Vehicle towing instructions
The vehicle is not suitable for the use of tow bar
systems that are used for Oat towing or dinghy
towing, for example. Attaching and using tow bar
systems can result in damage to the vehicle. When you are towing a vehicle with tow bar sys-
tems, safe driving characteristics cannot be guar- anteed for the towing vehicle or the towed vehicle.
The vehicle-trailer combination may swerve fromside to side.
Observe the following information:

display fails
If the driver display has failed or is malfunc-
tioning, function restrictions in systems rele-
vant to safety cannot be detected.
The operating safety of your vehicle may be
impaired.
Drive on carefully.Have the vehicle checked immediately at
a qualiNed specialist workshop.*NOTE Mercedes-AMG vehiclesObserve the notes in the Supplement.
You could otherwise fail to recognize
dangers.
If the operating safety of your vehicle is impaired,
park the vehicle immediately and safely. Contact a
qualiNed specialist workshop.
The driver\bs display shows the following basic
information:
= Speed and power meter level
= Range according to average consumption, per-
sonal driving style or high-consumption driving
style
= Condition of charge of the high-voltage battery
= Indicator and warning lamps
Additional functions available include the follow-
ing:
= DiMerent menus, e.g. for assistance and navi-
gation
= Status displays for the driving systems
= Display messages
Some menu content and settings can be custom-
ized.Notes on the range
The range in general = All ranges shown are assumptions based on
various calculation bases. The actual range
achieved may diMer from the range displayed.
= Outside temperatures, climate control set-
tings, vehicle interior temperatures, road con-
ditions, driving style etc. directly inOuence the
achievable range.
= Pay attention to the charging prompts at all
times.
Range according to personal driving style
= Your previous personal consumption will be
taken into account when the range is being
calculated.
= While the navigation system or commuter
route is active, additional information about the route ahead can be included in the rangecalculation.
Range with low consumption = The maximum range shows the potential range
when consumption is low, e.g. as a result of296Driver\bs display

economical driving or having the air condition-
ing system turned oM.
Range with high consumption = The minimum range shows the range when
consumption is high, e.g. as a result of a
sporty driving style or having the air condition-
ing system turned on.
= This range is determined based on past and
current consumption Ngures.
Electrical consumption
= The From Start and From Reset consumption
Ngures take into account all active consumer
equipment when it comes to the drive sys- tem\bs operational readiness õ.\bIf the range maximization function is switched
on, the range on the speedometer may
increase depending on the potential range

If you operate information systems and com-
munication devices integrated in the vehicle
when driving, you could be distracted from the traPc situation. This could also cause you to
lose control of the vehicle.
Only operate this equipment when the
traPc situation permits.If you cannot be sure of this, stop the
vehicle whilst paying attention to road
and traPc conditions and operate the
equipment with the vehicle stationary.Observe the legal requirements for the country in
which you are currently driving when operating

The content on the driver\bs display is controlled using the control elements on the les side of the
steering wheel. You can use Touch Control 3 to
navigate vertically and horizontally by swiping with

one Nnger. ConNrm your selection by pressing the
Touch Control.\bTo operate Touch Control 3 in the most
eMective way, use the tip of your thumb if pos-
sible. You can also set the sensitivity of the Touch Control on the central display .BrieOy press main menu button 2.Select a menu by swiping to the les or right

Driver display menus

On some of these menus, you can choose
between diMerent display content on the center
display area.
On most of the menus, you can use Options to
conNgure further settings for the menu-speciNc
display content.

ble settings and selections on the menus in the Digital Operator\bs Manual.
Head-up Display
Function of the head-up display
The head-up display projects various content into
the driver\bs Neld of vision, for example.
You can use the head-up display menu bar to select various contexts, e.g.:
= Minimal
= Sport
= Standard
= Augmented reality
= ECO display (depending on model and equip-
ment) (  page 194)
= Settings
= Head-up display on/oM

Function of the head-up display with augmented
reality
\bAugmented reality is available only in conjunc-
tion with the 10x5° head-up display.
The head-up display with augmented reality proj-
ects content into the driver\bs Neld of vision, such
as:
= Information from and visualization of the navi-
gation system
= Information from and visualization of the driver
assistance systems, e.g. Active Distance

= Information from the menus of the driver\bs dis-
play

The marker for the detected vehicle in front and
the change-of-direction arrows for the route are
dynamic displays. The vehicle marker stays with the vehicle in front, and Active Distance Assistregulates your speed based on this. The change-
of-direction arrows point the way calculated by
the navigation system.
System limits
The marker for the detected vehicle in front may be inaccurate or may not be applied to the cor-rect vehicle in some situations. Always pay atten-tion to the actual driving situation.
Route guidance with augmented reality will not be
available in some situations, e.g. in the event of
poor satellite reception or roads that have not been digitized.
Visibility is inOuenced by conditions including the
following:
= Driver camera and multifunction camera
recording
= The extent to which the windshield in the area
of the multifunction camera is dirty, or if the
camera is fogged up, damaged or obscured

Operating the head-up display

Swipe upwards on the les-hand Touch Con-
