Automatic illumination of
headlamps
The sidelamps and dipped beam headlamps
switch on automatically if the light is poor or
during operation of the windscreen wipers.
They switch off again as soon as the ambient
light becomes bright enough or the windscreen
wipers stop.
This function is not compatible with daytime
running lamps. In fog or snow, the sunshine sensor may
detect sufficient light.
As a result, the lighting will not come on
automatically. If necessary, you must
switch on the dipped beam headlamps
manually.
Do not cover the sunshine sensor located
on the windscreen behind the rear view
mirror. It is used for automatic illumination
of the headlamps and for the automatic
rain sensitive wipers.
Activation
F Turn the ring to the AUTO position. The activation of the
function is accompanied by a
message on the screen.
Deactivation
F Turn the ring for wards or rear wards. The deactivation of the function is accompanied
by a message on the screen.
The function is switched off temporarily off
when the manual lighting control stalk is used.
In the event of a malfunction of
the sunshine sensor , the lamps
come on, accompanied by the
illumination of the Ser vice warning
lamp, an audible signal and a
message on the screen.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified
workshop.
LED daytime running lamps
On starting the vehicle, in daylight the daytime
running lamps come on automatically.
If the sidelamps, dipped or main headlamps
are switched on manually or automatically, the
daytime running lamps switch off.
Programming
For countries where exterior lighting by day is
not a legal requirement, you can activate or
deactivate the function via the configuration
menu.
Guide-me-home lighting
Keeping the dipped beam headlamps on
temporarily after switching the ignition off makes
the driver's exit easier when the light is poor.
Manual operation
F With the ignition off, "flash" the headlamps
within one minute after switching off the
ignition.
Manual guide-me-home lighting goes off
automatically after a certain period of time.

Standard (ESC)
This mode is calibrated for a low
level of wheel spin, based on the
different levels of grip normally
encountered on the road.
Every time the ignition is switched off, the
system automatically resets to the ESC mode.
ESC OFF
This mode is only suitable for
special conditions when moving off
or at low speed.
When exceeding 31
mph (50 km/h),
the system automatically resets to
the ESC mode.
Snow
This mode adapts to the conditions
of grip encountered for each of the
two front wheels when moving off.
When moving, the system optimises wheel spin
to ensure the best acceleration possible with
the available traction.
All terrain (mud, damp grass,
etc.)
This mode, when moving off, allows
considerable spin on the wheel with
the least grip to optimise clearing of
the mud and regain grip.
At the same time, the wheel with the most grip
is controlled in such a way as to transmit as
much torque as possible.
When moving, the system optimises wheel spin
to respond to the driver's requirements as fully
as possible.
Sand
This mode allows little spin on the
two driving wheels at the same time
to allow the vehicle to move for ward
and limit the risks of getting stuck in
the sand. Your vehicle is designed principally to
drive on tarmac roads but it allows you to
occasionally drive on other less passable
terrain.
However, particularly when your vehicle is
heavily laden, it does not permit off-road
activities such as:
-
c
rossing and driving on terrain which
could damage the underbody or
tear off components (fuel pipe, fuel
cooler, etc.), in particular as a result of
obstacles or stones,
-
d
riving on terrain with steep gradients
and poor grip,
-
c
rossing a stream.
Do not use the other modes on sand as
the vehicle may become stuck.

Airbags
General
The airbags do not operate when the
ignition is switched off.
This equipment will only deploy once. If a
second impact occurs (during the same or
a subsequent accident), the airbag will not
be deployed again. The passenger's front airbag must be
deactivated if a rear ward facing child seat
is installed on a front passenger seat.
Impact detection zones
A.
Front impact zone.
B. Side impact zone.
The deployment of one or more airbags
is accompanied by a slight emission of
smoke and a noise, due to the detonation
of the pyrotechnic charge incorporated in
the system.
This smoke is not harmful, but sensitive
individuals may experience slight irritation.
The detonation noise associated with the
deployment of an airbag may result in a
slight loss of hearing for a short time.
If a collision occurs, the electronic detectors
record and analyse the front and side impacts
sustained in the impact detection zones:
-
i
n the event of violent impact, the airbags
are deployed instantly and help better
protect the occupants of the vehicle;
immediately after the impact, the airbags
deflate rapidly in order not to hinder
the visibility or the possible exit of the
occupants,
-
i
n the case of a minor or rear impact or in
certain roll-over conditions, the airbags
may not be deployed; the seat belt
alone contributes towards ensuring your
protection in these situations.
The seriousness of the collision depends on
the nature of the obstacle and the speed of the
vehicle at the moment of impact.
The airbags have been designed to optimise
the safety of the occupants in the event of a
serious collision; they work in conjunction with
the force limiting seat belts.

essential to deactivate the passenger's
front airbag when you install a rear ward
facing child seat on the front passenger
seat. Otherwise, there is a risk of serious
or fatal injury to the child if the airbag is
deployed.
Reactivating the
passenger's front airbag
In the "
OFF" position, the passenger’s front
airbag will not be deployed in the event of an
impact.
As soon as you remove the child seat, turn
the passenger’s front airbag switch to the ON
position to reactivate the airbag and therefore
ensure the safety of your passenger in the
event of an impact.
