seat consisting of a seat cushion, seat
back and head restraint which can all
be adjusted to your optimum driving
and comfort position.
Never drive with the head re-
straints removed; they should be
in place and correctly adjusted.
It is impossible to access the rear
seats if the front seat is in a reclining
position.
Heated seats
Press the switch, located on the control
panel next to the steering wheel. The
temperature is regulated automatically.
Press again to switch off.
Rear head restraint
These have a position for use (high)
and a position for storage (low).
To lower the head restraints, press the lug.
They can also be removed.
To remove the head restraints, pull up-
wards as far as the stop then press the
release control.
To lower the head restraint, push simul-
taneously:
- the button on the left-hand guide at
the base of the head restraint frame,
- the head restraint downwards.
To remove the head restraint, press the lug.
B. P l a c e y o u r fi n g e r s i n o n e o f t h e t w o
handles and push forwards to fold
down the seat back. The seat does
not move forwards.
When put back, the seat back returns to its initial angle.
