Press the seat belt tongue of seat belt 1 int o
marked position 2. 
In the rear: pull release lever 1. 
To fold the les seat bac krest forward: brieOy
pull on les button 1.
The les seat backrest can be folded forwards
electrically only together with the centre seat
backrest.
If the les seat backrest is not engaged with
the centre seat backrest, this will be shown on
the driver's display. 126

To fold the right seat backrest forward: br ieOy
pull on right button 1.
The right seat backrest will fold forwards.

If you no longer require the folded-down seat
backrest as a load area, fold the backrest back
into place.

k until it engages.

in place, red lock veriNcation indicator 2 will

qLocking the release catch of the centre rear
seat backrest
Requirements:
= The les and centre seat backrests are
engaged and joined together.
You can lock the centre seat backrest release
catch if you want to secure the load compartment
against unauthorised access. The centre seat
backrest can then be folded forwards only
together with the les seat backrest. 
Fold the centre and les seat bac
krests for-
wards. 
To lock or unlock: slide catc
h 1 upwards or
downwards.

To enlarge the load compartment, you can adjust
the seat backrests so that they are ten degrees
steeper (cargo position). %

tion, sudden braking or an accident.

hey cannot be thrown around. 
Secure objects, luggage or loads against
slipping or tipping o

ver, e.g. by using
lashing material, even if you are using
the load compartment cover. *

Do not place any objects above the

back by grab handle 2 and hook it into the
holders on the les and right. 
To retract: unhook load com
partment cover
1 from the holders on the les and right and
guide it forwards by grab handle 2 until it is

Removing the load compartment cover 
Press in the end cap of load compartment

ver 1 on the right- or les-hand side. 
Push load compartment cover 1 int
o recess
2 on the opposite side. 
Take load compartment cover 1 out b
y lising
it upwards. Installing the load compartment cover 
Press in the end cap of load compartment

ver 1 on the opposite side and insert load
compartment cover 1 into other recess 2. 
Slide the end cap outwards.
Stowing the load compartment cover
Depending on t
he vehicle version, the load com-
partment cover can be stowed under the load
compartment Ooor. 
To insert: position load com
partment cover
1 to the les under the trim and engage it in
mounting 2. 
To remove: pr
ess the end cap of the load com-
partment cover inward and remove it from

Pull on the loose ends of the lashing straps

he partitioning net is tight.

sion of the partitioning net and re-tension it if
necessary.

Attaching a roof luggage rack

The vehicle centre of gravity and the usual

iving characteristics as well as the steering
and braking characteristics alter.
If you exceed the maximum roof load, the driv-
ing characteristics, as well as steering and
braking, will be greatly impaired. 
Never exceed the maximum roof load
and adjus

the panorama sliding sunroof only if this
has been tested and approved for
Mercedes-Benz.
The panorama sliding sunroof may be raised

o allow ventilation of the vehicle interior. *
