MEMORY RESET PROCEDURE
1. Please observe the following instructi ons at confirming the sunroof operation.
NOTE:
Do not disconnect the electronic power while the sunroof is operating or within 5 seconds after the sunroof
stops (to wipe-out the memory of lid position and operating friction).
2. Initialization of system should be conducted after the following conditions.
When the sunroof motor is changed.
When the sunroof does not operate normally. (Incomplete initialization conditions)

quirement

INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE
If the sunroof does not close or open automatically, us e the following procedure to return sunroof operation to
normal.
1. Press the tilt up switch and start the tilt up operation.
2. Release the tilt up switch once, press the tilt up switch again, press and hold the switch until lid pops up.
3. The glass lid moves slight toward tilt up direction then stop. (Press and hold the switch during this opera- tion)
4. Release the switch again, and press the tilt up s witch within the first 10 seconds. (Press and hold the
switch)
5. After 4 seconds, the glass lid will be automatically operated in sequence of tilt down, slide open and slide
close.
6. After the glass lid stops, release the switch 0.5 second later. (Press and hold the switch during this opera-
tion)
7. If slide switch operates normally, this initialization is done.
ANTI-PINCH FUNCTION
1. Full open the sunroof.
2. Place a wooden piece (wooden hammer handle, etc.) at near fully closed position.
3. Close the sunroof completely with auto-slide close.
Check that sunroof lowers for approximately 150 mm (5 .91in) or 2 seconds with out pinching a wooden piece
and stops.
CAUTION:
Never check with hands and other part of body because they may be pinched. Never get pinched.
Depending on environment and driving conditions, if a similar impact or lord is applied to the sun-
roof it may lower.
Check that auto-slide operates before inspect ion when system initialization is performed.
Perform initial setting when auto-slide operatio n or anti-pinch function does not operate normally.

the seatback thermal electric unit and seat cushion thermal electric unit
is more than 30 °, it stops the output to the thermal electric unit, activates
the climate controlled seat blower motor at the maximum position, and
sends the external airflow for 30 seconds
If the temperature difference is still more than 30 °C after 30 seconds
pass, it stops all output and enters the system OFF condition
When the temperature difference between seatback thermal electric unit and seat cushion thermal electric unit becomes less than 20 °C, the sys-
tem recovers automatically
If it detects that the temperature difference is more than 30 °C after the
automatic system recovery, it immediately stops all output and enters the
system OFF condition
NOTE:
When the switch operation is performed before entering the system OFF
condition, the fail-safe mode is reset.
The temperature of thermal electric unit is more than
11 0 °C in the HEAT mode (any thermal electric unit in the
seatback or seat cushion) When it detects for 4 seconds that the temperature of the thermal electric
unit is more than 110 °C, it stops the output to the thermal electric unit,
activates the climate controlled seat blower motor at the maximum posi-
tion, and sends the external airflow for 30 seconds
If the temperature does not become less than 105 °C after 30 seconds
pass, it stops all output and enters the system OFF condition
When the temperature of the thermal electric unit becomes less than 105 °C, the system recovers automatically
If it detects that the temperature of the thermal electric unit is more than

The temperature of the thermal electric unit is more than
45 °C in the COOL mode (any thermal electric unit in the
seatback or seat cushion) When it detects for 4 seconds that the temperature of the thermal electric
unit is more than 45 °C and less than 70 °C, it starts the temperature mon-
itoring of the thermal electric unit at 3 second intervals
While monitoring, if it detects that the temperature continuously rises 2 °C
or more 4 times or reaches 70 °C or more, it stops all output and enters
the system OFF condition
If it detects other results of monitoring, it continues activating in the COOL mode

VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM : System Description
INFOID:0000000006226185
The vehicle security system has two alarm functions (theft warning alarm and panic alarm), and reduces the
possibility of a theft or mischief by activating horns and headlamps intermittently.
The panic alarm does not start when the theft warning alarm is activating, and the panic alarm stops when
the theft warning alarm is activated.
The priority of the functions are as per the following.
THEFT WARNING ALARM
The theft warning alarm function activates horns and headlamps intermittently when BCM detects that any
door or hood is opened by unauthorized means, whil e the system is in the ARMED state.
Security indicator lamp on combination meter always blinks when power supply position is any position other
than ON. Security indicator lamp blinking warns that the vehicle is equipped with a vehicle security system.

NOTE:
BCM ignores the door key cylinder UNLOCK switch signal input for 1 second after the door key cylinder LOCK switch signal input .
To lock/unlock all doors by operating remote controller button of Intelligent Key or door request switch, Intelligent Key must be within
the detection area of outside key antenna. For details, refer to DLK-18, "
INTELLIGENT KEY SYSTEM : System Description".
To open back door by operating back door opener switch, Intelligent Key must be within the detection area of outside key anten na. For
details, refer to DLK-18, "

DISARMED Phase
The vehicle security system is not set in the DISARM ED phase. The vehicle security system stays in this
phase while any door is open, because it is assumed that the owner is inside or nearby the vehicle. Security
indicator lamp blinks every 2.4 seconds.
When the vehicle security system is reset, each phase switches to the DISARMED phase directly.
PRE-ARMED Phase
The PRE-ARMED phase is the transient state bet ween the DISARMED phase and the ARMED phase. This
phase is maintained for 30 seconds, so that the owner c an reset the setting due to a mis-operation. This phase
switches to the ARMED phase when vehicle conditions are not changed for 30 seconds. Security indicator
lamp illuminates while being in this phase.
To reset the PRE-ARMED phase, refer to the switching condition of No. 10 in the table above.
ARMED Phase
The vehicle security system is set, and BCM monitors all necessary inputs. If any door or hood is opened with-
out using Intelligent Key, vehicle security system switc hes to the ALARM phase. Security indicator lamp blinks
every 2.4 seconds.
To reset the ARMED phase, refer to the switching condition of No. 11 in the table above.
ALARM Phase
BCM transmits “Theft Warning Horn Request” signal and “High Beam Request” signal intermittently to IPDM
E/R via CAN communication. In this phase, horns and headlamps are activated intermittently for approxi-
mately 50 seconds to warn that the vehicle is accessed by unauthorized means. ON/OFF timing of horns and
headlamps are synchronized. After 50 seconds, the vehi cle security system returns to the ARMED phase. At
