INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on selecting your
new LANCIA vehicle. Be assured that
it represents precision workmanship,
distinctive styling, and high quality -
all essentials that are traditional to
our vehicles.
Before you start to drive this vehicle,
read this Owner's Manual and all the
supplements. Be sure you are familiar
with all vehicle controls, particularly
those used for braking, steering, and
transmission shifting. Learn how your
vehicle handles on different road sur-
faces. Your driving skills will improve
with experience, but as in driving any
vehicle, take it easy as you begin. Al-
ways observe local laws wherever you
drive.
NOTE:
After reviewing the owner infor-
mation, it should be stored in the
vehicle for convenient referencing
and remain with the vehicle when
sold.Failure to operate this vehicle cor-
rectly may result in loss of control or a
collision.
Operating this vehicle at excessive
speeds or while intoxicated may result
in loss of control, collision with other
vehicles or objects, going off the road,
or overturning; any of which may lead
to serious injury or death. Also, failure
to use seat belts subjects the driver
and passengers to a greater risk of
injury or death.
To keep your vehicle running at its
best, have your vehicle serviced at
recommended intervals by an autho-
rized dealer who has the qualified per-
sonnel, special tools, and equipment
to perform all service.
The manufacturer and its distributors

This Owner's Manual has been pre-
pared with the assistance of service
and engineering specialists to ac-
quaint you with the operation and
maintenance of your new vehicle. It is
supplemented by a Warranty Infor-
mation Booklet and various
customer-oriented documents. You
are urged to read these publications
carefully. Following the instructions
and recommendations in this Owner's
Manual will help assure safe and en-
joyable operation of your vehicle.

To Set The Variance
Start the engine, and leave the trans-
mission gear selector lever in the
PARK position. On the touch screen
go through "More", then compass,
Then select "Compass Variance" and
use the "Plus (+)" button to change
the variance value. Change the vari-
ance one step at a time as necessary
until the desired variance is achieved.
NOTE:
The factory default Zone is 8. Dur-
ing programming, the zone value
will wrap around from Zone 15 to
Zone 1.
Manual Compass Calibration
If the compass appears erratic or in-
accurate, and the variance has been
properly set, you may wish to manu-
ally recalibrate the compass. To
manually calibrate the compass:
1. Start the engine, and leave the
transmission in the PARK position.
2. On the touch screen go through
"More", then compass.
3. Then select "Compass Calibra-
tion" , The Touch screen will startflashing with a text message to start
drive the car in circles
4. To complete the compass calibra-
tion, drive the vehicle in one or more
complete 360 degree circles under
8 km/h in an area free from power
lines, large metallic objects, until the
CAL indicator turns off. The compass
will now function normally.
ELECTRONIC VEHICLE
INFORMATION CENTER
(EVIC) (for versions/
markets, where provided)
The Electronic Vehicle Information
Center (EVIC) features a driver-
interactive display that is located in
the instrument cluster.
This system conveniently allows the
driver to select a variety of useful in-
formation by pressing the switches
mounted on the steering wheel. The
EVIC consists of the following:
 Radio Information
 Fuel Economy
 Vehicle Speed
 Trip Info
 Tire BAR
 Vehicle Info
 Messages
 Units
 System Setup (Personal Settings)
 Turn Menu Off
The system allows the driver to select
information by pressing the following
buttons mounted on the steering
wheel:
Electronic Vehicle Information
Center (EVIC)

2. Touch the Rear VES soft-key to
display the Rear VES Controls. If a
channel list is displayed, press the
HIDE LIST soft-key to display the
Rear VES Controls screen.
3. Touch the 1 or 2 soft-key based on
the channel you want to change and
then the DISC soft-key in the MEDIA
column. To exit touch the back arrow
at the top left of the screen.
NOTE:
 To view a DVD on the radiopress the RADIO/MEDIA hard-
key, on the radio faceplate, then
touch the DISC tab soft-key and
then the VIEW VIDEO soft-key.
 Viewing a DVD on the Touch- Screen radio screen is not avail-
able in all states/provinces, and
the vehicle must be stopped, and
the shift lever must be in the
PARK position for vehicles with
automatic transmission. In ve-
hicles with manual transmission
the parking brake must be en-
gaged.  Touching the screen on a Touch-
Screen radio while a DVD is
playing brings up basic remote
control functions for DVD play
such as scene selection, Play,
Pause, FF, RW, and Stop. Press-
ing the X in the upper corner
will turn off the remote control
screen functions.
Play A DVD Using The
VES™ Player (for
versions/markets, where
provided)
1. Insert the DVD with the label fac-
ing up. The VES™ player automati-
cally selects the appropriate mode af-
ter the disc is recognized and starts
playing the DVD.
NOTE:
The VES™ player has basic DVD
control function such as Menu,
Play, Pause, FF, RW and Stop
2. To watch a DVD on Screen 1 for
second row passengers, ensure the Re-
mote Control and Headphone switch
is on Channel 1. 3. To watch a DVD on Screen 2 for
third row passengers, ensure the Re-
mote Control and Headphone switch
is on Channel 2.
Using The Remote Control
1. Press the MODE button on the Re-
mote Control.
2. While looking at Screen 1 or 2,
highlight VES DISC by either press-
ing Up/Down/Left/Right buttons or
by repeatedly pressing the MODE
button, then press ENTER on the Re-
mote Control.
NOTE:
 Channel/Screen 1 select mode
information is shown on the left
side of the screen.
 Channel/Screen 2 select mode information is shown on the
right side of the screen.
 The VES™ will retain the last setting when turned off.
Using The Touch-Screen Radio
Controls
1. Press the MENU hard-key on the
radio faceplate.

2. Touch the Rear VES soft-key to
display the Rear VES Controls. If a
channel list is displayed, touch the

While A Video Is Playing
Ensure the Remote Control and
Headphone switch are on the same
channel. If watching a video on
Screen 1 (second row), then Channel
2 could be used for audio. If watching
a video on Screen 2 (third row), then
Channel 1 could be used for audio.
Using The Remote Control
1. Press the MODE button on the Re-
mote Control and either the Mode Se-
lect Screen will display or a small
banner will appear at the bottom of
the screen.
2. To listen to an audio source on
Channel 1 or 2, either press Up/
Down/Left/Right on the Remote Con-
trol to highlight the desired audio
source or press the MODE button re-
peatedly until the desired audio
source appears on the screen.
Using The Touch Screen Radio
Controls
1. Press the MENU hard-key on the
radio faceplate.
2. Touch the Rear VES soft-key to
display the Rear VES Controls. If a
channel list is displayed, touch the
HIDE LIST soft-key to display the
Rear VES Controls screen.
3. To listen to an audio source on
Channel 1 while a video is playing on
Channel/Screen 2, touch the 1 soft-
key and choose an audio source. To
listen to an audio source on Channel 2
while a video is playing on Channel/
Screen 1, touch the 2 soft-key and
choose an audio source. To exit touch
the back arrow soft-key at the top left
of the screen.

LOCK/OFF position, and once re-
moved, the shift lever is locked in
PARK.
This system prevents the key fob from
being removed unless the shift lever is
in PARK.
NOTE:
If a malfunction occurs, the system
will trap the key fob in the ignition
cylinder to warn you that this
safety feature is inoperable. The
engine can be started and stopped
but the key fob cannot be removed
until you obtain service.
BRAKE/TRANSMISSION
SHIFT INTERLOCK
SYSTEM
This vehicle is equipped with a Brake
Transmission Shift Interlock System
(BTSI) that holds the shift lever in the
PARK position unless the brakes are
applied. To move the shift lever out of
the PARK position, the ignition switch
must be turned to the ON/RUN posi-
tion (engine running or not) and the
brake pedal must be pressed.SIX-SPEED AUTOMATIC
TRANSMISSION
The shift lever position display (lo-
cated in the instrument panel cluster)
indicates the transmission gear range.
You must press the brake pedal to
move the shift lever out of the PARK
position (Refer to Brake/
Transmission Shift Interlock System
in this section). To drive, move the
shift lever from PARK or NEUTRAL
to the DRIVE position.
The electronically-controlled trans-
mission provides a precise shift sched-
ule. The transmission electronics are
self-calibrating; therefore, the first
few shifts on a new vehicle may be
somewhat abrupt. This is a normal
condition, and precision shifts will de-
velop within a few hundred kilome-
ters.
Shifting from DRIVE to PARK or RE-
VERSE should be done only after the
accelerator pedal is released and the
vehicle is stopped. Be sure to keep
your foot on the brake pedal when
moving the shift lever between these
gears.
The transmission shift lever has only
PARK, REVERSE, NEUTRAL, and
DRIVE shift positions. Manual shifts
can be made using the Electronic
Range Select (ERS) shift control (de-
scribed later in this section). Moving
the shift lever to the left or right (–/ +)
while in the DRIVE position will se-
lect the highest available transmission
gear, and will display that gear in the
instrument cluster as 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

NOTE:
If either front tire is flat it may be
necessary to jack up the vehicle to
remove the compact spare tire/
cover assembly from under the ve-
hicle.
4. Stand the tire/cover assembly up-
right and remove the wheel spacer by
squeezing the winch retaining tabs to-
gether. Push the retainer through the
spare tire to release it from the wheel.
PREPARATIONS FOR
JACKING
1. Park the vehicle on a firm, level
surface. Avoid ice or slippery areas.
WARNING!
Do not attempt to change a tire on
the side of the vehicle close to mov-
ing traffic, pull far enough off the
road to avoid being hit when operat-
ing the jack or changing the wheel.
2. Turn on the Hazard Warning
flasher.
3. Set the parking brake.
4. Place the shift lever into PARK.
5. Turn OFF the ignition. 6. Block both the
front and rear of
the wheel diago-
nally opposite the
jacking position.
For example, if
changing the right
front tire, block the left rear wheel.
NOTE:
Passengers should not remain in
the vehicle when the vehicle is be-
ing jacked. JACKING INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING!
Carefully follow these tire changing
warnings to help prevent personal
injury or damage to your vehicle:
 Always park on a firm, level sur-
face as far from the edge of the
roadway as possible before raising
the vehicle.
 Turn on the Hazard Warning
flasher.
 Block the wheel diagonally oppo-
site the wheel to be raised.
 Set the parking brake firmly and
set an automatic transmission in
PARK; a manual transmission in
REVERSE.
 Never start or run the engine with
the vehicle on a jack.
 Do not let anyone sit in the vehicle
when it is on a jack.
 Do not get under the vehicle when
it is on a jack.
 Only use the jack in the positions
indicated and for lifting this ve-
hicle during a tire change.
