To unfasten the seat belts, press button C. Guide the
seat belt with your hand while it is rewinding, to
prevent it from twisting.
WARNING
Never press button C fig. 113 when
travelling.
The retractor may lock up when the vehicle is
parked on a steep slope: this is perfectly normal.
Furthermore, the reel mechanism locks the belt if it
is pulled sharply or in the event of sudden braking,
collisions and high-speed bends.
WARNING
Remember that in the event of a violent
impact the rear seat passengers not
wearing seat belts are exposed to a ver y serious
risk and also represent a serious danger for
the front seat occupants.
The rear seat belts (for versions/markets, where
provided) must be worn as shown in diagram in
fig. 114 or fig. 115.
IMPORTANT The “red band” on the levers A
fig. 116 used for folding the seat will not appear
when the backrest is correctly secured. This red
band indicates that the backrest is not secured.

SBR SYSTEM
(for versions/markets, where provided)
The vehicle is equipped with a system called S.B.R.
(Seat Belt Reminder), which warns the driver and
front passenger if their seat belt is not fastened, as
follows:
warning lightcomes on in the instrument panel
and the buzzer sounds continuously for the first 6
seconds;
warning lightflashes in the instrument panel and
the buzzer sounds intermittently for the following
90 seconds.
For permanent deactivation, contact a Fiat
Dealership.
The SBR system can also be reactivated through the
setup menu.
PRE-TENSIONERS
To increase the protective efficiency of the front seat
belts, the vehicle is fitted with pretensioners. These
devices, in the event of a violent head-on crash or
side impact, rewind the seat belts a few centimetres.
In this way, they ensure that the belts fit tightly to
the wearer before the restraining action begins.
The retractor locks to indicate that the pretensioner
has intervened; the seat belt cannot be drawn back
up even when guiding it manually.
IMPORTANT To obtain the highest degree of
protection from the action of the pretensioner, wear
the seat belt tight to the chest and pelvis.
A slight discharge of smoke may be produced during
the activation of the pretensioner which is not
harmful and does not involve any fire hazard.
The pretensioner does not require any maintenance
or lubrication. Any changes to its original conditions
will invalidate its efficiency. If, due to unusual natural
events (floods, sea storms, etc.), the device has
been affected by water and mud, it must absolutely
be replaced.
WARNING
The pretensioner may be used only
once. After it is triggered, have it
replaced at a Fiat Dealership.

slightly lift the handbrake and press release button
Afig. 134;
hold button A pressed and lower the lever. The
instrument panel warning light
will go out.
Press the brake pedal when carrying out this
operation to prevent the vehicle from moving
accidentally.
PARKING THE CAR
Proceed as follows:
stop the engine and engage the handbrake;
engage a gear (1stgear if parked uphill or reverse if
facing downhill) and leave the wheels turned.
If the vehicle is parked on a steep slope, it is
advisable to block the wheels with a wedge or stone.
To prevent draining the battery, do not leave the
ignition key turned to MAR. Always remove the key
when you leave the vehicle.
Never leave children unattended in the vehicle.
Always remove the ignition key when leaving the
vehicle, and take it with you.
SNOW TYRES
The Fiat Dealership will be happy to provide advice
concerning the most suitable type of tyre for the
customer's requirements.
For the type, pressures and specifications of the
snow tyre to be used, follow carefully the
instructions given in the “Wheels” paragraph of the
“Technical specifications” section.
The winter performance of these tyres is
considerably reduced when the tread thickness is less
than 4 mm. If this is the case, replace them.
Due to the specific characteristics of snow tyres, in
normal weather conditions or on long motorway
journeys, the performance of these tyres is lower
than that of standard tyres. Their usage should
therefore be restricted in accordance with their type
approval.
IMPORTANT When using snow tyres with a
maximum speed index below the one that can be
reached by the vehicle (increased by 5%), place
a notice in the passenger compartment, plainly in
view, which states the maximum speed allowed
by the snow tyres (as per EC Directive).
All four tyres should be the same (brand and profile)
to ensure greater safety when driving and braking
as well as making the car more responsive.
Remember that you should not change the rotation
direction of the tyres.

The warning light does not come on during every
DPF regeneration, but only when driving conditions
require notification to the driver. The warning light
will go off if the vehicle stays in motion until
regeneration has been completed. The process
normally takes about 15 minutes.
The optimum conditions to end the process are
achieved by keeping the car in motion at up to 60
km/h with an engine speed higher than 2000 rpm.
This light coming on is not a fault and therefore the
vehicle does not need to go to the workshop.
WARNING
During regeneration, the fan could be
operated.
WARNING
Always drive at a speed appropriate to
the traffic conditions, the weather
and the laws in force. The engine may be turned
off while the DPF light is on; however, repeated
interruption of the regeneration process may
result in premature degradation of engine
oil. For this reason, it is always advisable to wait
for the light to go off before turning off the
engine, following the instructions appearing
above. It is recommended to complete DPF
regeneration with the vehicle stationar y.
ABS SYSTEM FAULT (amber)
When the ignition key is turned to MAR, the warning
light turns on but should go off after a few seconds.
The warning light comes on when the system is
either not working properly or not available. In this
case the braking system maintains its own unaltered
efficiency but without the advantage of the ABS
system. Drive carefully and go to a Fiat Dealership as
soon as possible.
A specific message is displayed on certain versions.
EBD FAULT
(red/amber)
If the warning lights switch on simultaneously with
the engine running, this indicates that there is a fault
in the EBD system or that the system in unavailable.
In this case, the rear wheels may suddenly lock
and the vehicle may swerve when braking sharply.
Drive very carefully to a Fiat Dealership to have the
system inspected.
A specific message is displayed on certain versions.

vehicle 12V socket. Remove the cap from the
valve of repaired tyre, disconnect and pull out the
black inflation tube fig. 154, connect it to the
valve and lock it with the lever. Inspect the
pressure gauge F to check the tyre pressure
fig. 153;
if the pressure indicated is lower than 1.8 bar / 26
psi, the TYRE IS TOO DAMAGED AND
CANNOT BE REPAIRED. Remove and place the
kit in the specific compartment and contact a Fiat
Dealership;
if the pressure indicated is equal to or higher than
1.8 bar / 26 psi, switch on the compressor and
reach the required pressure. Disconnect and
replace the kit in the specific compartment.
Carefully drive and reach the Fiat Dealership as
soon as possible;PRESSURE RESTORING
The compressor can also be used to check and, if
necessary, restore the tyre pressure. Disconnect and
pull out the black inflation tube, connect and block
it to the tyre valve fig. 154 with the lever. With
the same procedure it is possible to inflate bicycle
tyres and balloons. The kit should be used by adults
and cannot be used by children.
CARTRIDGE REPLACEMENT
Only use Fix&Go original cartridges which can be
purchased at Fiat Dealership. To remove the
cartridge, disengage the coupling of the black
inflation tube B fig. 155, rotate the cartridge
anticlockwise and then lift it; insert the new
cartridge, rotate it clockwise to end of travel
position, insert the coupling of the black inflation
tube blocking it with the stalk and then rewind the
transparent tube A in the compressor site.
