⬛Operation with separate switches
Turns the light on or off
When the door link switch is in the door
position with the door open, the light will
not turn off even if the lens is pressed.

The light turns on or off when a door is
opened or closed.
⬛Illuminated entry system
When the switch of the light is in the door position, the lights automatically
turn on or off in the following conditions.
⚫When approaching the vehicle with the electronic key after locking the
doors

⚫When unlocking or locking the doors
⚫When opening or closing the doors
⚫When operating the engine switch
⬛To prevent battery discharge
⚫When the switch of the light is in the door position with the door not fully
closed, the light automatically tu rns off after about 10 minutes.
⚫When the lights are left on, they automat ically turn off after about 12 min-
utes.
⬛Customizations
You can change the settings such as a peri od of time until the illuminated entry
system turns off. (List of customizable features: ➞P. 430)

WARNING
⚫Do not leave glasses, lighters or spray c ans in the storage spaces, as this may
cause the following when cabin temperature becomes high:
⦁ Glasses may be deformed by heat or cracked if they come into contact with
other stored items.
⦁ Lighters or spray cans may explode. If they come into contact with other
stored items, the lighter may catch fire or the spray can may release gas,
causing a fire hazard.
⚫Do not take items in or out of the st orage compartments while driving. Doing
so may lead to an accident.
⚫When the storage compartments are not in use, keep the lids closed.
In the event of sudden braking or sudden swerving, an accident may occur
due to an occupant being struck by an open lid or the items stored inside.

⬛Exhaust pipes
Exhaust gases cause the exhaust pipes to become quite hot. When washing
the vehicle, be careful not to touch the hot exhaust pipes until they have
cooled sufficiently. Doing so may cause burns.
⬛Precautions regarding the headlight lens
Do not touch the headlight lens when turning on the light and immediately
after turning off the light. The head light lens become hot and may cause
burns.
⬛Blind Spot Monitor✽
Scratches on the rear bumper paint may prevent the system from working
normally. Contact your Toyota dealer.
⬛Waxing the aluminum wheels✽
Be careful not to have wax attached to the seat of the nut. It could loosen the
nut and cause the tire to come off, which may lead to an unforeseen accident.
It may also lead to excessive tighteni ng, causing the nuts and bolts to break or
the wheels to get damaged.
NOTICE
⬛To prevent paint deterioration and co rrosion on the body and components
(wheels, etc.)
⚫Wash the vehicle immediately in the following cases:
⦁ After driving near the sea coast
⦁ After driving on roads where the antifreezing agents are spread on
⦁ If coal tar or tree sap is present on the paint surface
⦁ If dead insects, insect droppings or bird droppings are present on the
paint surface
⦁ After driving in an area contaminated wi th soot, oily smoke, mine dust, iron
powder or chemical substances
⦁ If the vehicle becomes heavily soiled with dust or mud
⦁ If any organic solvent such as benzene or gasoline is spilled on the paint
surface
⚫If the paint is chipped or scrat ched, have it repaired immediately.
⚫To prevent the wheels from corroding, remove any dirt and store in a place
with low humidity when storing the wheels.

⬛Cleaning the exterior lights
⚫Wash carefully. Do not use any organic solvent or scrub with a hard brush.
This may damage the su rfaces of the lights.
⚫Do not apply wax to the surfaces of the lights.
Wax may cause damage to the lenses.
⬛To prevent damage to the outside rear view mirrors
When using an automatic car wash, fo ld the outside rear view mirrors.
⬛Handling of the pole antenna✽
When handling the antenna, do not use ex cessive force. It may lead to defor-
mation of the body or damage to the antenna.
⬛To prevent damage to the pole antenna✽
⚫Retract the antenna if it touches the garage ceiling, etc.
⚫Remove the antenna in the following cases
⦁ When covering the vehicle with a car cover
⦁ When using an automatic car wash
⦁ When parking the vehicle for a long time during snowfall
⬛Removing the pole antenna✽
⚫Make sure that the antenna is insta lled to the vehicle when driving normally.
⚫Be careful not to misplace the antenna when removing it for using an auto-
matic car wash, etc. Replace the ante nna on your vehicle before resuming
driving.
⬛Precautions when wa shing the vehicle
⚫When washing the vehicle, do not pre ss hard, such as by applying weight.
The vehicle body may be dented.
⚫Check that the fuel filler door is cl osed. High water pressure can cause the
fuel filler door to open vigorously and damage the vehicle body and fuel filler
door.
⚫Washing the vehicle with hot water may damage plastic parts.
⚫When you wash the car with a machine using steam, keep the steam away
from the sonar area. The steam may cause the system to malfunction.
⚫Do not use detergents or waxes containing abrasives (compounds).
⬛When using an automatic car wash
Set the air conditioning system to “recirculated air mode”. Water may get
inside the vehicle and cause a malfunction.
