A mixture of up to 10 % ethanol (grain alco-hol) and 90 % unleaded petrol may be used in
your vehicle, provided the octane number isat least as high as that recommended forunleaded petrol.
NOTE
z*1: Refer to “Limited driving mode
warning display” on page 6-33.
Display of the Limited driving mode warni
ng display does not i
ndicate a malfunction.
z*2: Refer to “ready indicator” on page 6-37.
z*3: To make warm up the drive battery, you shoul
d perform to communicate with the wireless
LAN device (which conforms to IEEE 802
.11 b and supports
iOS or Android) for MITSUBISHI Remote Cont
rol to the vehicle. If the information of
“” mark on the wireless LAN device is displ
ayed, connect the
EV charging cable as soon as possible.Refer to “MITSUBISHI Remote
Control” on page 3-17.
If the warming up of the drive battery is activated during home
or public charging device (EVSE:
Electric Vehicles Supply Equip
ment) charging, the
charging and warming up of the
drive battery may be stopped.
While warm up the drive battery, the following phenomena may occur.• The operation sound of on board equipmen
t and the state of charge is displa
yed on the multi information display.
Refer to “Charging from rated
AC 240V outlet” on page 3-10.
• Inside of the vehicle may be heated automatically.•The drive battery may not become full charge, or th
e remaining capacity of
drive battery may decrease.

Ethanol
CAUTION zDo not use more than 10 % concentration ofethanol (grain alcohol) by volume.Use of more than 10 % concentration maylead to damage to your vehicle fuel system, engine, engine sensor
s and exhaust system.
zDo not operate your ve
hicle on gasoline con-
taining methanol. Using this type of alcoholcould adversely affect
the vehicle’s perfor-
mance and damage critical parts of the vehi-cle’s fuel system.

How to change a tyre9-18 For emergencies
9
12. Check your tyre inflation pressure at the
next gas station. The correct tyre pres-sures are shown on the driver’s door label.See the illustration.
E00803800037
Reverse the removing procedure when stor-ing the jack, jack bar and wheel nut wrench.
Refer to “Tools and jack” on page 9-6.
E00801300735
Wrap the tip of the jack bar with a cloth, insert it into the notch provided in the wheelcover, and pry the cover away from thewheel. Using the same procedure at the otherwheel cover notches, work the wheel coveraway from the wheel to remove it completely.
1. Make sure the tabs (A) of the back of thewheel cover are not broken and correctlyfitted on the rings (B). If in doubt, do notinstall the wheel cover and consult yourMITSUBISHI MOTORS Authorised Ser-vice Point.
CAUTION zAfter changing the tyre and driving the vehi-cle about 1000 km, reti
ghten the wheel nuts
to make sure that they have not come loose. zIf the steering wheel vibrates when drivingafter changing the tyre, we recommend youto have the tyres checked for balance. zDo not mix one type of
tyre with another or
use a different size from the one listed. Thiswould cause early wear and poor handling.

Catalytic converterMaintenance 11-3
11
E01000202437
The exhaust gas scavenging devices usedwith catalytic converter are extremely effi-cient for the reduction of noxious gases. Thecatalytic converter is installed in the exhaustsystem. It is important to keep the engine properlytuned to ensure proper catalyst operation andprevent possible catalyst damage.

1. Pull the release lever towards you tounlock the bonnet.
zMake sure that the engine and Plug-inHybrid EV system has cooled down beforeremoving the radiator cap and EV coolingsystem reserve tank cap, because hotsteam or boiling water otherwise will gushfrom the filler port and may scald you. zDo not smoke, cause sparks or allow openflames around fuel or auxiliary battery. The fumes are flammable. zBe extremely cautious when workingaround the auxiliary battery. It containspoisonous and corrosive sulphuric acid. zDo not get under your vehicle with just thebody jack supporting it. Always use auto-motive jack stands. zImproper handling of
components and
materials used in the vehicle can endangeryour personal safety. We recommend youto consult a specialist for necessary infor-mation. zThe components inside the engine roommight be very hot to the touch.To a v o i d b e i n g b u r n t , m a k e s u r e a l l c o m -ponents have sufficiently cooled beforebeginning an inspection. These compo-nents are affixed with the label indicatingprecautions for handling. Follow theinstructions on the label.WA R N I N G

The fluid level is monitored by a float. Whenthe fluid level falls below the “MIN” mark, the brake fluid warning lamp lights up.The fluid level falls slightly with wear of thebrake pads, but this does not indicate anyabnormality. The fluid in the master cylinder should bechecked when doing other work under the
bonnet. The brake system should also bechecked for leaks at the same time.If the fluid level falls markedly in a shortlength of time, it indicates leaks from thebrake system. If this occurs, we recommend you to have thevehicle checked.Use brake fluid conforming to DOT3 orDOT4 from a sealed container. The brakefluid is hygroscopic. Too much moisture inthe brake fluid will adversely affect the brakesystem, reducing the performance.

The condition of the auxiliary battery is veryimportant for quick starting of the plug-inhybrid EV system and proper functioning ofthe vehicle’s electrical system. Regularinspection is especially important in coldweather. Be sure to have a MITSUBISHIMOTORS Authorized Service Point checkthe auxiliary battery.
