RECOMMENDATION
Check the continuity and the isolation related to the ground and + 12 V of the wiring between
the E.C.U. decoder PinA6 pin58 i njection computer.
Fix it if necessary.
S et the c ontact on and perform the detection test by the CLIP tester at pi n A 6 of the ECU
decoder.
Are there any impulses?

6. STATE 11G: ACTIVATE THE RF REMOTE CONTROL/ RECEIVED RF SIGNAL
INDICATION
If the 17D state is PASSIVE, do not apply the next diagnostic
because the E .C.U. decoder is unused (new).
RECOMMENDATION Perform first the remote control synchronisation Do not access the next diagnostic if the state 11G remains PASSIVE
when activating the RF remote control at the blocking and unlocking
of the doors.
Check the blocking and unlocking of the doors using the second RF remote control. If this
is one is operating, then the battery of the first RF remote control should be replaced.
Check the presence of +12 V(+DC) at the pin1 of the anti starting bushing.
Is there +12V ?
Perform using CLIP tester, the impulse detection test a t the pin 1 of the anti
starting bushing, when using the RF remote control.
Are any impulses when using the remote control ?
YES Replace the E .C.U. decoder.
NO Replace the anti starting bushing.YES
Check the isolation related to the ground of the electric wiring between:
E.C.U. decoder Pin B1 pole 1 anti starting bushing Pin B2 pole door locking switch
Pin B5 pole 3
Is the isolation related to the ground good?
YES Fix the electric wiring.
NO Replace the E .C.U. decoder.NO
AFTER REPAIRING Perform a conformity checking.
Check the operation of the anti starting system.

7. 11 STATE: OPERATE THE RF REMOTE CONTROL / GOOD RF SIGNAL
INDICATION
Do not access the following diagnostic
unless the state 11D
RECOMMENDATION becomes ACTIVE when operating the RF remote control. Check if the keys belong to the vehicle in question.
There is a desynchronising between the code of the RF remote control and the E.C.U. decoder
if at the activation of the remote control, the 111D state remains PASSIVE and the state 11G
becomes AC TIVE for 3 seconds, then becomes PASSIVE. The blocking / unlocking of the
do ors is not possible in this case.
Apply the corresponding procedure of resynchronisation (for one or two keys).
AFTER REPAIRING Perform a conformity checking.
Check the operation of the anti starting system.

LP8. TURNING LIGHTS DO NOT SWITCH ON AT THE BLOCKING /
UNLOCKING OF THE DOORS
RECOMMENDATION Check the absence of the failures with the CLIP tester.
If there are failures, fix them first.
Check if the synchronisatio n of the RF remote control and the E.C.U. decoder has been performed .
Are the turning lights functioning normally at the activation of the signalling switch ?
Check the continuity and the isolation related to
the ground and the +12 V of the electric layout:
E.C.U. decoder FLASH relay
Pin B3 pole 2
Is it correct?
Repair the signalli ng system.
Check t he fuse F03 and F04.
Fix the electric layout.
Check the fuse F15 ( up to 01.06.2001) or
F 07 (after 01.06.2001).
Is it good?Replace the fuse.
Disconnect the FLASH relay. Supply with
+ 12, the pole 4 of the relay. Are the l eft
turning lights turning on? Supply with +12 V
the pole 5 of the signal relay.
Are the right turning lights turning on?
Repair the electric layout from
poles 4 and 5 of the FLASH relay.
Replace the FLASH relay.

Vo l u m etric protection checking.
Perform the following checking steps after locking using the RF remote control, the doors, the
engine hood and the hatchback. The operations must be performed in no more than 40 seconds
since the anti i ntrusion system has been activated with the RF remote control; if operating after
these 40 seconds, the siren will start and the turning lights will blink.
Close the door. The sound signal (buzzer)
will stop.
Th e pr oper operation of the anti intrusion system on different situations must be according to
those shown in Table 01. For detecting the causes of possible incidents of the anti intrusion system, perform the checking
steps presented in Table 02.
Lo wer the rear windows with about 10
cm. Close the doors, the engine hood
and the ha tchback.
Check out if there is any movement in
the cockpit.
Ac tivate the system pressing the button
of the RF remote control.
In troduce a hand through the window,
inside the cockpit and move it.
Th e LED indicator will blink quickly,
showing there has been a volumetric
detection and that volumetric sensors are
f unctioning correctly.
Deac tivate the system using the RF
remote contro l, then clos e al l the
vehicle windows.
Reactivate the system and then hit by
ha nd the windows surfa c e of the
vehicle. The LED indicator should
continue to normally blink and the siren
starting shall not occur.
Functional checking of the peripheral
protection.
Close the doors, the engine hood and the
hatchback.
Ac tivate the system pressing the button
of th e RF remote.
The doors will lock and the LED indicator
will blink.
Open a do or with the vehicle key.
The LED indicator will continuously be on,
a nd a sound signal (buzzer) will be heard.
Deac tivate and reactivate the sys tem
w ith the RF remote control.
Deac tivate t he system by pressing the
button of the RF remote control.
The do ors will unlock and t he LED
indicator will go off.

(STARTING – IGNITION SWITCH)
The anti theft mechanism is placed on the right part of the steering column and has the purpose
to starter control when electric system is connected, being provided in the same time also with a
steering locking device, with anti theft lock.
NOTE
At the anti theft mechanism there is not any more marked G position (garage) because
it does not allow the taking out of the key in this position but helps in pi n unblocking
for removing the mechanism from the steering column.
Disconnect the battery.
Dismount the steering wheel casings.
Disconnect the anti-starting bushing.
Remove the bushing off the steering column.
Disconnect the switch connection wires.
B ring the key in the interme diary position (ex G).
Dismount the attachment screw (1).
P ush the mobile pin ( 2) and pull backwards
the switch.
REMOUNTING
Mount the switch in its place.
Tighten the attachment screw(1).
Connect :
- the switch
- the battery.
Position and mount the anti-star ting bushing.
Connect the anti-starting bushing to the ve-
