T o reduce batterydrain,theextended storage
fuse switch comes fromthefactory switched off.
Prior todelivery ofyour vehicle, theswitch is
pushed in(switched on)and should always
remain on.
If the extended storagefuseswitch isnot
pushed in(switched on),the meter maydisplay
a warning message. SeeªExtended storagefuse
warning messageº (P.2-7) .
If any electrical equipment doesnotoperate,
remove theextended storagefuseswitch and
check foranopen fuse. NO
TE:
If the extended storagefuseswitch mal-
functions orifthe fuse isopen, itis not
necessary toreplace theswitch. Inthis
case, remove theextended storagefuse
switch andreplace itwith anew fuse ofthe
same rating.

1. To remove theextended storagefuseswitch,
be sure theignition switchisin the OFF or
L OCK position.
2. Besure theheadlight switchisin the OFF
position.
3. Remove thefuse boxcover.
4. Pinch thestorage fuseswitch andpullitin
the direction illustrated.

contain nomore than5%methanol
(methyl alcohol, woodalcohol) .It
should alsocontain asuitable amount
of appropriate cosolventsandcorro-
sion inhibitors. Ifnot properly formu-
lated withappropriate cosolventsand
corrosion inhibitors, suchmethanol
blends maycause fuelsystem damage
and/or vehicle performance problems.
At this time, sufficient dataisnot
available toensure thatallmethanol
blends aresuitable foruse inNISSAN vehicles.
If any driveability problemssuchasengine
stalling anddifficult hot-starting areexperienced
after using oxygenate-blend fuels,immediately
change toanon-oxygenate fuelorafuel with a
low blend ofMTBE.
T ake care nottospill gasoline during
refueling. Gasolinecontaining oxygenates
can cause paintdamage.
E-15 fuel

Inspection/Maintenance (I/M)testofthe emis-
sion control system.
The vehicle isset tothe ªready conditionº when
it is driven through certaindrivingpatterns.
Usually ,the ªready conditionº canbeobtained
by ordinary usageofthe vehicle.
If apowertrain systemcomponent isrepaired or
the battery isdisconnected, thevehicle maybe
reset toaªnot ready conditionº .Before taking the
I/M test, check thevehicle's inspection/
maintenance testreadiness condition. Placethe
ignition switchinthe ON position without
starting theengine. Ifthe Malfunction Indicator
Light (MIL) comes onsteady for20 seconds and
then blinks for10 seconds, theI/M test
condition isªnot readyº .If the MIL does not
blink after20seconds, theI/M test condition is
ªreadyº .
