5CHECK FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR (LH) CIRCUIT (TO GROUND)
(a)Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(b)Disconnect the negative (±) terminal cable from the bat-
tery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(c)Measure the resistance between the body ground and each of SL+ and SL± of the connector ºBº.
OK:
Resistance: 1 M or Higher
NGGo to step 9

6CHECK AIR BAG SENSOR FRONT LH
(a)Connect the connector to the airbag sensor assy center.
(b)Interchange the airbag front sensor RH with the airbag sensor front LH and connect the connectors to them.
(c)Connect the negative (±) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
(d)Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 10 seconds.
(e)Clear the stored DTCs in the memory (See page 05±1184).
(f)Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(g)Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at
least 10 seconds.
(h)Check the DTCs (See page 05±1184). OK:
A: DTC B1148/36 is not output.
B: DTC B1149/37 is not output.

7 CHECK ENGINE ROOM MAIN WIRE(OPEN)
(a) Disconnect the engine room main wire connect from the
instrument panel wire.
(b) Using a service wire, connect SL+ and SL± of the connec-
tor ºEº.
NOTICE:
Do not forcibly insert a service wire into the terminal of the
connector when connecting.
(c) Measure the resistance between SL+ and SL± of the con-
nector ºDº.
OK:
Resistance: Below 1

MALFUNCTION
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The airbag front RH sensor circuit consists of the diagnosis circuit and the frontal deceleration sensor, etc.
If the airbag sensor assy center receives signals from the frontal deceleration sensor, it judges whether or
not the SRS should be activated.
DTC B1148/36 is recorded when a malfunction in the airbag front RH sensor is detected.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1CHECK DTC

tery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(c)Connect the negative (±) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
(d)Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 10 seconds.
(e)Clear the stored DTCs in the memory (See page 05±1184).
(f) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(g) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 10 seconds.
(h)Check the DTCs (See page 05±1184). OK:
DTC B1148/36 is not output.
HINT:
Codes other than code B1148/36 may be output at this time, but
they are not related to this check.

2 CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTORS
(a) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(b) Disconnect the negative (±) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(c) Check that the connectors are properly connected to the airbag sensor assy center and t\
he airbag front RH sensor.
OK:
The connectors are connected.

(a) Disconnect the connectors from the airbag sensor assy
center and the airbag front RH sensor.
(b) Using a service wire, connect SR+ and SR± of the con-
nector ºEº.
NOTICE:
Do not forcibly insert a service wire into the terminal of the
connector when connecting.
(c) Measure the resistance between SR+ and SR± of the
connector ºBº.
OK:
Resistance: Below 1
