Installation

Remove motor and bracket assembly from trunk lid

9. Slacken and remove bolts securing lock motor to mounting
bracket and separate motor from bracket.
1. Position motor on mounting bracket and fit and tighten
securing bolts.
2. Position motor/bracket assembly in trunk lid and connect lock
link rod and harness multiplug.
3. Finally position motor/bracket as sembly in trunk lid and fit and
tighten securing bolts.
4. Position trunk lid liner and fit and fully seat new fasteners.
5. Position finisher over trunk lock.
6. Fit and tighten finisher securing bolts and fit bolt covers..
7. Connect ground cable to battery terminal and fit battery cover.
Refer to 86.15.15.

Handles, Locks, Latches and Entry Systems - Luggage Compartment Lid
Release Switch
Removal and Installation
Removal
1. Remove trunk lamp assemblies. Refer to 86.45.16.

2. Remove covers from the two tr unk latch finisher securing
bolts and slacken and remove bolts.
3. Remove latch finisher from trunk.

4. Remove and discard the four fast eners securing rear of trunk lid liner and position liner for access.

5. Release trunk release button harness connector from retaining
clip and disconnect connector.
6. Slacken and remove the trunk u pper trim finisher securing
nuts.

Installation




7. Position upper trim finisher fo r access and withdraw release
button harness grommet from trunk lid aperture.

8. Position upper trim finisher for access and slacken and remove
release button securing screws.
9. Withdraw release button asse mbly from trim finisher.
1. Position trunk release button as sembly on trim finisher and
install securing screws.
2. Position trim finisher/release button assembly at trunk lid and
route harness through lid aperture.
3. Position grommet over harness and install in trunk lid aperture.

4. Position trim finisher/release button assembly on trunk lid and
install securing nuts.
5. Connect release button harness connector and install on
retaining clip.
6. Reposition rear of trunk lid liner and secure with new fasteners.

7. Position lock finisher and install securing bolts.
8. Install covers over finisher securing bolts.
9. Install trunk lights. Refer to 86.45.16.

Warning Indicator Switch
Removal and Installation
Removal
1. Remove trunk lamp assemblies. Refer to 86.45.16.

2. Remove covers from the two tr unk latch finisher securing
bolts and slacken and remove securing bolts.
3. Remove latch finisher from trunk.

4. Release and discard the four trunk lid liner rear fasteners
and position liner for access.

5. Release trunk open switch multiplug from retaining clip and
disconnect multiplug.
6. Remove the latch assembly securing bolt.

lock motor link rods.

Install lock assembly securing bolt.
4. Connect lock switch multiplug and install on mounting clip.
5. Reposition trunk lid liner and secure with new fasteners.
6. Position lock finisher and install securing bolts.
7. Install covers over finisher securing bolts.
8. Install trunk light. Refer to 86.45.16.

Handles, Locks, Latches and Entry Systems - Exterior Passenger Door
Handle
Removal and Installation
Removal
1. Remove battery cover and disconnect ground cable from
battery terminal. Refer to 86.15.19.
2. Remove door casing veneer panel. Refer to 76.47.11.
3. Remove door casing for access. Refer to 76.34.01.

4. Feeding electrical harness thro ugh water shedder, carefully
peel shedder from door and pl ace adhesive face down on a
clean dry polythene sheet.
5. Position PVC inner sheet for access.

6. Disconnect door handle operating link rod from lock
assembly.

7. Slacken and remove the two handle mounting bracket
securing bolts and remove bracket from door.
8. Withdraw handle assembly from door and remove link rod
from handle.

Installation



1. Fit link rod to door handle.
2. Position handle assembly on door.
3. Position mounting bracket on insi de of door and connect lock
link rod.
4. Fit and tighten mounting bracket securing bolts.
5. Reposition PVC inner sheet in door.
6. Check for satisfactory door handle operation.
7. Connect ground cable to battery terminal. Refer to 86.15.15.
8. Check for satisfactory operation of locking system.
9. Disconnect ground cable from battery terminal. Refer to
86.15.15.
10. Ensure that water shedder contact area of door is clean and
dry.
11. Position water shedder at door and carefully pass harness
through.
12. Fit and firmly seat water shedder on door ensuring
satisfactory adhesion.
13. Fit door casing. Refer to 76.34.01.
14. Fit door casing veneer panel. Refer to 76.47.11.
15. Fit ground cable to battery term inal and fit cover to battery.
Refer to 86.15.15.

Handles, Locks, Latches and Entry Systems - Passenger Door Latch
Removal and Installation
Removal
1. Remove battery cover and disconnect ground cable from
battery terminal. Refer to 86.15.19.
2. Remove front door casing. Refer to 76.34.01.
3. Position water shedder for ac cess and feed door harness
through water shedder.
4. Carefully remove water shedder from door and place adhesive
side down on a clean dry plastic sheet.

5. Release door lock actuator ha rness multiplug from mounting
bracket and disconnect multiplug.
6. Position plastic inner sheet for access.

7. Disconnect outer door handle operating rod from lock
mechanism.

8. Disconnect inner door lock operating rod from lock
mechanism and remove rod assembly.
9. Slacken and remove the three lock securing bolts.
