App lies to vehicles: with e ngin e speed limitat ion
Ill Engine speed maximum XXXX RPM
The engine speed is automatically limited to the
speed displayed in the instrument cluster. This
protects the eng ine from overheating.
The engine speed limitation deactivates once the
engine is no longer in the critical temperature
range and you have released the accelerator ped­
al.
If the engine speed limitation was activated by
an engine control malfunction, the
Im indicator
light also turns on. Make sure that the speed
does not go above the speed d isplayed. Drive to
an authorized Audi dealer or authorized Audi
Service Facility immediately to have the malfunc­
tion corrected .
.., Engine oil sensor
• Oil level! Sensor defective
If the symbol illuminates, contact your author­
ized Audi dealer and have the oil sensor inspect ­
ed. Until you have th is done, check the oil level
each time you refuel just to be on the safe side

Fuel has entered the engine oil, either from low
outside temperatures or frequent short d rives.
Drive until the engine is warm so that the fuel in

the reverse gear is selected .

Sun visors

The sun visors for the driver and passenger can
be released from their brackets and turned to­
ward the doors (!).
The mirror light switches on when the cover over
the vanity mirror @opens.
Sun shade

The sun shade is located on the luggage com­
portment shelf.

When the sun shade is in the lowered position, it
is secured in the retainer @.

Lights and Vision
A WARNING
-Do not use the sun shade to secure cargo. The
luggage compartment cover is not a surface
for storing objects. Objects placed on the cov­
er could endanger all vehicle occupants dur­
i ng sudden braking maneuvers or in a crash.

Move the windshie ld w iper lever to the corre­
sponding position:
@ -Windshield wipers off

"' 0 :i: (!) -Rain sensor mode . The windshield wipers
switch on once the veh icle speed exceeds approx­
imately 2 mph (4 km/h) and it is raining . The
highe r the ra in sensor sens itivity is set (switch @
to the right), the earlier the windshield wipe rs re­
act to moisture on the windshield. You can deac­
tivate rain sensor mode in the MMI, which wi ll
then activate intermittent mode . Select:
!CARI
function button > (Car)* systems control button
> Driver assist > Rain sensor > Off. In intermit­
tent mode, you can adjust the interval time using
the switch @.
@ -Slow wiping
@ -Fast wiping
@ -Single wipe . If you ho ld the lever in this posi­
tion longer, the wipe rs switch from slow w iping
to fast wiping.
®-Clean the windshield. The wipers wipe one
t ime after several seconds of driving to remove
water drop lets. You can swit ch th is function off ..,.

by moving the lever to position ® within 10 sec ­
onds after the afterwipe. The afterwipe function
is reactivated the next time you switch the ign i­
tion on.
Cleaning the headlights *. The headlight washer
system* operates only when the low beam head­ lights are on. If you move the lever to position
® , the headlights and the night vision assist
camera* are washed in intervals.
A WARNING
-The rain sensor is only intended to assist the
dr iver . The driver is st ill responsible for
manually switching the wipers on according
to the v is ibility conditions.
- The w indshield may not be treated w ith wa­
te r-repell ing windsh ield coating agents. Un­
favorable conditions, such as wetness, dark­ ness or low sun, can resu lt in increased
glare, which increases the risk of an acci ­
dent. Wiper blade chatter is also possible.
- Properly functioning w indshield w iper
blades are required for a clear view and safe
driving ~

- If there is frost, make sure the windshield
wiper blades are not frozen to the wind ­
s h ield. Switching on the winds hield wipers
when the blades are frozen to the wind­
sh ield can damage the wiper blades.
- Prior to using a car wash, the winds hield
wiper system must be switched off (lever in
position 0). This prevents unintentional
switching on and damage to the w indshield
wiper system.
(Di Tips
- The windshield wipers switch off when the
i gnition is turned off. You can act ivate the
windsh ield wipers after the ignition is
switched back on by moving the windsh ield
wiper lever to any pos it ion.
- Worn or dirty windshield w iper blades result
i n streaking. This can affect the rain sensor
so
f unction. Check your w indshield wiper
blades regu larly .
- T he washer fluid nozz les o f the windshie ld
washer system are heated at low tempera­
t ur es when the ignition is on.
- When stopping temporarily, such as at a traffic light, the speed of the windshield
wipers automatica lly reduces by one leve l.
Cleaning windshield wiper blades
Clean the wiper blades when you see wiper
streaks. Use a soft cloth and a glass cleaner.

A WARNING
For safety reasons, the windshield wiper
blades should be replaced once or twice each
yea r.
0 Note
- Only fold the windshield wipe rs away when
i t is in the service pos ition. Otherw ise, you
r isk damag ing the pa int on the hood or the
windsh ield wiper motor.
- You should not move you r vehicle or ope rate
the windshie ld w iper lever when the wiper
arms are folded away from the windshield.
The windshield wipers would move back in ­
to t heir original position and could damage
the hood and windshield.
(D Tips
- You can also use the service pos ition, for ex ­
ample, if you want to protect the windshield
from icing by using a cover.
- You cannot activate the service position when the hood is open.

Care and cleaning
General information
Regular, proper care helps to maintain your vehi ­
cle's value.
It can a lso be a req uirement when
submitting warranty claims for corrosion damage
and paint defects on the body.
The necessary care products can be obtained
from your a uthorized Audi dea ler . Read and fol ­
l ow the instructions for use on the packaging .
A WARNING
- Using clean ing and care products incorrectly
can be dangerous to your health.
- Always store cleaning and care products out of reach of children to reduce the r isk of po i­
soning .

- Preferably use environmentally-friendly
products when b uying cleaning agents.
- Do not dispose of leftover cleaning and care
products with h ousehold tras h.
Car washes
The longer that deposits remain on the vehicle ,
the more the s urface may be damaged . H igh
temperatures s uch as those caused by s unlight
increase the damaging effect.
Before washing, rinse off heavy deposits with
p lenty of water.

sap are best removed w ith plenty of wa ter and a
microfiber cloth .

Pressure washers
When washing your ve hicles w ith a pressure
washer, always follow the operating instructions
p rov ided with t he p ress ure washer. This is espe­
ci ally importan t in reg ard to the p ress ure and
sp ray ing dist ance. Do not aim the spray direc tly
at seals on side windows, doors, the hood, the
rear lid or the sunroof * or at tires, rubber hoses,

insulat ing mater ia l, sensors * or camera lenses *.
Keep a distance of at least 16 inches (40 cm) .

Never use rotary nozzles or high pressure noz­
z les.
The water temperature must not be above 140 °F

Automat ic car washes
Sp ray off the ve hicle before washing .
Make sure tha t the w indows and roo f* are close d
and the windshield wipers are off . Follow inst ruc ­
tions from the car wash operator, especially if
there are accessor ies attached to your vehicle.
If possible, use car washes th at do not h ave
brushes.
Washing
by hand
Clean the ve hicle starting from the top and work­
i ng down using a soft sponge or cleani ng b rush .
U se solven t-free cle ani ng p rod ucts.
Washing vehicles with matte finish paint
by
hand
T o avoid damaging the pain t whe n washing, first
remove dus t and large particles from yo ur vehi ­
cle . Inse cts , grease s pots and fingerprin ts a re
best removed with a specia l cleaner for matte
finish pai nt.
Apply t he p rod uct using a mi crofiber cloth. To
avo id damaging the paint surfa ce, do not use too
much pressure.
Rinse the ve hicle thoroughly with water. Then
cl ea n usi ng a neutr al sham poo and a so ft mi cro ­
fiber clo th .
Rinse the ve hicle thoroughly again and let it air
dry. Remove a ny wate r residue using a s ham my.
A WARNING
- Onl y wa sh the vehicle w hen the ign ition is
off and fo llow the ins truc tions from the car
wash ope rator to reduce the risk of a cci­
dents.
