Thanks to its complete integration with
the voice commands, the steering wheel
controls, the sound system controls and
the information on the on-board multi-
function display, the Blue&Me™system
allows customers who have a mobile
phone with Bluetooth
®to use it even if
it is in their jacket pocket or handbag with-
out ever having to take their hands off the
steering wheel. To use the voice com-
mands, the voice recognition system does
not need time to learn your voice. The
system is capable of recognising the voice
commands given, irrespective of gender,
by the tone of voice and intonation of the
person giving the instructions.
It is also possible to listen to your favourite
music saved on a USB device by selecting
the tracks and playback method with ei-
ther the steering wheel buttons or voice
commands.HANDS-FREE
The main feature of this function is hands-
free telephone communication with voice
recognition and Bluetooth
®technology.
This system allows you to make and receive
phone calls using voice commands or man-
ual controls on the steering wheel in com-
plete safety, freedom and comfort while
driving, in full compliance with the law.
Bluetooth
®technology allows you to use
your mobile phone through the vehicle's
hands-free system, without the need for
wires.
Hands-free system with Bluetooth®technology,
SMS message reader and Media Player
Fiat Blue&Me™based on Windows Mo-
bile™ is a personal telematic system which
allows the use of communication and en-
tertainment devices, specially designed for
use in vehicles.
The Blue&Me™system installed on your
vehicle has hands-free capability, an SMS
message reader and a Media Player, and
it is also ready for additional services that
will become available in due course.
N.B.
Not all mobile phones support the voice
reading of SMS messages or the automat-
ic transfer of contacts through Blue-
tooth
®. For more information on com-
patible mobile phones, go to www.fiat.it.

The hands-free function allows the fol-
lowing operations to be performed:
❒Calling someone in your phone-
book using voice commands– you
can call someone from your mobile
phone contacts by using your voice.
You can also call someone in your
phonebook by selecting from those that
appear on the multifunction display of
the control panel.
(This function requires your phonebook
to be copied onto the vehicle's hands-free
system).
❒Calling a phone number using voice
commands– you can dial a phone
number by saying the digits.
❒Calling the sender of an SMS
message– you can directly call the
phone number of the sender of the
last message received, or of a message
already received and saved in the
Blue&Me™inbox.
❒Accepting a call– you can accept an
incoming call by pressing the
ß/MENU
button on the steering wheel.
❒Teleconferencing – you can make
a conference call to a third person
whilst already on another call (with
Bluetooth
®phones connected that
support this functionality)
❒Call alert– while you are involved in
a telephone conversation, you can re-
ceive notice of another incoming call,
answer the incoming call and switch
from one call to the other. (The call
alert is only supported by some of the
compatible mobile phones).
After having registered a mobile phone on
the Blue&Me™system, you can, if your
phone is in the vehicle, make calls by us-
ing voice commands or the steering wheel
controls. When using the hands-free sys-
tem, the telephone conversation is broad-
cast over the vehicle's speakers.SMS MESSAGE READER
(only with compatible
mobile phones)
By means of voice synthesis technology, the
Blue&Me™integrated SMS message
reader automatically reads incoming text
messages on your mobile phone with
Bluetooth
®technology over the vehicle's
sound system and it also interprets any ab-
breviations and emoticons in the message.
The SMS message reader functions are
managed using the steering wheel controls
or Blue&Me™voice commands.
The Blue&Me™SMS message reader al-
lows you to:
❒Be informed, by means of an alert on
the instrument panel multifunction dis-
play, of a new incoming text message on
your mobile phone with Bluetooth
®,
showing the number/name of the
sender. Blue&Me™will also suggest
reading the message to you

❒Blue&Me™asks you if you want to copy
across the contacts of the mobile phone
just registered on the Blue&Me™sys-
tem. Copying the phonebook is recom-
mended. To proceed with copying, say
“Yes”; if you do not want to copy the
phonebook, say “No”.
❒On some mobile phones, the names in
the directory are not copied automati-
cally, but have to be transferred by the
user using the mobile phone keypad. If
Blue&Me™asks you, carry out this
procedure by following the specific in-
structions on your mobile phone and
press
ß/MENUwhen you have finished. MAKING A CALL
Imagine that Mark is one of the names
saved in your phonebook.
To call Mark, proceed as follows:
❒Press the steering wheel control ‘and say “Call Mark”.
❒If the system recognises the name Mark,
it will show the information relating to
this name on the display.
If your phonebook has only one number
stored for Mark, the system will ask you
directly if you want to call him. To make
the call, say “Yes”; otherwise, say “No”.
If, on the other hand, there are several
phone numbers for Mark, the system will
ask which one you wish to call (for ex-
ample, “Call Mark work or home?”).
Respond by indicating which number you
want to call (for example, “Home”). If you have several telephone numbers for
Mark, but there is no indication of the type
of number, the system will show the name
together with the list of telephone num-
bers on the display. The hands-free sys-
tem will ask you if you want to call the
telephone number displayed. If the num-
ber displayed is the one you wish to call,
say “Yes”; otherwise, say “No”. If the
person to contact is the correct one, but
the number is wrong, say “Forward” or
“Back” to see the other phone numbers
