6. Rear Door
A: REMOVAL
1) Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
2) Remove the rear door trim. MOVAL, Door Trim.>
3) Remove the rear speaker. MOVAL, Rear Speaker.>
4) Remove the sealing cover. MOVAL, Rear Sealing Cover.>
5) Remove the rear door glass. REMOVAL, Rear Door Glass.>
6) Remove the door sash and rear door regulator
and motor assemblies. AL, Rear Regulator and Motor Assembly.>
7) Remove the rear inner remote. REMOVAL, Rear Inner Remote.>
8) Remove the rear door latch. MOVAL, Rear Door Latch and Door Lock Actuator
Assembly.>
9) Remove the rear outer handle. REMOVAL, Rear Outer Handle.>
10) Remove the rear door inner weather strip.
NOTE:
If the weather strip clip is removed with excessive
force, the weather strip may be damaged. Be sure
to use clip remover to remove.
11) Remove the bolts and nuts to remove the door
checker.
12) Pull the door harness connector inside the cen-
ter pillar, then disconnect the connector.
13) Put a wooden block on jack and place jack un-
der the rear door. Support the rear door with the
jack to protect it from damage.
14) Remove the door-side bolts for upper and low-
er hinges to remove the rear door panel.
15) Remove the door hinge from vehicle.

B: INSTALLATION
1) Put a wooden block on jack and place the rear
door on that.
2) Apply grease to the moving part of door hinges.
3) Install the rear door to upper hinge and lower
hinge adjusting by jack.
4) Tighten bolt of door checker.
5) Connect the door harness connector.
Tightening torque:
Refer to “COMPONENT” of “General Descrip-
tion”.
PONENT, General Description.>
C: ADJUSTMENT
1) Open the rear door, loosen the door-side bolts of
upper and lower hinges to align the position for ver-
tical and horizontal direction of rear door panel.
2) Loosen the screw (A) and tap striker (B) using
plastic hammer to adjust the gap between rear end
surface of rear door panel and body surface.
CAUTION:
Do not use an impact wrench. Welding area on
the striker nut plate is easily broken.

8. Rear Gate
A: REMOVAL
1. REAR GATE PANEL
1) Remove the weather strip clip, and remove the
rear gate panel weather strip.
NOTE:
If the weather strip clip is removed with excessive
force, the weather strip may be damaged. Be sure
to use clip remover to remove.
2) Remove the rear gate trim. MOVAL, Rear Gate Trim.>
3) Remove the rear gate garnish. REMOVAL, Rear Gate Garnish.>
4) Remove the rear wiper arm. REMOVAL, Rear Wiper Arm.>
5) Remove the rear wiper motor. REMOVAL, Rear Wiper Motor.>
6) Remove the rear gate latch assembly. SL-43, REMOVAL, Rear Gate Latch Assembly.>
7) Detach the roof spoiler. AL, Roof Spoiler.>
8) Remove the roof trim, and disconnect connector
from the rear gate harness connector. 50, REMOVAL, Roof Trim.>
9) Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
10) Remove harness clip of each connector from
the rear gate panel.
11) Remove the rubber duct (A) connection, and
pull out the harness and washer hose from the rear
gate.
12) Before removing the rear gate damper stay,
prevent the rear gate from closing using prop or the
like.
CAUTION:
If the prop comes off, operators may get injured
and vehicle may get damaged. Make sure to
support the rear gate with secure material to
prevent injury or damage.
13) Remove the mounting bolt of rear gate damper
stay.

Front Bumper

6. Front Bumper
A: REMOVAL
1. FRONT BUMPER FACE
1) Remove the front upper cover.
2) Turn over the front mud guard, and remove the
clips connecting the fender and bumper.
3) Remove the clips at the lower side of bumper.
4) Disconnect the fog light connector. (Model with
fog light)
5) Remove the knotch on the bumper face side
from guide bracket (A)
CAUTION:
Be careful when removing, as pulling forcefully
can damage the knotch on the bumper face
side.
NOTE:
Lift the bumper face upward, and removing in the
order of (B), (1)-(5) of the fender side, will make it
easier to remove.
6) Remove the clips, and then remove the bumper
face from vehicle body.
7) Remove the front grille from bumper face. to EI-20, REMOVAL, Front Grille.>
8) Remove the fog light from bumper face. LI-17, REMOVAL, Front Fog Light Assembly.>

Roof Spoiler

9. Roof Spoiler
A: REMOVAL
1) Remove the rear gate upper trim. REMOVAL, Rear Gate Trim.>
2) Disconnect the connector of high-mounted stop
light and the washer hose of rear washer.
3) Remove the nuts.
4) Remove the clips, and remove the roof spoiler.
B: INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal.
Tightening torque:
4.5 N·m (0.46 kgf-m, 3.32 ft-lb)

13. Instrument Panel Lower Cover
A: REMOVAL
1) Remove the front door scuff plate and front pillar
lower trim.
2) Remove the instrument panel side cover LH.
3) Remove the clips, and remove the console side
panel lower LH.
4) Remove the clips, and remove the instrument
panel lower cover under.
5) Remove the clips and hooks, disconnect the
connectors, and then remove the instrument panel
lower cover upper.
B: INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal.

Glove Box

14.Glove Box
A: REMOVAL
1) Remove the front door scuff plate and front pillar
lower trim.
2) Remove the instrument panel side cover RH.
3) Remove the console side panel lower RH.
4) Remove the clips, and remove the glove box
lower cover.
5) Remove the screws (A) and hooks (B), and dis-
connect the connector, and then remove the glove
box assembly.
6) Remove the clips (A), left and right stoppers of
glove box lid (B) and damper strap, and then re-
move the glove box lid.
NOTE:
The glove box lid can be removed without using the
glove box assembly.
B: INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal.

17.Instrument Panel Assembly
A: REMOVAL
CAUTION:
Take care of the following when removing the
instrument panel from the vehicle body.
•Refer to “CAUTION” of “General Description”
before starting the work. TION, General Description.>
•Be sure to disconnect each harness connec-
tor. Applying excessive pulling force may dam-
age the harness.
•Be careful to the harness of airbag system.
Damage of the harness may cause the air bag
system malfunction.
•Take care not to damage the interior trims
when removing the instrument panel from the
vehicle body.
NOTE:
•Putting alignment marks to each connector as
necessary facilitates the reassembly work.
•When storing the removed instrument panel, be
sure to prepare a table or the like to put the instru-
ment panel on in order to prevent damage.
1. INSTRUMENT PANEL UPPER
1) Disconnect the ground cable from battery and
wait for at least 20 seconds before starting work.
2) Remove the console box. MOVAL, Console Box.>
3) Remove the instrument panel lower cover. to EI-36, REMOVAL, Instrument Panel Lower Cov-
er.>
4) Remove the glove box. AL, Glove Box.>
5) Remove the center console. MOVAL, Center Console.>
6) Remove the audio unit. MOVAL, Audio.>
7) Remove the combination meter assembly. to IDI-11, REMOVAL, Combination Meter.>
8) Remove the upper grille. PER GRILL, REMOVAL, Air Vent Grille.>
9) Remove the multi function display or navigation
monitor, and warning box. MOVAL, Navigation Display.>
10) Remove the front pillar upper trim. 43, REMOVAL, Side Trim.>
11) Remove the mounting bolts of the passenger’s
side air bag module.
12) Remove the following screws.
•In combination meter house
•At the sides (left and right) of instrument panel
•Instrument panel center
