ing wheel if there is a risk of becoming
trapped bythe steering wheel.
The adjustment process is stopped. #

When leaving theve hicle, alw aysta ke the
ke y with you and lock theve hicle. This
also applies tothe Digital Vehicle Key if
th e "Digital Vehicle Key" function is acti-
va ted via Mercedes me connect. V

adjustment process bypressing one of the mem-
ory function position switches.
If th e easy entry and exitfeature is active, the
stee ring wheel will mo veupwards and the driver's
seat will mo veback in thefo llowing situations:
R You switch the ignition o. when the driver's
door is open
R You open the driver's door when the ignition is
switched o. %
The steering wheel will then mo veupwards
only if it is not already as high as it will go.
The driver's seat will then mo vebackwards
only if it is not already at there ar of the seat
adjustment range.
The steering wheel will mo veback tothe last drive
position when:
R You switch the ignition on with the driver's
door closed.
R You close the driver's door when the ignition is
switched on
The last drive position will be sa ved when:
R You switch the ignition o..

When the memory function adjusts the seat,

Combustion engines emit poisonous exhaust
ga ses, such as carbon monoxide. Exhaust
ga ses can enter theve hicle interior if theta il-
ga te is open when the engine is running, espe-
cially if theve hicle is in motion. #
Always switch o. the engine before
opening theta ilgate. #
Never drive with theta ilgate open. &

If objects, lug gage or loads are not secured or
not secured su1cient ly,they could slip, tip

cle occupants.

eve nt of braking manoeuvres or abrupt

Always make sure that objects do not

before starting a jou rney. #
Stow and secure objects that are heavy,
hard, poin ted, sharp-edged, fragile or too

when using the cup holder while theve hi-
cle is in motion
The cup holder cann othold a container secure
while theve hicle is in motion. If
yo u use a cup holder while theve hicle is in
motion, the container may be 0ung around
and liquids could be spilled. The vehicle occu-
pants may come into contact with the liquid
and if it is hot, they could be scalded. Yo u
could be distracted from tra1c conditions and
yo u may lose control of theve hicle. #
Only use the cup holder when theve hicle
is stationar y. #
Only use the cup holder for containers of
th eright size. #
Always close the container, particular lyif
th e liquid is hot. *

The exhaust tailpipe and tailpipe trims can
become very hot. If you come into contact
with these parts of theve hicle, you could burn
yo urself. #
Always be particular lycareful around the
ta ilpipe and theta ilpipe trims and super-
vise children especially closely in this
area. #
Allow vehicle parts tocool down before
to uching them. The driving
characteristics of your vehicle are
dependent on the distribution of the load within
th eve hicle. You should bear thefo llowing in mind
when loading theve hicle:
R neverex ceed the permissible gross mass or
th e permissible axle loads forth eve hicle
(including occupants).
Information can be found on theve hicle identi-
/cation plate (/ page 397).
R the load must not pr otru de abo vethe upper
edge of the seat backrests.
R always place the load behind unoccupied
seats if possible.
R secure the load using the tie-down eyes and
distribute the load evenl y.

R Evenly dist ribute thero of load, and place
heavy objects at the bottom. Also comply with
th e no tes on loading theve hicle.
R Drive attentivel y,and avoid suddenly pulling
awa y,braking and steering as well as rapid

pressed into the seat belt with increased
fo rc e. The seat belt will not be able topro-
te ct as intended and could cause addi-
tional injur y.
R Objects or loads in the boot or load com-
partment cannot be restrained bythe seat
backrest. #
Make sure that there ar ben chseat, the
re ar seat and the seat backrest are

cluster. A warning tone will also sound.
If th e centre seat backrest is not engaged and
loc ked in place, the lock veri/cation indicator will
