When driving

Camera sensor
●
Do not touch the camera sensor. ●
Do not subject the inside rear view mirror or the camera sensor to a strong
impact. ●
Do not disassemble the camera sensor. ●
Do not spill liquid onto the inside rear view mirror or the camera sensor. ●
Do not apply window tinting or stickers to the camera sensor or the area of wind-
shield near the camera sensor. ●
Do not place items on the dashboard. There is a possibility that the camera sensor
will mistake items reflected in the windshield for streetlights, the headlights of
other vehicles, etc. ●
Do not install a parking tag or any othe r accessories near or around the inside
rear view mirror and the camera sensor. ●
Do not overload the vehicle. ●
Do not modify the vehicle. ●
Do not replace windshield with a non-genuine windshield.
Contact your Lexus dealer. Observe the following to ensure that the
Automatic High Beam functions correctly.

sensor detects falling rain. The syst em automatically adjusts wiper timing
according to rain volume and vehicle speed.

The windshield wipers and wa sher can be operated when
The “ENGINE START STOP” switch is in IGNITION ON mode. ■
“A U T O ” m o d e

If the wiper switch is turned to the “AUTO” position while the “ENGINE START
STOP” switch is in IGNITION ON mode, the wipers will operate once to show
that “AUTO” mode is activated. ●
If the temperature of the rain drop sensor is 176  F (80  C) or higher, or 14  F
(-10  C) or lower, the automatic operation may not occur. In this case, operate
the wipers in any mode other than “AUTO”. Washer/wiper dual operation The wipers operate automati-

The raindrop sensor judges the amount of
raindrops.
An optical sensor is adopted. It may not
operate properly when sunlight from the
rising or setting of the sun intermittently
strikes the windshield, or if bugs etc. are
present on the windshield.

Effects of vehicle speed on wiper operation
With the settings other than “AUTO” also, the time until drip prevention wiper
sweep occurs is changed depending on vehicle speed.
Ty p e A
With selected, wiper operation will be switched from low speed to intermit-
tent wiper operation only when the vehicle is stationary. (However, when the sensor
sensitivity is adjusted to the highest level, the mode cannot be switched.)
Ty p e B
With selected, wiper operation will be switched from low speed to intermit-
tent wiper operation only when the vehicle is stationary. (However, when the sensor
sensitivity is adjusted to the highest level, the mode cannot be switched.) ■
If no windshield washer fluid sprays
Check that the washer nozzles are not blocked if there is washer fluid in the wind-
shield washer fluid reservoir.
CAUTION■
Caution regarding the use of windshield wipers in “AUTO” mode
The windshield wipers may operate unexpect edly if the sensor is touched or the
windshield is subject to vibration in “AUTO” mode. Take care that your fingers etc.
anything else does not become caught in the windshield wipers. ■
Caution regarding the use of washer fluid
When it is cold, do not use the washer fluid until the windshield becomes warm. The
fluid may freeze on the windshield and cause low visibility. This may lead to an acci-
dent, resulting in death or serious injury.
