The driver’s switches can be used to operateall door windows. A window can be openedor closed by operating the correspondingswitch.Press the switch down to open the window,and pull up the switch to close it.If the switch for the driver’s window is fullypressed down/pulled up, the door windowautomatically opens/closes completely.If you want to stop the window movement,operate the switch lightly in the reverse direc-tion.
The passenger’s switches can be used to oper-ate the corresponding passenger’s door win-dows.Press the switch down for opening the win-dow, and pull up the switch for closing.

The SRS includes the following components:
Only when the operation mode of the powerswitch is in ON, the airbags will operate.The airbags deployment produces a sudden,loud noise, and releases some smoke andpowder, but these conditions are not injuri-ous, and do not indicate a fire in the vehicle.People with respiratory problems may feelsome temporary irritation from chemicalsused to produce the deployment; open thewindows after airbag deployment, if safe todo so.The airbags deflate very rapidly after deploy-ment, so there is little danger of obscuredvision.

This function turns on the position and taillamps for about 30 seconds after theUNLOCK switch on the remote control trans-mitter is pressed when the combination head-lamps and dipper switch is in the “OFF” or“AUTO” position (for vehicles equipped withthe automatic lamp control). On vehiclesequipped with the automatic lamp control(except for vehicles equipped with LDW), thewelcome light function will operate onlywhen it is dark outside the vehicle.

This function turns on the headlamps in thelow beam setting for about 30 seconds afterthe operation mode is put in OFF.1. Turn the combination headlamps and dip-per switch to the “OFF” or “AUTO” posi-tion (for vehicles equipped with theautomatic lamp control).2. Put the operation mode of the powerswitch in OFF.
3. Within 60 seconds of putting the opera-tion mode in OFF, pull the turn signallever towards you.4. The headlamps will come on in the lowbeam setting for about 30 seconds. The direction of the headlamp beam (thedirection which the light shines in) altersaccording to the number of people and theload in the vehicle. Lower the headlamp
angle if it is too high due to the number ofpeople and/or the load in the vehicle so thatthe headlamps’ glare does not distract thedrivers of approaching vehicles. First set thelight switch to the “ ” position, then turnthe headlamp levelling switch knob to lowerthe beam. The greater the number on theheadlamp levelling switch knob, the lowerthe beam will point.Set the switch to the appropriate position sothat the headlamp beam is level with the road.

This mechanism automatically adjusts thedirection of the headlamps (beam position)depending on changes in the condition of thevehicle, such as the number of occupants orluggage weight. When the headlamps are illu-minated with the operation mode in ON, thebeam position of the headlamps is automati-cally adjusted when the vehicle is stopped.

After operating the vehicle in rough road con-ditions, be sure to perform the followinginspection and maintenance procedures:zCheck that the vehicle has not been dam-aged by rocks, gravel, etc.zCarefully wash the vehicle with water.Drive the vehicle slowly while lightlydepressing the brake pedal in order to dryout the brakes. If the brakes still do notfunction properly, we recommend you tohave the brakes checked as soon as possi-ble.zRemove the insects, dried grass, etc. clog-ging the radiator core.zCheck the inside of the vehicle. If waterentry is found, dry the carpet etc.zInspect the headlamps, If the headlampbulb is flooded with water, we recom-mend you to have it drained.
