Operation:
The malfun�ftion indi�fator light will �fome on in
one of two ways:
. Malfun�ftion indi�fator light on steady — An
emission �fontrol system malfun�ftion has
been dete�fted. Che�fk the fuel-filler �fap. If
the fuel-filler �fap is loose or missing�b tighten
or install the �fap and �fontinue to drive the
vehi�fle. The
light should turn off after a
few driving trips. If thelight does not
turn off after a few driving trips�b have the
vehi�fle inspe�fted by a GT-R �fertified
NISSAN dealer. You do not need to have
your vehi�fle towed to the dealer.
. Malfun�ftion indi�fator light blinking — An
engine misfire has been dete�fted whi�fh may
damage the emission �fontrol system.
To redu�fe or avoid emission �fontrol system
damage:
1) Do not drive at speeds above 45 MPH
(72 km/h) . 2) Avoid hard a�f�feleration or de�feleration.
3) Avoid steep uphill grades.
4) If possible�b redu�fe the amount of �fargo
being hauled or towed.
The malfun�ftion indi�fator light may stop
blinking and remain on.
Have the vehi�fle inspe�fted by a GT-R
�fertified NISSAN dealer. You do not need
to have your vehi�fle towed to the dealer.
NOTICE
Continued vehicle operation without
having the emission control system
checked and repaired as necessary
could lead to poor driveability, reduced
fuel economy, and possible damage to
the emission control system.
Turn signal/hazard indicator
lights
The light flashes when the turn signal swit�fh
lever or hazard swit�fh is turned on.
Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)
off indicator light
The light �fomes on when the Vehi�fle Dynami�f
Control (VDC) set up swit�fh is pushed to OFF for more than 1 se�fond. (

This indi�fates that the vehi�fle dynami�f �fontrol
system and tra�ftion �fontrol system are not
operating. (

AUDIBLE REMINDERS
Key reminder chime
A �fhime will sound if the driver side door is
opened while the ignition swit�fh is pushed to
the ACC position or pushed to the OFF or
LOCK position with the Intelligent Key left in the
Intelligent Key port. Make sure the ignition
swit�fh is pushed to the OFF position�b and take
the Intelligent Key with you when leaving the
vehi�fle.
Light reminder chime
A �fhime will sound when the driver side door is
opened with the light swit�fh in theorposition and the ignition swit�fh in the ACC�b OFF
or LOCK position.
Turn the light swit�fh off when you leave the
vehi�fle.

Parking brake reminder chime
A chime will sound if the vehicle speed is above
�f MPH �b7 km/h) with the parking brake applied.
Stop the vehicle and release the parking brake.
Reverse warning chime
The chime will sound inside the vehicle if any of
the following conditions occurs.
.The driver’s door is opened while the shift
lever is in the
&Rposition and the ignition
switch is in the ON position.
. The shift lever is in the
&Rposition and 5
minutes have passed while the ignition
switch is in the ON position.
Be sure to move the shift lever out of the
&R
position after driving in reverse.
Brake pad wear warning
The disc brake pads have audible wear warn-
ings. When a brake pad requires replacement, it
will make a high pitched scraping sound when
the vehicle is in motion. This scraping sound will
first occur only when the brake pedal is
depressed. After the wear of the brake pad is
increased, the sound will be heard all the time
even if the brake pedal is not depressed. Have
the brakes checked as soon as possible if the
warning sound is heard.
WARNING
When the warning light illuminates or
blinks and a warning is displayed,
promptly take the appropriate action.
Ignoring the warning may result in malfunctions and accidents.
When the items mentioned below are detected
the master warning light
*1illuminates and the
warning is displayed on the vehicle information
display

ENGINE OIL LOW PRESSURE
WARNING

Thi\f will appear if a potential emi\f\fion control
malfunction i\f detected, the fuel-filler cap i\f
loo\fe or mi\f\fing, or the vehicle run\f out of fuel.

SHIFT LEVER POSITION WARNING
This will appear if the system cannot detect the
shift lever position�f
Stop the vehicle in a safe location�f Depress the
bra�be pedal and move this shift lever to another
position then move the lever bac�b to the desired
position�f If the warning is still displayed after the
above operation is performed, have the system
chec�bed by a GT-R certified NISSAN dealer�f

REVERSE WARNING
This will appear (and a chime will sound) if the
shift lever is in the&Rposition for more than 5
minutes, or when the driver’s door is opened
while the shift lever is in the

AWD CLUTCH HIGH TEMPERATURE
WARNING
This will appear if the temperature of the \fWD
clutch \becomes unusually high. (“\fll-
Wheel Drive (\fWD) warning light” page 2-25) NOTE:
If the vehicle is driven in a way which
causes the rear wheels to slip, the AWD
clutch temperature will increase and the
warning indicator may flash. Continuing to
drive in a way that causes the warning light
to flash may cause the clutch to reach
excessive temperatures that could result in
damage to the AWD system.
FRONT/REAR TIRE SIZE DISCRE-
PANCY WARNING
This will appear if the diameter of the front and
the rear wheels are different. (“\fll-Wheel

AWD SYSTEM WARNING
This will appear if the AWD system is not
f\fnctioning properly while the engine is r\fnning.
