2. Check voltage between CVT device harness connector terminal 5 and ground.
OK or NG OK >> GO TO 9.

CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect stop lamp switch harness connector.
3. Check continuity between stop lamp switch harness connector
terminals 3 and 4.
Check stop lamp switch after adjusting brake pedal. Refer to
BR-6 .
OK or NG OK >> GO TO 7.
NG >> Repair or replace damaged parts. 7.
DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM
Check the following. If any items are damaged, repair or replace damaged parts.
• Harness for short or open between ignition switch and stop lamp switch harness connector
• Harness for short or open between stop lamp switch harness connector and CVT device harness connector
• 10A fuse [No.3, located in the fuse block (J/B)]
• Ignition switch, Refer to PG-3 .
OK or NG OK >>
INSPECTION END
NG >> Repair or replace damaged parts. 8.
CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect CVT device harness connector.
3. Check continuity between CVT device harness connector termi- nal 6 and ground.
4. Connect CVT device harness connector.
OK or NG OK >> Replace shift lock solenoid and park position switch
assembly.
NG >> Repair open circuit or short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors. 9.
CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect CVT device harness connector. Voltage:
Brake pedal depressed: Battery voltage
Brake pedal released: 0V SCIA7935E
Condition Continuity
When brake pedal is depressed Yes

3. Check continuity between TCM connector terminals and output speed sensor (secondary speed sensor) harness connector ter-
minal. Refer to CVT-219, " Circuit Diagram " .
4. If OK, check harness for short to ground and short to power.
5. Reinstall any part removed.
OK or NG OK >> 10 A fuse (No. 49, located in the IPDM
E/R) or ignition switch are malfunctioning.
NG >> Repair open circuit or short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.
7. CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN TCM AND OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR (SECONDARY SPEED SENSOR)(SENSOR GROUND)
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect TCM connector and output speed sens or (secondary speed sensor) harness connector.
3. Check continuity between TCM connector terminal and output
speed sensor (secondary speed sensor) harness connector ter-
minal.
4. If OK, check harness for short to ground and short to power.
5. Reinstall any part removed.
OK or NG OK >> GO TO 8.
NG >> Repair open circuit or short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors. 8.
CHECK DTC
Perform CVT-258, " DTC Confirmation Procedure " .

TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS FOR SYMPTOMS
O/D OFF indicator lamp does not come on for about 2 seconds when turning ignition switch ON.
DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE 1.
CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION LINE
Perform the self-diagnosis check. Refer to CVT-230, " CONSULT-III Function (TRANSMISSION) " .
Is any malfunction of the “ U1000 CAN COMM CIRCUIT ” indicated in the results?
YES >> Check CAN communication line. Refer to
CVT-238 .
NO >> GO TO 2. 2.
CHECK TCM POWER SOURCE
1. Turn ignition switch ON.
2. Check voltage between TCM connector terminals and ground.
Refer to CVT-296, " Wiring Diagram - CVT - POWER " .
OK or NG OK >> GO TO 4.
NG >> GO TO 3. 3.
DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM
Check the following.
• Harness for short or open between ignition switch and TCM connector terminal 10, 19
Refer to CVT-296, " Wiring Diagram - CVT - POWER " .
• 10 A fuse (No.49, located in the IPDM E/R). Refer to CVT-296, " Wiring Diagram - CVT - POWER " .
• Ignition switch. Refer to PG-3 .
OK or NG OK >> GO TO 4.

UNIFIED METER CONTROL UNIT • Speedometer, odo/trip meter, tachometer and fuel gauge are controlled by the unified meter control unit,
which is built into the combination meter.
• Warning and indicator lamps are controlled by signal s drawn from the CAN communication system, BCM
(body control module), and components connected directly to the combination meter.
• Odo/trip meter and A/T indicator (with A/T) or CVT i ndicator (with CVT) segments can be checked in self-
diagnosis mode.
• Meters/gauges can be checked in self-diagnosis mode.
POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT Power is supplied at all times
• through 10A fuse [No. 13, located in the fuse block (J/B)]
• to combination meter terminal 27.

CAN COMM CIRC [U1000] Malfunction is detected in CAN communication lines.
CAUTION:
Even when there is no malfunct ion on CAN communication system, mal-
function may be misinterpreted when battery has low voltage (when main-
taining 7 - 8 V for about 2 seconds) or 10A fuse [No. 14, located in the fuse

Malfunction is detected when an erroneous speed signal is input.
CAUTION:
Even when there is no malfunction on speed signal system, malfunctions
may be misinterpreted when battery has low voltage (when maintaining 7
