INPUT/OUTPUT SIGNAL CHART
*1: This signal is sent to the ECM via the CAN communication line.
*2: ECM determines the start signal status by the signals of engine speed and battery voltage.
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
This system improves engine operation when the air conditioner is used.
Under the following conditions, the air conditioner is turned OFF.
When the accelerator pedal is fully depressed.
When cranking the engine.
At high engine speeds.
When the engine coolant temperature becomes excessively high.
When operating power steering during low engine speed or low vehicle speed.
When engine speed is excessively low.
When refrigerant pressure is excessively low or high.

VALUES ON THE DIAGNOSIS TOOL
NOTE:
Specification data are reference values.
Specification data are output/input values which are
detected or supplied by the ECM at the connector.
* Specification data may not be directly relat ed to their components signals/values/operations.
i.e. Adjust ignition timing with a timing light before monitoring IGN TIMING, because the monitor may show
the specification data in spite of the ignition timing not being adjusted to the specification data. This IGN TIM-
ING monitors the data calculated by the ECM accordi ng to the signals input from the camshaft position sen-
sor and other ignition timing related sensors.

DescriptionINFOID:0000000006217746
Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning is a function of ECM to learn the fully released position of the
accelerator pedal by monitoring the accelerator pedal pos ition sensor output signal. It must be performed each
time the harness connector of the accelerator pedal position sensor or ECM is disconnected.
Work ProcedureINFOID:0000000006217747
1.START
1. Check that accelerator pedal is fully released.
2. Turn ignition switch ON and wait at least 2 seconds.
3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
4. Turn ignition switch ON and wait at least 2 seconds.
5. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
