vehicle or in the boot unless they ar esecured.
Otherwise, you and other vehicle occupants
could be injured by object sbeing thrown
around the vehicle in the event of sharp brak-
ing, asudden change in direction or an acci-
dent. G
Risk of poisoning
Always drive with the boot lid closed .Exhaust
fumes could otherwise enter the vehicle inte-
rior.
The left-hand and right-hand rear seat backr-
ests can be folded down separately to
increase the boot capacity.
Folding the rear seat backrest forward i
Vehicles with memory function: when you
fold one or both parts of the rear seat back-
rest forwards, the respective front seat
moves forwar dslightly, when necessary, in
order to avoid contact.
X Vehicles without memor yfunction: if nec-
essary, move the driver' sorfront-
passenger seat forwards.

Make sure that the rear seat backrest is cor-
rectly engaged. Othe rwise, vehicle occupants
could be injured by objects being thrown
around if you:
R brake sharply
R change direction suddenly
R are involved in an accident
If the rear seat backrest is not engaged, this
will be shown in the multifunction display in
the instrument cluster.
i You should always engage the rear seat
backrests if you do not need the through-
loading feature. This will preven tunauthor-
ised access to the boot from the vehicle
interior.

Observ ethe following notes on securing
loads:
R secur ethe load using the la shingeyelets.
R do not use elasti cstraps or nets to secure

anti-slip protection for light loads.
R do not route lashing materials across sharp
edges or corners.
R pad sharp edges for protection.
The are four lashing eyelets in the boo tonthe
Coupé and two lashin geyelets in the boo tsill

! Remove the handl eagain befor eclosing
the boot lid and snap it in tightly to prevent
the handle flap from protruding. Otherwise,

An incorrectly secured roof carrier, ski rack or
load could become detached from the vehi-
cle. These object smight then be thrown
around and could injur eyou or other sor
caus eana ccident. Follo wthe roof carrier/ski
rack manufacturer' sinstallation instructions
and special instructions for use.
The roof load raise sthe vehicle' scentre of
gravity, thereby affecting vehicle handling.
You must always observ ethe maximum roof
load of 10 0kg. Always adapt your driving style
to the prevailin groad, traffic and weather
conditions and driv ewith particular care if the
roof is laden. G

! Mercedes-Ben zrecommends that you
only use roof carrier sthat hav ebeen tested
and approved for Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
This helps to preven tdamage to the vehi-
cle.
Position the load on the roof carrier in such
aw ay that the vehicle will not sustain dam-
age even when it is in motion.
Depending on the vehicle equipment,
ensure that when the roof carrier is fitted
you can:
R open the panorama sliding sunroof fully
R open the boot lid fully
! To avoid damaging or scratching the cov-
ers, do not use metallic or hard objects to
open them.

Insert the cup holder so that the wedg eof

Do not expose the child restraint system to
direct sunlight. The child restraint system's
metal parts, for example ,could becom every
hot and the child could suffer burn sasa
result.

To open: slide cover :forwards until it
engages.
X To remove the insert: hold insert=by
the ribbing at the sides and lift it up and
out ;. X
To refit the insert: press insert=intothe
holder until it engages.
X To close: press cover :briefl yatthe
front.
