(l) Low Tire Pressure Warning Light
This light warns that the tire pressure of
one or more of your tires (including the
spare tire) is low. The light comes on
when the ignition key is turned to the
ªONº position. It goes off after a few sec-
onds. This indicates that the tire pressure
warning system is functioning properly.
If the warning light comes on, stop your
vehicle in a safe place as soon as pos-
sible and check that the inflation pressure
of all tires (including the spare tire) is as
specified on the tire and loading informa-
tion label. (See ªChecking tire inflation
pressureº on page 429 in Section 7±2.)
The light should go off a few minutes after
the tire pressure is adjusted.
If the warning light blinks, the tire pres-
sure warning system may be malfunction-
ing. Contact your Toyota dealer.
For details, see ªTire pressure warning
systemº on page 198 in Section 1±7.
(m) Low Windshield Washer Fluid Level
Warning Light
This light warns that the windshield wash-
er fluid level is too low. Add washer fluid
at your earliest opportunity. (For instruc-
tions, see ªAdding washer fluidº on page
444 in Section 7±3.)(n) Engine Oil Replacement Reminder
Light (for vehicles sold in U.S.A.)
This light acts as a reminder to replace
the engine oil.
This light will come on when the ignition
key is turned to ªONº and will go off after
about a few seconds.
When you drive for about 7200 km (4500
miles) after the engine oil replacement,
this light illuminates for about 3 seconds
and then flashes for about 12 seconds
with the ignition key turned to the ªONº
position. If you continue driving without
replacing the engine oil, and if the dis-
tance driven exceeds 8000 km (5000
miles), the light will come on after the
ignition key is turned to ªONº position.
The light will remain on thereafter.
If the light is flashing, we recommend that
you replace the engine oil at an early
opportunity depending on the driving and
road conditions. If the light comes on,
replace it as soon as possible. The system must be reset after the en-
gine oil replacement. Reset the system by
the following procedure:
1. Turn the ignition key to the ªACCº or
ªLOCKº position with the odometer
reading shown. (For details, see
ªOdometer and two trip metersº on
page 160 in this Section.)
2. Turn the ignition key to the ªONº posi-
tion while holding down the trip meter
reset knob.
Hold down the knob for at least 5 sec-
onds. The odometer indicates ª000000º
and the light goes off.
If the system fails to reset, the light will
continue flashing.

In the following cases, there is a problem
somewhere in you rear height control air
suspension. Although there is no problem
to continue normal driving, have the rear
height control air suspension checked by
you Toyota dealer as soon as possible.
The height control indicator light and
manual control mode indicator light do
not come on when the ignition switch
is turned on.
The manual control mode indicator light
blinks.
(d) Parking and stopping tips
If you immediately stop the engine to park
the vehicle after off±road driving, the ve-
hicle height is lowered slightly as the ve-
hicle becomes cool. When parking, make
sure there is nothing that will be in con-
tact with the underbody of the vehicle.
If you park the vehicle for a long time,
the vehicle height may be gradually low-
ered. When parking for a long time, make
sure there is nothing that will be in con-
tact with the underbody of the vehicle.
If you stop the engine, the vehicle height
may change in accordance with the
change in the temperature.(e) Rear height control failure warning
If there is a problem somewhere in the
rear height control air suspension, the
manual control mode indicator light blinks.
If this is the case, change to the automat-
ic control mode by pushing the mode se-
lect switch, and bring your vehicle to your
Toyota dealer as soon as possible to have
it checked. The tire pressure warning system is de-
signed to provide warning when tire
inflation pressure of one or more of
your tires (including the spare tire) is
low. The low tire pressure warning light
comes on to inform you that low tire
inflation pressure may hamper driving.

LOW TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT
This light comes on when the ignition key
is turned to the ªONº position. It goes off
after a few seconds. This indicates that
the tire pressure warning system is func-
tioning properly. If the low tire pressure warning light
comes on or blinks, do the following.
If the warning light comes on:
Stop your vehicle in a safe place as
soon as possible and check that the
inflation pressure of all tires (including
the spare tire) is as specified on the
tire and loading information label. (See
ªChecking tire inflation pressureº on
page 429 in Section 7±2.) If the warning
light comes on even after tire inflation
pressure adjustment, you may have a
flat tire. If you have a flat tire, replace
it with the spare tire. For details, see
ªIf you have a flat tireº on page 387 in
Section 4.
The warning light goes off a few minutes
after air is put into the deflated tire.
This warning light may turn on due to
natural causes such as natural air leaks
or tire pressure changes caused by tem-
perature. In this case, adjusting the tire
pressure will turn off the warning light.
CAUTION
When the tire pressure warning light
comes on, observe the following in-
structions:
Depending on the conditions, re-
duce to an appropriate speed as
soon as possible.
Adjust the tire pressure to the spe-
cified level as soon as possible.
Avoid abrupt steering wheel maneu-
vering and braking. Tire deteriora-
tion may reduce steering wheel con-
trol and brake effectiveness. This
may lead to serious injury or death.
The tire pressure warning system
may not activate immediately if sud-
den bursts of air leakage occur.

NOTICE
Do not use liquid sealants for a flat
tire as air pressure sensors will be
damaged.
When the tires must be repaired or
replaced, have them repaired or re-
placed by the nearest Toyota dealer
or authorized tire dealer. The tire
pressure sensors will be affected by
the installation or removal of tires.
The tire pressure warning system is
not to be used as a substitute for
regular inspections. Be sure to
check the air pressure in the tires
on a regular basis.
When the tires must be replaced,
replace the grommets for air pres-
sure sensors as well.
If the warning light blinks:
The tire pressure warning system may
be malfunctioning. Contact your Toyota
dealer.
SYSTEM MALFUNCTION
The tire pressure warning system does
not function properly under certain cir-
cumstances. In the following cases, the
low tire pressure warning light may not
come on even if the tire inflation pres-
sure is low, or it may come on when
the tire inflation pressure is actually
normal.
Electric devices or facilities using simi-
lar radio wave frequencies are nearby.
A radio set to similar frequencies is in
use.
A lot of snow or ice covers the ve-
hicle, in particular, around the wheels
or wheel housings.
The tires are not equipped with an air
pressure sensor.
Snow tires or tire chains are used.
Non±genuine Toyota wheels are used.
The sensor battery is expired.
Radio waves from the air pressure sen-
sor installed on the spare tire cannot
be received.
CAUTION
The use of non±genuine wheels will
cause the air pressure sensors to
transmit the electronic code in dif-
ferent manner, resulting in the sys-
tem failure.
The use of different type of tires
with genuine wheels may also
cause the malfunction of the sys-
tem.

CAUTION
When the tire pressure monitoring
system warning light is lit, one or
more of your tires is significantly un-
der±inflated. You should stop and
check your tires as soon as possible,
and inflate them to the proper pres-
sure as indicated on the vehicle's tire
information placard. Driving on a sig-
nificantly under±inflated tire causes
the tire to overheat and can lead to
tire failure. Under±inflation also re-
duces fuel efficiency and tire tread
life, and may affect the vehicle's han-
dling and stopping ability. Each tire,
including the spare, should be
checked monthly when cold and set
to the recommended inflation pres-
sure as specified in the vehicle plac-
ard and owner 's manual.
For vehicles sold in U.S.A.

FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the
following two conditions:
(1) This device may not cause harmful
interference, and (2) this device must
accept any interference received, includ-
ing interference that may cause unde-
sired operation.

TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM
RESET SWITCH
The tire pressure warning system need
to be initialized in the following condi-
tions:
After replacing or rotating tires or
wheels
After replacing an air pressure sen-
sor.
When initializing the system, the pres-
ent tire condition is stored as a stan-
dard.To initialize the system, perform the fol-
lowing:
1. Park the vehicle at a safe place and
apply the parking brake. Stop the en-
gine.
2. Adjust the pressure of all the installed
tires to the specified level. (See ªTiresº
on page 458 in Section 8.)
3. Turn the ignition key to ªONº.
4. Push and hold the reset switch until
the low tire pressure warning light
blinks three times.
Initialization is completed or over for more
than 20 minutes.
When initializing the system, make sure
the low tire pressure warning light blinks
three times. If the warning light does not
blink three times, initialization will fail and
the tire pressure warning system will not
function properly. In this case, initialize
the system again.
Do not push the reset switch without ad-
justing the tire inflation pressure to the
specified level. Otherwise, the low tire
pressure warning light may not come on
even if the tire pressure is low, or it may
come on when the tire inflation pressure
is actually normal.
If you push the reset switch while the
vehicle is moving, initialization is not per-
formed.

Temperature A, B, CÐT he tem per a-
ture grades are A (the highest), B,
and C, representing the tire's resis-
tance to the generation of heat and
its ability to dissipate heat when
tested under controlled conditions on
a specified indoor laboratory test
wheel. Sustained high temperature
can cause the material of the tire to
degenerate and reduce tire life, and
excessive temperature can lead to
sudden tire failure. The grade C cor-
responds to a level of performance
which all passenger car tires must
meet under the Federal Motor Vehicle
Safety Standard No.109. Grades B
and A represent higher levels of per-
formance on the laboratory test wheel
than the minimum required by law.
Warning: The temperature grades for
this tire are established for a tire that
is properly inflated and not over-
loaded. Excessive speed, underinfla-
tion, or excessive loading, either sep-
arately or in combination, can cause
heat buildup and possible tire failure.
