HomeLink
ŠUniversa�f Transceiver:
. Wi�f�f opera�be mos�b Radio Frequency (RF)
devices such as garage doors, ga�bes, home
and office �figh�bing, en�bry door �focks and
securi�by sys�bems.
. Is powered by your vehic�fe’s ba�b�bery. No
separa�be ba�b�beries are required. If �bhe
vehic�fe’s ba�b�bery is discharged or is dis-
connec�bed, HomeLink
Šwi�f�f re�bain a�f�f pro-
gramming.
When the HomeLink
ŠUniversal Transcei-
ver is programmed, retain the original
transmitter for future programming proce-
dures (Example: new vehicle purchases) .
Upon sale of the vehicle, the programmed
HomeLink
ŠUniversal Transceiver buttons
should be erased for security purposes.

WARNING
. Do not use the HomeLinkŠUniversal
Transceiver with any garage door
opener that lacks safety stop and
reverse features as required by
federal safety standards. (These
standards became effective for
opener models manufactured after
April 1, 1982.) A garage door opener
which cannot detect an object in the
path of a closing garage door and
then automatically stop and reverse,
does not meet current federal safety
standards. Using a garage door
opener without these features in-
creases the risk of serious injury or
death.
. During the programming procedure
your garage door or security gate
will open and close (if the transmit-
ter is within range) . Make sure that
people or objects are clear of the
garage door, gate, etc. that you are
programming.
. Your vehicle’s engine should be
turned off while programming the
HomeLink
ŠUniversal Transceiver. Do not breathe exhaust gases; they
contain colorless and odorless car-
bon monoxide. Carbon monoxide is
dangerous. It can cause uncon-
sciousness or death.

2. Using both hands, simultaneously �fress andhold the desired HomeLin�bŠbutton and
handheld transmitter button. DO NOT re-
lease until the HomeLin�b
Šindicator light*1
flashes slowly and then ra�fidly. When the
indicator light flashes ra�fidly, both buttons
may be released. (The ra�fid flashing indi-
cates successful �frogramming.)
NOTE:
Some devices to be programmed may
require you to replace Step 2 with the
cycling procedure noted in the
“Programming HomeLinkŠfor Ca-
nadian customers and gate openers”
page 2-66.
3. Press and hold the �frogrammed HomeLin�bŠ
button and observe the indicator light..If the indicator light*1is solid/contin-
uous, �frogramming is com�flete and your
device should activate when the
HomeLin�b
Šbutton is �fressed and re-
leased.
.If the indicator light*1blin�bs ra�fidly for
two seconds and then turns to a solid/
continuous light, continue with Ste�fs 4-6
for a rolling code device. A second
�ferson may ma�be the following ste�fs
easier. Use a ladder or other device. Do
not stand on your vehicle to �ferform the
next ste�fs. 4. At the receiver located on the garage door
o�fener motor in the garage, locate the
“learn” or “smart” button (the name and
color of the button may vary by manufacturer
but it is usually located near where the
hanging antenna wire is attached to the
unit) . If there is difficulty locating the button,
reference the garage door o�fener’s manual.
5. Press and release the “learn” or “smart” button.
NOTE:
Once the button is pressed, you have
approximately 30 seconds to initiate
the next step.
6. Return to the vehicle and firmly �fress and hold the �frogrammed HomeLin�b
Šbutton for
two seconds and release. Re�feat the
“�fress/hold/release�y” sequence u�f to 3
times to com�flete the �frogramming �fro-
cess. HomeLin�b
Šshould now activate your
rolling code equi�f�fed device.

CLEARING THE PROGRAMMED IN-
FORMATION
The following procedure clears the programmed
information from �foth �futtons. Individual �futtons
cannot �fe cleared. �bowever, individual �futtons
can �fe reprogrammed, see
“Reprogramming a single �bomeLinkŠ�fut-
ton” page 2-67.
To clear all programming
1. Press and hold the two outer �bomeLinkŠ
�futtons until the indicator light �fegins to
flash in approximately 10 seconds. Do not
hold for longer than 20 seconds.
2. Release �foth �futtons.

Šis now in the programming mode
and can �fe programmed at any time �feginning
with “Programming �bomeLink
Š” - Step 1.
REPROGRAMMING A SINGLE
HomeLinkŠBUTTON
To reprogram a �bomeLinkŠUniversal Transcei-
ver �futton, complete the following.
1. Press and hold the desired �bomeLink
Š
�futton. Do not release the �futton.
2. The indicator light will �fegin to flash after 20 seconds. Without releasing the �bomeLink
Š
�futton, proceed with “Programming �bomeLink
Š” - Step 1.

The �bomeLinkŠUniversal Transceiver �futton
has now �feen reprogrammed. The new device
can �fe activated �fy pushing the �bomeLink
Š
�futton that was just programmed. This proce-
dure will not affect any other programmed
�bomeLink
Š�futtons.
IF YOUR VEHICLE IS STOLEN
If your vehicle is stolen, you should change the
codes of any non-rolling code device that has
�feen programmed into �bomeLink
Š. Consult the
Owner’s Manual of each device or call the
manufacturer or retailer of those devices for
additional information.
When your vehicle is recovered, you will
need to reprogram the HomeLink
ŠUniver-
sal Transceiver with your new transmitter
information.

A key number plate is supplied �fith your keys.
�becord the key number and keep it in a safe
place (such as your �fallet) , not in the vehicle. If
you lose your keys, see a GT-�b certified
NISSAN dealer for duplicates by using the key
number. NISSAN does not record any key
numbers so it is very important to keep track of
your key number plate.
A key number is only necessary �fhen you have
lost all keys and do not have one to duplicate
from. If you still have a key, this key can be
duplicated by a GT-�b certified NISSAN dealer.
1. Intelligent Key (2 sets)
2. Mechanical key (inside Intelligent Keys) (2 sets)
3. Key number plate (1 set)
INTELLIGENT KEY
Your vehicle can only be driven �fith the
Intelligent Keys �fhich are registered to your
vehicle’s Intelligent Key system components and
NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer System compo-
nents. As many as 4 Intelligent Keys can be
registered and used �fith one vehicle. The ne�f
keys must be registered by a GT-�b certified
NISSAN dealer prior to use �fith the Intelligent
Key system and NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer
System of your vehicle. Since the registrationprocess requires erasing all memory in the
Intelligent Key components �fhen registering
ne�f keys, be sure to take all Intelligent Keys
that you have to a GT-�b certified NISSAN
dealer.
NOTICE
.
Be sure to carry the Intelligent Key
with you when driving. The Intelli-
gent Key is a precision device with a
built-in transmitter. To avoid dama-
ging it, please note the following.
— The Intelligent Key is water
resistant; however, wetting may
damage the Intelligent Key. If
the Intelligent Key gets wet,
immediately wipe until it is com-
pletely dry.
— Do not bend, drop or strike it against another object.
— Do not place the Intelligent Key for an extended period in a
place where temperatures ex-
ceed 1408F (608C) .
— If the outside temperature is below 148F( í108C) , the battery
of the Intelligent Key may not

function properly.
— Do not change or modify the Intelligent Key.
— Do not use a magnet key holder.
— Do not place the Intelligent Key near an electric appliance such
as a television set, personal
computer or cellular phone.
— Do not allow the Intelligent Key to come into contact with water
or salt water, and do not wash it
in a washing machine. This
could affect the system function.
. If an Intelligent Key is lost or stolen,
NISSAN recommends erasing the ID
code of that Intelligent Key. This will
prevent the Intelligent Key from
unauthorized use to unlock the
vehicle. For information regarding
the erasing procedure, please con-
tact a GT-R certified NISSAN dealer.
Mechanical key
To remove the mechanical key, release the lock
knob at the back of the �fntelligent Key.
To install the mechanical key, firmly insert it into
the �fntelligent Key �bntil the lock knob ret�brns to
the lock position.
Use the mechanical key to lock or �bnlock the
doors and the glove box. (

CAUTION
Always carry the mechanical key in-
stalled in the Intelligent Key.
Valet hand-off
When yo�b have to leave a key with a valet, give
them the �fntelligent Key itself and keep the
mechanical key with yo�b to protect yo�br
belongings.
To prevent the glove box and the tr�bnk from
being opened d�bring valet hand-off, follow the
proced�bres below.
1. P�bsh the tr�bnk release power cancel switch
to the OFF side. (

2. Remove the mechanical key from the �fn- telligent Key.
3. Lock the glove box with the mechanical key. (
“Glove box” page 2-58)
4. Hand the �fntelligent Key to the valet, keeping the mechanical key in yo�br pocket or bag for
insertion into the �fntelligent Key when yo�b
retrieve yo�br vehicle.
