Yo u c a n c a n c e l t h e A C C c o n t r o l b y u s i n geither of the methods below. When the control is cancelled, the system isplaced in the ‘standby state’. You can makethe system restart the control by using the“SET -” or “RES +” switch if the conditionsfor activating the control are met.zPress the “CANCEL” switch.zDepress the brake pedal.
When the system shifts into the ‘standbystate’ as a result of cancellation of the ACCcontrol, the “SET” indicator goes out. At thesame time, the display of the following dis-tance setting and running-ahead vehicle sym-bol (only when the ACC is detecting avehicle) is placed in the standby state of dis-play.
The ACC control is automatically cancelledand the ACC is placed in the ‘standby’ statein any of the situations listed below; you arealerted to this condition by the sound of abuzzer and a message on the display. You canmake the system restart the control by usingthe “SET -”” or “RES +” switch if the condi-tions for resuming the control are reestab-lished.zWhen your vehicle stops as the vehicle infront stops.zWhen the ASC is turned off.zWhen ABS, ASC or TCL is in operation.
NOTE
zThe set speed indication on the display turnsto “---” when the accelerator pedal isdepressed. This indication remains as long asthe pedal is in a depressed position.zIn certain conditions, the braking control andalarming functions of the ACC may not workfor a short while after releasing the accelera-tor pedal.zSet speed adjustment is impossible while theaccelerator pedal is
in a depressed position.

The FCM uses a sensor (A) to determine thedistance to a vehicle in front in the same laneand its speed relative to your vehicle’s speed.If the system judges that your vehicle is indanger of colliding against the vehicle almoststraight from behind, it gives you visual andaudible alarms (Forward collision warningfunction), increases the brake fluid pressure(FCM brake prefill function), and also pro-vides braking force assistance when you
depress the brake pedal (FCM brake assistfunction) to avoid frontal collision.When the risk of collision increases more, thesystem causes the brakes to work moderatelyto encourage you to apply brakes. If the sys-tem judges that a potential collision is immi-nent, it initiates emergency braking tomitigate collision-caused damages or to avoidpossible collision (FCM braking function).Stop lamps are illuminated during automaticbraking.

When you press the LDW switch, the “LDW”indicator on the information screen of themulti-information display goes out, showingthat the system is placed in the ‘OFF state’.Press the switch again, the system returns to“ON”.
In the standby mode, the system is capable ofrecognizing the lane in which your vehicle ispositioned and issuing audible warning whenyour vehicle goes out of the lane.The system automatically shifts from the ‘ONstate’ to the ‘standby state’ if all of the fol-lowing conditions are simultaneously met.The “LDW” indicator in the information dis-play change to indicator (green).zThe vehicle speed is approximately 65km/h or higher.zThe turn-signal lever is not operated.zThe hazard lamp is not activated.zThe brake pedal is not depressed.zEnvironmental conditions are adequatefor the system to recognize the lane mark-ings on both sides.zThe system has been placed in the ‘ONstate’.
A buzzer sounds intermittently and indicationof “LANE DEPARTURE” appears in theinformation display, indicator flashing inamber when your vehicle is about to leave orhas left the lane in the standby mode.

When the reversing sen-sor system is operated, the reversing sensorsystem operation indicator lamp (A) will turnon. To stop the operation, push the “SONAR”switch; the reversing sensor system operationindicator lamp (A) is turned off.
