The electric tailgate can be opened automati-cally when all of the following conditions aremet.zThe operation mode is in OFF.zThe key is not inserted into the ignitionswitch.zThe electric tailgate is completely closed.zThe electric tailgate is unlocked.
zThe operation mode is in ON with theelectrical parking switch is pressed.zThe electric tailgate is completely closed.zThe electric tailgate is unlocked.

zRepeated continuous operation betweenopening and closing the electric tailgate willactivate the built-in protection circuit andswitch the tailgate to manual operation.CAUTION
zIf the electric tailgate handle is operatedwhile the tailgate is operating or immedi-ately after it is closed, the tailgate will movein the direction opposite to the one in whichit was operating.zIf the battery or fuse is replaced while theelectric tailgate is open, it cannot be closedautomatically.In this case close the electric tailgate manu-ally.

If a hand or head is trapped in the closingwindow, it will lower automatically.Nonetheless, make sure that nobody putstheir head or hand out of the window whenclosing the driver’s door window.The lowered window will become operationalafter a few seconds.

The sunroof can only be operated with theignition switch in the “ON” position.
The sunroof automatically opens if the switch(1) is pressed.To s t o p t h e m o v i n g s u n r o o f , p r e s s t h e s w i t c h(2) or (3).The sunroof closes while the switch (3) ispressed.
Safety mechanism (driver’s window only)
WA R N I N GzIf the battery terminals are disconnectedor the fuse for electric window is replaced,the safety mechanism will be cancelled.If a hand or head got trapped, a seriousinjury could result.CAUTIONzThe safety mechanism is cancelled justbefore the window is
fully closed. This
allows the window to close completely.Therefore be especially
careful that no fin-
gers are trapped in the window.
zThe safety mechanism is deactivated whilethe switch is pulled up. Therefore be espe-cially careful that fingers are not trapped inthe door window opening.NOTE
zThe safety mechanism can be activated if thedriving conditions or
other circumstances
cause the driver’s door window to be sub-jected to a physical shock similar to thatcaused by a trapped hand or head.zIf the battery terminals are disconnected orthe fuse for electric window is replaced, thesafety mechanism will be cancelled and thedoor window will not automaticallyopen/close completely.If the window is open, repeatedly raise thedriver’s door window switch until the win-dow has been fully closed. Following this,release the switch, raise the switch onceagain and hold it in this condition for at least1 second, then releas
e it. You should now be
able to operate the driver’s door window inthe normal fashion.

2. Turn off all lamps, heater and other elec-trical loads.3. Set the parking brake firmly on each vehi-cle. Set the gear of another vehicle in “P”(PARK) position (with A/T) or in “N”(Neutral) position (with M/T) and stop theengine.4. Open the bonnet, remove the fuse coverof the main fuse block.Refer to “Bonnet” on page 11-3 and“Fuses: Engine compartment” on page11-16.
5. Open the cover of the jumper cable termi-nal in the main fuse block.
6. Connect one end of one jumper cable to the jumper cable terminal (A) of yourvehicle, and the other end to the posi-tive (+) terminal of the booster battery(B).Connect one end of the other jumper cable to the negative (-) terminal of thebooster battery, and the other end tothe designated ground location of yourvehicle.
WA R N I N GzWhen connecting the jumper cable, stopthe engine in another vehicle. Otherwise,the cables or your cl
othes may be caught
by the fan or drive belt and personalinjury could result.zThe cooling fan turns on and off depend-ing on the coolant temperature. Do notbring your hands close to the fan while theengine is running or Plug-in Hybrid EVSystem is operating.
